I rented a upper two bedroom apartment for $535 on a year contract. Even that is a little pricey for what kind of place that you get. I later regretted signing this agreement, not only because the place was horrible, but because my friend got a beautiful townhouse with a garage for $550. About two months after I moved in everything started breaking from GENTLE use; broken sliding door, leaking faucet, towel rack broke, the window blind mechanism is literally designed to fail, and I had not been able to shut a closet door since I had moved in. The electrical is a nightmare. When you move in, be prepared with several boxes of light bulbs because you will go through all of them and then some. Most of the time they wouldn't last 3 weeks. I checked the socket, I was using the right watt bulbs. The walls are paper-thin, not exaggerating. Music at a modest volume can be heard by your neighbor, and you can hear the tenants at the other side of the building walk up the stairs. We had three noise complaints in the first 4 months. On was defintely my fault, but the other two were ridiculous. I soon learned to come home, sit down or tip toe around the house. The maintenance room down stairs makes a BUNCH of noise. It was a running joke with all of our friends lumberjacks lived in there. The manager is quite rude. I'm not the only one that thought so; this has been repeated by former tenants, current tenants that lived in my building and tenants that I knew at work. One morning, the manager called me up nice and early out of a dead sleep to rant at me that I cannot have a grill on my balcony. Quite understandable, as it's against fire code; if only I had a grill on my balcony. I was getting yelled at for the neighbor's grill. I didn't get an apology, only a sort dismissal. Very unprofessional all around.(By the way, don't try to put ANYTHING on your balcony or patio, even deck chairs or camping chairs. They go around every 3 months and leave a note on your door telling you to take them off, no matter how pretty they look.) The maintenance people are horrible! Every 6 months they have a scheduled maintenance week where they change out your air filter and check your smoke detector. Lock your door folks! If they come knocking, and you happened to be sleeping, they walk right in! I woke up to a man opening my bedroom door saying "Just checkin' your smoke detector!" Sure, I think it's pretty awesome that you get free heat and water, but that doesn't make up for the $300+ consumers bill. Two months out of the summer, there must have been 5 toasters and 7 blow dryers running 24-7 in our apartment that I didn't know about. Apparently the meter was reading properly, but some lines were crossed... All I had to say was WHAT?! No compensation, I was told that it was "power consumed". I only waited so long to move out after the lease was up because I was waiting for an approval for a loan, and didn't want to sign another years lease somewhere else. After my lease was up, I went month-to-month and was $50 more. I could live with that. Three months later, however, the rent went up to $605, and I was not happy. Thankfully the loan went through and I was ready to move out 2 months later. Have to add some Pros, to be fair: Free Heat and Water The grounds are pretty Tennis Court Free access work out area and pool during office hours with 2 guests Lots of closet space No assigned parking places, plenty of spots for everyone That's all folks

I had several doors to rekey and the tech worked quickly and efficiently and constantly communicated with me regarding my needs and what he did to the doors. Everything was professional and I was glad that I called him. I'll be looking to Hugo's for all my locksmithing needs.

Like for many others, perhaps, things since the pandemic have been pretty unsettled and chaotic. On top of that, there seems to be an inherent disorder, or chaos, to my life, despite my best attempts to right the ship and keep it on an even keel. Things just have not gone very well, though I have managed to at least keep a roof over my head and, more importantly, over my beloved pets' heads. I chose Saginaw over other places both in Michigan and in other cities/states, and discovered Green Acres Apartments as part of that search. I took a gamble, and rented a unit sight unseen at this apartment complex. My past few times with this experience have been, well, not great, though, again, at least I managed to have a place to live, amazingly enough. I was really worried about this apartment, based on past and present experiences in renting. I was also very, very tired and burned out, and feared that this place would be another storm I would have to weather in my journey to find a place, and a city, I could settle into for a while (and even just to catch my breath). I needn't have worried. Green Acres is the best place I have ever leased in all my 30+ years of renting. I came prepped with an arsenal of cleaning supplies (I used to clean professionally, and have high standards), but the place was so clean, I only used a handful of supplies. Everything really was "freshly painted" and I loved everything about the apartments down to the the cat-friendly large windows and the charming retro feel of the cabinet hardware and the wonderful quirky bathroom. I sat in my living room that first night after my stuff was moved in, had a cup of tea, looked out the tall window that overlooked the lovely courtyard--and felt so calm and at peace. The staff at Green Acres, from the very beginning, have gone above and beyond to help me settle in in several ways--none the least with the welcome box of delectable pastries that were a much-appreciated treat that first day as I tried to restore enough order among the moving boxes to have a place to sleep (and a pathway through the apartment!). I would highly recommend Green Acres as a "safe harbor" place to call home.

Also if you have any issues with other tenants good luck getting them to look in to things and do anything about it cause they won't. People throw trash out of their cars all the time across the apartment complex. It's also way over priced. So I would just highly recommend not coming here

RENTERS BEWARE!! I just moved here on the 1st of September 2022 and I am SO thankful I only took…read moreout a 6 month lease. I can't WAIT to get out of here. The owner/manager of these complexes is just the WORST to work with. I pay top dollar for this place and I understand she took ownership and upped the rent to much that most people moved out. Little do they know - they were forced to make the right decision. When I came to see the place the carpet was covered in black animal hair/fur. The guy showing the place called or texted his manager and was told it would be replaced before I moved in. Perfect! I got the keys the night before the movers were scheduled to arrive and walked into...the SAME carpet! It was soaking wet but they did clean...the middle of the floor. There was still black hair so thick along the edges that I scooped out a BIG chunk just by running my finger along the edge for about 2 inches! GROSS! The upstairs toilet seat literally had butt filth from the person who lived here! I had to put TP on the seat until I could go BUY my own toilet seat. Are they SO expensive they can't be replaced between tenants? The kitchen cabinets had so much finger grime on the outside edges and there were crumbs along the edges of the insides of the drawers. I had to literally clean the outsides and insides of the cabinets before I could move into the kitchen. Brittanie claimed the apartment had been cleaned by a professional cleaner and then by her and another employee. I was told it would not be recleaned because nobody could live up to MY standard of clean! Ummm...excuse me?! You are telling me that I should just accept the fact that I am living in someone else's grime? It took a few weeks and 100 emails, but she finally agreed to replace the carpet. Now, mind you, I had paid almost $2,000 for movers. I was told I had to move EVERYTHING out of the house other than the large furniture, take everything off the walls, and have nothing hanging in the closets. What?!! I have to completely move back out?! I have a 3bdrm and they are upstairs! I was NOT taking everything down the stairs and then back up again. So that was ANOTHER argument and 100 emails! I finally convinced her to have the carpet company come back another time and do the smaller bedroom so I could move everything into there, but it was a BATTLE. It seemed like a good compromise but I tell you, I had to fight TOOTH AND NAIL for that solution. EVERYthing is a hassle with this woman! She literally doesn't care about the residents and makes snap decisions and it is ALWAYS against what it wanted/needed. I FINALLY get the new carpet. Great! It's nice but the carpet company put in the WORST transition strips between the kitchen and the dining room, and the hallway and the upstairs bathroom. They are the wrong color and they are a big HARD lump - so much so that it hurts your foot if you step on it with no shoes on. I was also missing 2 floor vents. I thought the carpet guys were coming back in a few weeks so I wasn't too concerned about it. The first possible date for the 2nd install passed and I never heard anything. It was nearing the 2nd date so I emailed Brittanie and asked her if they were coming. She said she wasn't sure so she would get back with me. I had already taken everything out of the room so it was ready. I never heard anything back so I just put my stuff back in the room. I'm done! They will have to wait until I move out to replace it. I've been here 7 weeks and have not been able to get fully settled. So, I had mentioned the missing floor vents a week or so ago, and now that the carpet guys aren't coming back, I put in a work order to get the vents replaced. Guess what?!! Now, because it's been THREE weeks since the carpet install, she says I have to pay for the floor vents! Seriously?? I can't wait until February so I can get the heck out of this place!
