Visited some friends in North Williamsburg and instead of grabbing a Lyft or Uber back to Dumbo, I…read moredecided to hop on the Waterfront water taxi--and honestly, it was such a great choice! Super quick, easy, and the views are amazing. The North waterfront has gorgeous condos and a killer skyline backdrop, so the ride feels like a mini adventure. Prices are way better than rideshare: $4.50 for a single ride, $29 for a 10-ride pack, or $15 for a 2-day pass. The taxi runs about every 15 minutes and connects North & South Williamsburg, Dumbo (Brooklyn Bridge), and Wall Street. It's not just for visitors--lots of residents use it as a convenient way to commute to and from work. Perfect if you want something affordable, scenic, and stress-free. Quick tip: Try riding around sunset for incredible views of the skyline, and grab a coffee before boarding to make it even better! Highly recommend giving it a try--you'll save money and get a view that Uber just can't offer!

There is plenty of seating to catch up on reading, work or just sitting still. The East River ferry stops here to transport you to Manhattan. The waterfront is close to Bedford Avenue, the Main Street for shopping, dining and drinking. If you are in the mood for further wandering, Domino Park is very close by. All in all a great "getaway" in Brooklyn.

As you might know I love parks and being one with nature. Add a dynamic setting, waterfront view,…read moreterrific dining spots and a sense of calmness.. guess what? I'M THERE! Thus, I decided to continue my exploration of Greenpoint, Brooklyn and decided on another gorgeous fall day, a park visit was on the top of my list. Here's what Transmitter Park offers you and ME: ( Note how it hits all my checkpoints above): - Accessible by G train and stop is Greenpoint, exit subway from Greenpoint NW corner staircase. Take Kent street all the way down. As you walk, take note of the street scene on Manhattan Avenue, what a cool multi ethnic world to take in... - Bit of history; WNYC radio use to program here and then a couple of years later the park became a beautiful open space to the neighborhood ( it's neighbor, Domino park transformed from a Sugar Factory into a smorgasbord for fellow Williamsburgites). Hmmm, Brooklyn knows how to transform dormant property into beautiful public spaces.. YES! - As for Domino Park, it's a thirty minute walk from this park if you're up to two park visits in a day - The " loves me, loves me not" mural as you enter park is breathtaking - There are benches to sit and just calm your mind - A pedestrian bridge allows majestic views of Brooklyn and Manhattan - Greenpoint Terminal Market on Noble Street offers a lively shopping experience.. I didn't check it out this time but I will be sure to next visit - There are wonderful establishments for all taste buds: The Green Pot for tea and lovely snacks, Forninos, my other pizza favorite, Karczma for kielbasa and borscht. Today I ate at Paulie Gees Pizza Slice Shop and took dessert home at Peter Pan Pastry shoppe. As I continue to explore the marvelous borough of Brooklyn with a kids state of wonder, I really took a moment today to really marvel it and am reminded how lucky I am. Brooklyn: YOU ROCK!

The park offers stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, a well-maintained large lawn, children's playgrounds, cultivated nature gardens, and a recreational fishing pier. Opened in 2012, it features a meticulously restored Art Deco transmitter building that now serves as a historical landmark, and a pedestrian bridge that gracefully spans over a tidal wetland, connecting different areas of the park. The park serves as a vibrant community hub for recreational activities and public events, actively supported by the volunteer group Friends of WNYC Transmitter Park. Transmitter Park may be small in size, but it is packed with character. It boasts incredible views of Manhattan and is remarkably beautiful. My daughter and I recently visited and found it to be a peaceful, serene space. What I appreciated most was how the park creates a calming atmosphere--sitting at the water's edge, you can enjoy the soothing sound of waves and the refreshing gusts of wind. It's a place I highly recommend for anyone seeking a tranquil outdoor escape.
