This shop should be investigated for fraud. The owner Jason was the worst person to talk with - will not tell anything information about repairs until they are done. I had alternator replaced and in less than 2 weeks I had to tow my vehicle back to the shop for another alternator. They would not tell me when the vehicle would be ready nor if they used the same brand alternator that failed. I will NEVER take a vehicle here again. read more

Warning do not bring your car to this guy Jason the owner he's a total rip off. I brought a car in for an AC charge. Their people lied to me and told me I needed condenser on my vehicle. They charge me $120 said they wouldn't fill it until the condenser was replaced then they'll charge me an additional $85, plus the cost of a new condenser $679.00 So as the owner of five cars in a part-time mechanic as a hobby myself this is not my first rodeo with cars and I know what I'm talking about and I understand most people when they bring their car to these guys they don't know too much about a car and a lot of times they pay more than they should. So I brought my car elsewhere for a second opinion to see if the condenser was in fact bad. They looked at the vehicle, put a charge on it and said : "your condenser is not leaking, it's holding a charge" And so it hasn't lost any AC fluid for months now. Jason will not admit his mechanic and shop foreman seen DRIED green die from an old AC line leak and try to put a condenser on this car instead and make an additional $679!! But worse than that the shop foreman & the guy who worked on my car actually told me that the condenser was not holding a charge, which is another lie. All I asked the owner Jason to do was a refund me half of the $120 in a show of good faith and he denied me that $60. I recently went to Stuebenville Pike Auto to purchase a car. The car lot is filled with good and clean cars. The variety is great, as well as the price range. I worked with Alan, he even took the time to come in on his day off to show me cars, which I greatly appreciate. On the day of purchasing the car, it was detailed and ready to roll. The final sale and paperwork completion went fast and smoothly. There is a 30 day warranty, and you can choose to purchase an extended warranty. I would highly recommend this place. The cars are nice and they offer fair prices. Bought a car there and was told it had a 90 day warranty. It needed it. Was in the shop at least 5 times and now the engine blew. Stay away!!! They tried fixing it but it never got done right!! $4500 down the drain and they won't get anymore referrals from me!! Wouldn't negotiate the price and didn't fix the car right when I told them the problem. Stay away!!! Junk cars and not helpful. All that money and they never batted an eye on the last issue. Now I know better. Never finished this review. After paying 4500 getting a new engine for 1600 coolant issues for another 200 I could have bought a new car. This is the worst place I've ever dealt with. Told me they put a new starter in, well, they must not last because I'm getting another one out in now!!! read more

My car started overheating and regurgitating coolant just as I parked it at Pittsburgh Airport, and this is the place AAA towed it when I returned a week later. I was hesitant because of the negative reviews, but by the time I saw those, it was too late to change my mind. As a side note: I had replaced the radiator two or three weeks earlier, elsewhere, and also had a really bad experience with a mechanic. So this time I came in prepared, knowing what kinds of repairs and tests they were likely to recommend. The mechanic was actually kind enough to walk me over to my car and show me the test he was thinking of running (a hydrocarbon test). We talked for a bit, and he ended up recommending replacing the thermostat -- which was the same repair my normal mechanic suggested would fix the problem. He also mentioned a few other options, and was pretty clear about the risks of those. It seems it was, in fact, the thermostat, and they were able to replace it for me for around $200 in a couple of hours. My one concern was that they charged me $40 (included in the 200) for coolant, which seemed not entirely necessary since they could have drained the existing coolant (which was new) and then put it back in. But this is a relatively small complaint, and may come from my own lack of knowledge about auto repairs. Had I gone in without having done my research, might things have been different? I don't know. Total scam artists. Needed inspection on my vehicle and they kept what's called "piling on" issues they said needed done to pass adding up to thousands of dollars. Took to another mechanic who disagreed and who did what was needed which cost me a fraction of what these con artists said. read more

This is the worst possible place you could have your car serviced. When I was in a minor collision at the end of June, I had little choice but to go here since I was visiting relatives and didn't know the area. The following list details exactly why I would really, really recommend you find another service center - ANY other service center. 1. Bad communication about time frame. The date the car was supposed to be fixed kept getting pushed back. Because I am not from the area and the repairs took three weeks I had to arrange to drive in to pick up the car, which was a four hour trip. On the day that it was supposed to be done, they continued to push the time back further and further, despite having told me that was the date I could pick it up. No reason for the constant delays were given, but it seemed as though they had done little/nothing until that day to repair it despite having the parts to do so. Which is nothing compared to 2. When they finally gave me my car back (very rudely) at the end of the day, I drove it down the street and didn't even get a full quarter of a mile before it had overheated 5-7 times on a busy road. I limped it back to the station and the heat nearly melted off my face when I lifted up the hood. At this point, only about 10-15 minutes after I drove away with it, nobody was at the shop. I had to arrange for a transportation and a hotel so they could look at it again the next day. They said that the coolant not in the car and that this was somehow my fault despite the fact that they should have checked that before it was given to me and that it wasn't leaking any fluid at any point, indicating that they had just neglected to replace the coolant they had removed during repairs. 3. Fast forward to now, two months later. My car has been having problems with turning over when I try to start it since after it was fixed. Note that it ran fine before the accident and even after it but before it was brought into the body shop (they told me that the damage was all to the body anyway). I took it into my local garage expecting to need to replace the starter or battery, but received quite a shock when they told me that it was in fact my head gasket and they weren't even sure if I would want to replace it because of how expensive it would be. When I asked what could cause a problem like this he said that it would be from the car overheating, likely from lack of coolant. Considering that my car worked well before they "repaired" it, and that this issue started when they left my car without coolant and it overheated, I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that this is directly because of their negligence. 4. When I asked for an itemized list of what they did to my car (four times) the most they would give me was a receipt. He told me that he gave the list to my insurance company and all I got was the bill. Yes, really. 5. They stole about $5-10 worth of change out of my car. I had even hidden it, so I think they must have combed through it to see what they could take. I can't recommend that you avoid this place enough. If you hate your car and want to see it destroyed by Steubenville Pike Auto Body's negligence, if you want to be treated rudely by a foul-mouth who acts as though giving you any information is a chore, if you want things stolen out of your car - you're at the right place. Otherwise, you have a number of other options in that area, you owe it to yourself and your car to go to one of them. read more

I can see why people are enticed to go here. The big Better Business Bureau AAA+ signs, the promise of excellent service. Well, it really isn't what it looks like. Although the big sign with the little car (an actual little car) on the sign's peak has been added over the years, the same mediocre service is still occurring as has for many years. My car's brakes were reinstalled, new pads and rotors. Too bad the mechanic was in such a hurry that he forgot to inspect the caliper pins. Smoke and smell and heat and a trip back...that has been the least of it, although this is typical workmanship. Worst? My now deceased Honda CRV which went in for simple brake work and came out with a welded steering ball joint because the mechanic broke the joint, tried to fix it, couldn't...so he welded it. (Imagine your shoulder being welded in place...) He tried to hide the damage, but the car's steering was ruined. I nearly had an accident on the way home, and the anti-lock brake's sensor was also burned. I was too dumb to sue, and even though they gave me 1/3 of the cost of the job back, they could have killed me and my family. This place is a "never again". Looks good on the surface; the lady behind the desk is nice, but beware the guys with the tools. read more

I received the most wonderful service here! My car had to get towed here. Once we arrived, they could have left it until Monday to work on (we brought it in on Friday). I needed to drive to a wedding for the weekend that night, I was extremely disappointed. One of the mechanics, Mike, took it upon himself to come out to the car and work for at least 45 mins to try and get my broken spark plugs out. He worked relentlessly, got them out and put in the new ones. He saved my dad and I over 1000 dollars if they would have needed to take apart the engine. If I had brought it to a chain place there was no way they would have taken the time to mess around with it, especially if that meant they would receive less money as a result. They truly saved my weekend! I will be coming back here for any car troubles. read more

The other day my car died on I376. I am a AAA member and had it towed here in good faith. The next morning the mechanic called me and said the timing belt had stripped and told me I could either replace the ENTIRE engine for $2600 or replace the head, timing belt, and water pump for $2900. Obviously I was leery of this analysis since all my car did was shut off. No metallic noise, no steam, no leaking fluids, nothing. I called several places and eventually found a mechanic who replaced only the timing belt. The car started right up and there was no other damage. All in all, it was about $550. Meanwhile, Steubenville Pike Auto charged me $45 dollars for their diagnostic before I had the car towed to the other mechanic. All they did was take out one screw to look at the belt!!! They were rude when I told them I wasn't going to pay them to do the work, and they were rude when I tried to get a refund on the diagnostic fee. STAY AWAY!! read more

I took my car here on Saturday because my gas tank was leaking. I was told that they would definitely look at it on Saturday. We didn't receive a call until Monday. They gave us a price for a new gas tank and I decided to take it elsewhere. When I went to pick up my car, I had to pay $53 for them just to look at it. I'm sorry but 15 minutes of looking at a car should not cost that much. Once I had my car back, I saw that they threw my belongings on the floor in the back. I had bubbles in there that spilled all over the floor and I had a book (that was borrowed) that is now soggy and covered with black smudges. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism. I will absolutely never go back. I hope people do not continue to pay over $50 for an ESTIMATE and no work. read more

The worst garage I've ever dealt with. AAA towed my car here when it broke down. The transmission in car was really not worth repairing so the front desk guy suggested scrapping it and to just bring my title in. I knew the price of scrap for a car is around $250 but when I got there with my title he told me I owed $46 for diagnostics (why run diagnostics when they know it's a blown transmission) they ran when the car got there. He told me they'd just do an even trade, my car title for the $46 bill. I was a bit taken a back and told him I knew I could get way more for scrap and I'd get it taken care of myself and paid my $46 bill. He blatantly tried to rip me off. The next day, on a Friday, I arranged for a scrap yard to pick up the car, the earliest they could get there is the following Monday. As a courtesy I called the garage to let them know I had arranged for the car to be towed. He told me Monday was not soon enough, I told him I had no way of getting it sooner and he proceeded to hang up on me. Perhaps he's mad because I didn't allow him to rip me off for over $200. Awful awful company. I'm surprised AAA continues to use them. read more

Let me start off by saying that my sister was hit about 2 years ago and the only placed approved by her isurance was steubenville pike auto. She took it to the guys here and they fixed her car up good as new, so to say the least she had a great experience. I however have not. I took my car here about 6 months ago to replace the front brake pads (what a mistake). I normally take it to the dealership but of course I was trying to save myself a few dollars. They convinced me to go with the more expensive ceramic brake pads because they would last longer, well let me tell you that my car is currently at the honda dealership because my brakes went last night on my way home from work. They called to tell me that my brake pads were completely eroded all the way down to the rotor and so now I need both the pads and rotors replaced. I would not recommend this place at all. Not worth it because it will end up costing you twice as much in the long run. read more
