There are rarely long lines to see a tellers, and they are very accommodation when making private appointments. The range of services for savings and investments are very good and I get a savings health check regularly. This makes sure I am making the most if my money. As I am a FlexPlus member, I have worldwide travel insurance included with my account, and I also have fee free foreign transactions on both my debit and credit cards. Well worth the £10/month fee for me, since I travel abroad a lot!

The branches are limited to what they are allowed to do, but the staff always try to explain the changes from head office to those customers affected. I have been in a couple of times when elderly people have been confused by the changes, and why they havent been able to get mini statements etc, and the staff have taken the time to explain it properly and tell the people how they can achieve what they need.

Plenty of private rooms for confidential applications. There are often quite large queues in the bank, and Monday mornings are best avoided for the average customer, as the queue for shops depositing money can be quite large! Friendly staff, although they do try to sell you their products everytime you use the counter service. A self service deposit machine is available.

It can get busy at lunchtimes and there is often a queue of 10 or so people between 12.30-1.30pmhowever it has 2 cash machines outside and one inside, as well as a rapid deposit machine just inside the door so you can often get away with avoiding the queues. They are doing free annual reviews for all their customers at the moment, so you can pop in when you have time and make sure you're getting the most out of your money - a great service. The bank itself is very dark and dingy inside which is my only complaint - better lighting wouldn't go amiss. Apart from that though, I've always found them really good!

Inside, there is just one counter with one or two members of staff waiting to serve you. It used to be a problem letting the staff know that you had arrived if they were round the back but this has now been solved - the door makes a loud electronic bleating noise as you push it open. The staff are always very friendly and efficient but the branch has cut its opening hours down to just three days a week. I do hope that they don't decide to close it altogether.
