They pretty much cover all the bases with a little bit of everything and adequate stock of the every day essentials such as strings, cords, pics and doodads. The staff has always been welcoming, friendly and the "appropriate amount" of helpful in that they ask if you need help and if you say no or just looking they leave you alone. But they are always right there if you do ask for assistance or information. Seeing some of the reviews stating "no body to help" or "I was ignored" makes me wonder because I visit frequently and have never found that to be the case. I've made two sister store purchases shipped to the Palm Desert store and everything went smoothly. One guitar I decided I didn't like and was able to return no hassle-no questions asked. I know that is store policy but I've never had to do that before so was pleased they are true to their word. Only disappointment I've had in the 6 years since moving to the area was I needed some string tree retainers for a Strat I bought off CL and though the website said they were in store stock, they weren't. And I can say that was my bad for not actually calling and confirming first. But the location is only 10 miles from me so no biggie.

My lesson was with Felix and we chatted for a few minutes and then he wanted to see where I was as far as BEGINNER skills. We went through some basic things, cords, leads, a touch on theory. We chatted about the guitar(s) I have at home. Felix not only made me feel good about what I've done on my own but really gave me some great idea on things to do at home. Felix showed me how easy it was to move from a basic pentatonic scale to actually creating some leads over a track and more! I wish I could say I got my money's worth, but the lesson was free! I have been taking piano lessons with Esther for a little under 4 years now and it has been one of…read moremy best decisions. We quickly became friends and this friendship definitely enhanced our lessons. Esther makes learning an instrument fun and exciting while constantly striving to find pieces that I would like to learn, which I will admit is not the easiest task since I'm picky. Any new student will likely feel that their efforts are rewarded ant they will quickly progress. While friendly and likable, Esther still has expectations for her students and has held me accountable to practice scales and pieces. She consistently finds new technique exercises to make sure my playing is both correct and proper or she reiterates the importance of mastering certain technical skills in order to be able to play higher level pieces and impress larger audiences. Proper arches and sound quality quickly become requirements as you become moderately adept at reading even the simplest of sheet music because you want to sound amazing and avoid improper practice that can lead to injury such as carpal tunnel.
