The work was good, but every single time I had a check up, more work was recommended, usually a crown replacement. I finally got skeptical that I was being scammed, so instead of agreeing to the new crown, I cancelled all future appointments. I finally made it to a different dentist, where I received the most thorough exam ever - and guess what?? I don't need a new crown. So, I'm headed into the weekend one tooth less than what I thought I would be given I just had porcelain veneer put into my less than a month ago. I've gone through a rollercoaster of emotions from getting cosmetic dental services from Dr. Steven Grim. I initially enjoyed my services , but things took a grave turn when after my new porcelain veneers fell out at less than a month of having them in my mouth and still paying on them. I first went into Dr. Ghim's office elated about getting the gap between my two front teeth closed with veneers after seeing all the positive reviews on a couple of websites, overall, 5/5 reviews from websites. On or around Wednesday, August 10, 2022, I went to Dr. Ghim's office for consultation, he provided me two options of veneers: 1st option - that was about $500+, but would easily stain and I would be back replacing within a short time frame and a 2nd option - porcelain veneers, that would stronger, less staining, better and more accurate color matching, made to last 5 - 10 years, and was about $5,000. The porcelain veneers, hands down, seemed like the better option. So, I chose to move forward with the porcelain veneers starting services on or around August 17, 2022, and within the timeframe of getting measured and set for my permanent porcelain veneers, I received temporary two front teeth. While waiting for my permanent porcelain veneers to return from getting made, which eventually arrived on December 7th, my temporaries had to be replaced 5 different times before my permanents were put into my mouth. I will say Dr. Ghim was extremely accommodating in putting them back in free of charge, so I was very appreciative. Overall, they were falling out due eating food, which they did previously explain to me that I should try to stay away from eating hard foods, which I did, but this did not work. My temporary teeth first started to fall out on or around the dates August 24th, August 28th, October 19th, and November 16th. Most of the time were even able to use the same created teeth because they had such a clean break with falling out. The only time we didn't was maybe one time because they had fallen on the ground and broken. During this time, all my interactions with all the staff and Dr. Ghim were always very pleasantly accommodating, even to the point of him coming in on his off day to rebound or cement my temporaries back into my mouth because I was headed out of town on vacation, but even on that day I had to wait about an hour after my appointment time for Dr. Ghim to arrive, but, I was still extremely appreciative. After having the temporaries replaced 4 different times, my temporaries fell out again for the 5th time, and so, I had to ask the office when they thought my permanents would be completed, which soon after asking about my permanents, they scheduled to arrive a week later on either December 7th, which I was so grateful and excited! On December 7, 2022, it was official, I got my permanent porcelain veneers put in on my lunch break. In all honesty, I was so excited to be done, I didn't think about the fact that I didn't receive any paperwork or verbal personal care tips and tricks/ upkeep tips from my Dr. Ghim or staff to help my new investment. I kid you not, on or around December 29, 202, not even 1-month after, my veneers broke in half with clean break from my 3-year-old sitting on my lap leaning back to turn around and hitting me in the mouth they broke. There were no cracking of the porcelain veneers and no chipping. My 3-year-old was not injured and did not cry. I was not injured and did not cry. My mother-in-law witnessed the entire thing simply asking me what's wrong. I explained to her, I heard a crack and she replied from what and where? I then easily lifted the one porcelain veneer out of my mouth like it was a full tooth, and she gasped. I called Dr. Ghim's office the next day due to the office being closed when it happened and called on or around December 30, 2022, to schedule a look and see about the warranty of my veneers, because again it had not been even a month. Unfortunately, the office was closed due to being the New Year's break, so I was referred to their neighboring office who was covering for them, which they could not help because they were backed up and fully booked. So, I called back to Dr. Ghim's office and left message, the same day, stating the other office was not able to get me into their office until January 9th, so I wanted to schedule an appointment with the Dr. Ghim when they opened back up, which would be January 2, 2023. I would not be able to go into Dr. Ghim's office on January 2, 2023, on my lunch break. Dr. Ghim took x-rays on my porcelain veneers, and he let me know he was extremely surprised he did not see any cracks or chips from the incident, which I explained again my 3-year-old didn't hit me hard and how easily it happened, and I thought something was wrong with the veneers or the technique in how they read more

Dr Ghim did veneers for my daughter a month ago and my 3 year old grandson lightly tapped her in her mouth while playing (accidentally) and her permanent veneer fell out. I witnessed this and was appalled that such a light bump could cause a tooth to fall out. I know that it was not a hard hit because he continued playing and never cried or Anything. She went back to the office and he supposedly cemented it back in only for it to fall out when she was brushing her teeth the next morning. She was told that he would NOT send them back under warranty. That is too much money to pay to have the work last a month. Poor quality and poor customer service. I Do not recommend! read more

What a wonderful dental practice and dentist. Steve Ghim is the dentist. He served on active duty with the Army in Washington, DC working in the Pentagon. You cannot be a dud or a slouch working with patients that include the 4-star generals of the joint chiefs of staff and other luminaries. He even has a photo with one of the big generals hanging in the office. The office is as modern as they make them. It is clean, attractive, comfortable with tea and sometimes chocolate to snack on while your wait. Everything is digital, so the x-rays are accompanied with color photos of your teeth suitable for framing. Ask for family packages. Donna at the front desk is sharp, courteous and accurate. You get reminder calls two days out from your appointments. There are at least three hygienists who are all very thorough. Have been treated here for the last 15 months and both my wife and I are extremely happy with everything. They work Monday - Thursdays and you do need an appointment. They are located in a business park with a number of other specialist dentists, so if you need a root canal, you can go next door, ditto wisdom tooth extraction/surgery. Very convenient with amply parking right out front. They know the various insurance companies and process the claims. You pay your co-pay and they do the rest. And Steve Ghim is a very genuine, caring and capable tooth doctor. The kind of guy that you want to have over for dinner. read more

Dr. Ghim along with his office also scammed me and my insurance! My last appointment was years ago and I see they are still at it. Received a subpar cleaning from his hygienist who seemed to clean every other tooth and didn't end with polishing. He's the blame because he checked afterwards and only comment was I needed additional dental work. Checked upon arrival home and all teeth were rough. On another appointment, needed crown glued back after falling out. He asked his assistant to get a glue package from his desk drawer which he used vs dental equipment. Charged me equipment price however. Finally, he said I needed a root canal and additional work on one tooth. Based on prior experience and tooth not hurting or sensitive, got a second opinion. That dentist didnt see an issue then and still not years later. Bottom line, suggest you seek another dentist if you don't what to get ripped off with subpar service and fake diagnosis for obvious money gain. BTW, do research and Google his past business practice and you will see clarity. Question his top ratings and wonder who did them and why. Can't always trust reviews, but mind is legitimate! read more

This is a scam dentist they will just try to get as much money from you and insurance as possible. Said my wife and I both had two cavities first visit which was not true. Went to different dentist and no cavities. 3 years later still no cavities. Do not go here unless you like being scammed read more

Everyone at the office conducts themselves in a very friendly but professional manner. Communication is great and you can tell they really care about you. This was the best dentist I have ever had. Everyone was helpful and friendly as soon as I walked in The door. I was seen promptly for my appointment. My dental hygienist Lisa did a outstanding job and was caring and patient and understanding with a positive outlook . Dr. Grim was detailed oriented and easy to talk to. He always puts 100 percent into his work. You will not leave there unhappy . That is a guarantee . Dr. Grim doesn't hurt and always make sure you are at ease and comfortable . When I got my crowns put in he gave me his personal number in case there was any kind of issues . I was also able to get my next appointment right away . This dentist is a hidden gem. read more
