I am beyond thankful for Stevens Creek Church. My husband and started coming to the Creek in 2005. We were completely lost. Our lifestyle was unhealthy to say the least. Living each day for the weekend. 18 years later we are completely different people and we still love it. Tonight we started leading a new married couples small group. It's so powerful what God has done in and through us in the years we've been there. My family and I visited this church several times because we really loved the pastor and the praise and worship team but the music is so excessively loud that even with the ear plugs (which they openly hand out) it was unbearable to stay in the sanctuary during any music playing. We kept returning thinking maybe it was a one time thing. But, we left each week with headaches & ear pain. Even my college-age daughters complained & wore ear plugs, and they attend many noisy concerts and sporting events. My husband called to inquire as to why it's so loud & the sound guy basically told him he was allowed to go to that level and that's the way it's going to stay. Sadly, this is the only reason we won't be returning to Steven's Creek. read more

Today, something happened that I had no choice but to stay for a day even though I didn't want to in this city that I've never heard of. It was undeniable that pastor Bruce Deel's today's message as a guest speaker was indeed a message given to me by the Lord. After the service, I needed to adjust the schedule by looking into the laptop for a while. Suddenly two men approached me. One of them, Bill, looked me up and down and asked me what I was doing here. He tried to force me out while many others stayed in the church. I asked him why I should leave when the others were still in the hall. This person said that because I had brought a bag. If so, they could have asked me if they could check the bag, but they didn't say that from the beginning of the conversation and the entrance. Then he just tried to force me out. This man, Bill, lied to me from the beginning that he told me that. And it turns out that, contrary to what this person said, this person was not even a security guard. If it is a problem to bring a bag, you should investigate the load of everyone who comes to worship. I said that I am a passing traveler, visitor, and Christian, so I also showed my seminary ID and said I am a pastor, but another man standing next to this man Bill, asked me, like an interrogator, which church in LA are you? Oh my goodness, do you guys think you are good at discerning all the denominations biblically? Humble yourself. Ok, so to worship in this church, you should not be a traveler, visitor, pastor, or even nonbeliever who owns a bag? I guess they only heard the sermons of this church's pastors and didn't hear or didn't want the sermon of pastor Bruce today. The pastor, who later found out that he was the church's associate pastor, also asked me why I came to this town, even after I showed him my seminary ID and said I am a pastor. I told him I didn't feel the need to answer that question. Look. If someone comes to visit, you will only care about whether the person is born again Christian or not. The one soul you miss may be the soul you will never find again anywhere else. If you put a nonbeliever in a welcome team, the pastor in charge does not know the importance or is not interested in the soul. So the pastors. Please do not be interested in getting information such as what my name is in ID but think about the Gospel. If someone causes a disturbance in the church, the pastor's name is Marty, so if everyone is MARTY*** during service, it would be an honor and grateful thing to God. The time of martyrdom is approaching for the church on this earth. So what do you worry about? If you can not overcome that fear, just set up a security checkpoint. I don't feel any deep repentance from them, so I still write a review like this and leave this town where I won't come back. The only reason I gave two stars was because of a humble woman who opened the door for me wholeheartedly. read more

I really like this church. I go to the 9:30 am service which to me is the perfect time. Not too early and not too late. It is a contemporary type service and the musicians are fantastic. There are 3-4 pastors that rotate giving the message. Each has their own flair and all of them are interesting to listen to. The atmosphere is casual, so no need to wear your sunday best if you don't want to. I'd say about half of the congregation wear jeans. read more

Stevens Creek Church is the real deal. Pastor Marty is dedicated to feeding his flock as well as reaching outsiders for Christ. Sermons are consistently inspiring, helpful for everyday life, and biblically anchored. They also care about special needs families. Grovetown campus in particular has one of the best sensory rooms for kids on the autism spectrum that I have ever seen. Speaking from vast experience as a mom of a son with autism, churches often don't provide exceptional care for special needs kids like Stevens Creek does. I'm personally very grateful for the community, teaching, and support that Stevens Creek lovingly provides on a weekly basis. They have also been around for years, so they are deeply invested in helping both believers and nonbelievers in the community in countless ways. I would highly recommend giving Stevens Creek Church a chance if you are looking for a place to grow in your relationship with God, and grow in relationship with others who are on a similar path toward living a God-centered life. read more

I use to attend this church regularly about 14 yrs ago. I have revisited the church in Augusta several times in the last year. It is not the church it use to be with wonderful praise and worship music . The music is so loud and harsh sounding with drums and guitars that one can not understand or hear the words being sung. I was so very disappointed this past Easter that I will not be returning. I could not believe the weak Easter message given by Pastor Marty . He really is a great preacher yet recently it seems he skips around the core truth to hit home. JESUS !. He has arisen and shout it out clearly. The congregation is made up of a different crowd than in years gone by . Don't tip toe around truth and just give them what they need -clear simple facts and knowledge about forgiveness and the way to heaven . Texting a message to let the staff know one received Christ is pitiful. The lost need and actually want to be acknowledged and have the personal contact. The crowds that attend here are the ones suffering from addictions, unforgiveness ad being shut out of the "norm". Let hem come forward and let them be acknowledged . They don't know acceptance or what being a a part of a church family means. The Easter message was lacking in substance . Tell the Easter story and educate those who need and want to learn and grow. A beautiful backdrop screen was behind the pastor . It had great Easter swishes of color with the name of the church to one corner . What a waste of time. Why not put the most important message across the entire screen . HE HAS ARISEN . Change the music and get back on track . Why have such loud obnoxious , truly odd music when one can certainly draw more in with toned down music that actually sounds somewhat reverent . Preach the gospel and get back on track . Seems like the church is riding the fence or changing to meet expectations of the congregation instead of staying focused on the gospel and real truth . Don't be rigid or like a Pharisee but stay true to the word of GOD and set the example. Stop the crazy music and concerts and see what happens. read more

This is the Church to attend. They have three services: 9:15, 11:00 and 7:00 every Sunday so you can attend morning and evening services. Their Ministers are the Best in getting the word out and making every word meaningful thereby bringing His spirit into the lives of all attendees. Their youth program touches all the youth who attend and let them find Christ and Christian fellowship. They continually search for the lost soul and help them through their difficulties and troubled times in finding Christ and bond with the members in Christian fellowship I started attending over twelve years ago and never left. I lead two groups, and perform marriage counseling, attend other groups and several church functions. Once you start you'll never want to leave. read more

Concerns are what they did; forgetting the $ came from the members. Credit should go to him above not the church employees. Couldn't find counseling there as an individual. They never attempted to get to know us unless you were willing to volunteer. Really dont think family members should be an employee. Wont go back there or recommend them. read more

Stevens Creek is an amazing church! The information in the prior reviews is now outdated. The service times are now 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00. You can also watch a service online or through a live streaming device such a Roku or Apple TV. (It is just not the same thing as being there with a group of fellow worshipers.) Regarding the comment from the reviewer that said they encountered a rude volunteer - I take that very personally. I am one of those volunteers that greet guests and members every other Sunday with a smile. Well, it's all right I suppose. Church is nice and clean, but the volunteers are rude, and if you have trouble with loud noises don't go. Even in the atrium with ear plugs offered it was too loud. Couldn't join any small groups due to lack of convienent times for our schedule. We need to park in a certain area for our needs, parking attendees would not let us and yelled at us to move on. There were many cars leaving, only 1 car behind us, but he would not let us and was very rude. This is the second time this has happened, we are now looking for a new church. read more

This church has actually spearheaded my path to Christ. I moved to Georgia about a year and a half ago with no church home and no church background. I found the church online and decided to go after viewing a service from the website . I can honestly say this is the best thing that has happened in my life thus far. I love everything about this place. There is so much love here and God is all around in this building. I have recently started volunteering and joined a small group. I can go on and on about the wonderful things at this church but I think you need to come and experience them for yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. read more
