Still Life is a coffee shop by day and art space in the evening. It is the kind of third space the city needs more of, that cultivates calm, some joy, and creativity. COFFEE SHOP. Strong espresso, matcha and tea options, and alternative milks reflect a well curated kitchen that knows the neighborhood. There are a dozen pastries and cookies to sample. They have actual mugs and plates and invite you to linger. ART EXPERIENCE. Still Life offers a casual, at your own pace, art experience where they provide materials and a subject and leave you to create. There are always postcard sized papers, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners available at any time. You can rent watercolors, brushes, and pastels. The back room has space for workshops (like ceramics). They provide mocktails and snacks in the evening. I haven't tried a "class" yet, but it's now high on my list of places to come sketch with a girlfriend. We all need more casual creative spaces! SPACE. The space is strewn with little pieces of art taped to the wall, haphazard tableaus of flowers, fruit, and art books. The front of house is all glass windows. Most tables are finished plywood two tops with stools (feels 100% like your high school art studio). High ceilings and exposed brick. Still Life does offer space rentals (inquire on the website) and I can imagine this being a really lovely spot for a casual bridal/baby shower for a creative friend, a breakfast networking session, or mini release party. Prices reflect the space rental built in. Staff are friendly and helpful.

My partner and I shared a maple sage latte, black sesame hojicha, and orange olive oil bread - TASTE: 4/5 - only got a hint of maple sage and the black sesame; enjoyed the hojicha drink a little more. The orange olive oil bread was nice and not too sweet TEXTURE: 4/5 - the bread was thick and satisfying PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal came to $20 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - portions as expected for a breakfast treat SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 10am on a Monday and the space was mostly empty. Drinks were ready ~5min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 - large, airy space for creatives. We enjoyed a still life drawing speed challenge while waiting for our order haha

Had some time to kill in the neighborhood and wanted to sit down for some coffee. A bit off the beaten path surrounded by construction but a nice simple cafe and chill space. Plenty of art supplies and a couple of still life (as per the name) spots set up. Didn't see anyone using it but a fun idea to get classes up and running in there. Huge bonus to offer almond/oat milk without additional fees.

Was on a mission to find a woman tattoo artist and I have found her! First, the studio is…read morebeautiful. It's colorful, bright, and has a very calming/inclusive atmosphere. Kae the owner and one of the artists is so dope. She listened to my idea and put a personal spin on what I wanted so it's one of a kind. She took her time drawing my new tattoos and made the effort to get to know me. The Tattoo rooms are private which is a bonus. There is calm lighting, relaxing music, calming smells the whole 9. Kae has a very very light touch and a smoothing voice that honestly as someone who loves tattoos but hates the pain, I felt comfortable and at ease. The prices are also very reasonable. Will definitely be going to her from now on and have already recommend her shop to people especially women and folks of color who want tattoos

Stunning studio design and overall comfortable atmosphere. Booked an appointment beforehand. Great…read morecommunication and quick response! This is one of those places you'll just feel an instant connection with. All the instruments were sterile and right out of the package. Prices were reasonable. Got my first tattoo here, a small tattoo on my upper thigh. Walked in a little nervous because I felt like asking for too many changes but Kena reassured me that it was alright. She walked me through the whole process, triple-checked the design, and made sure I felt comfortable. Before leaving I got instructions on how to take care of the tattoo for the next couple of days. An overall unforgettable experience, highly recommends it to anybody in the area.
