So, I was in the middle of several different claims, which all closed favorably . I did them all myself and then I realized I needed to change my VSO because I still had NC as a rep and I haven't lived there for years. So I had these fine folks change over to my VSO and they let me know what the decision was while I was waiting for the paperwork. Today I lost my job. I immediately reached out to Dori Pelley on LinkedIn. Within 30 minutes she responded informing me Jamie Lee would reach out to me. A few minutes later, I received a text from Jaime. From there, she sent me the intake questionnaire, reached out to others who would be contacting me based on the services I requested, and kept me in the loop. I never had a question. Jaime provided all the information/updates. I was so impressed with Dori's and Jaime's responsiveness, that I asked Jaime for a survey link. Still Serving Veterans was and continues to be an advocate for me. I was impressed to find that their counselors were all Veterans themselves and extremely knowledgeable. I worked with the employment side and the advice and encouragement I received was refreshing and motivating. I was able to find new employment in a different industry and I am finally doing something I love. I am a Marine Veteran (4 years active duty) and my counselor is a retired Navy Chief that thanked me for my service. I was very humbled by the experience. still serving veterans is a clique of out to pasture former govt employees and contractors who seek to present themselves as helping veterans with employment and other services - but they really just help themselves to a paycheck and a nice big desk and comfortable office where they can either glad hand- or in my case belittle people who come in their office. my so called case worker made me aware he was working for only 9.00$ an hour when he should be in the big money with his wife at redstone arsenal - wow he gave me an ear full- I haven't had steady work in 3 yrs but I had to listen to a 30 minute lecture from this guy about how rough hes got it! to me these folks are running little more than a public hoax- asking for donations to feather their own little nest at their plush new digs on Clinton ave!
