Part of improv is the audience interacting with the performers, and the small space and close-up chairs made that very easy. My friends and I were also able to talk to the performers (some of whom we knew) right after the show.

She was incredibly helpful starting…read morefrom the initial planning stages, selecting a date, and arranging a special tasting to accommodate the bride's dairy and gluten allergies. Mintahoe was so on top of it that they even had multiple gluten and dairy free wedding cakes for the bride to taste. This was especially impressive to us because other gluten and dairy free bakeries wouldn't even accommodate cake tastings. (The cakes were all delicious. We went with chocolate raspberry/ lemon poppyseed with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream.) Morgan went above and beyond through every step of the planning process, and she and the Mintahoe staff thought of everything. At our final planning meeting we met Nikita. She had the venue set up and then we went through every step of the day according to the timeline. On the big day, Nikita coordinated with our DJ, Pastor, and Photographers and things could not have gone better! A few things that really stood out to us were: - After the ceremony, the venue had our favorite drinks and small appetizer plates ready for us in the back room. - The late night snack (nacho bar and wings) were also allergen free. - They put up all of our signage and place cards (which saves a lot of stress). Overall, the day was so perfect because of Morgan, Nikita, and Mintahoe's professionalism and planning. As the bride and groom, we were able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day!

The well-maintained outdoor space provided a stunning backdrop for our ceremony and cocktail hour while the industrial vibe of the venue building provided some urban romance for the evening reception. The attention to detail displayed by the venue's staff was exceptional. Morgan, our event coordinator, was not only professional but also genuinely invested in making our day perfect. Coordinating an event with a very Type A bride (I'm the problem, it's me) and parents, who sometimes had differing preferences, is not easy, but Morgan navigated all our questions and changing plans with ease. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of our celebration was executed flawlessly, leaving us stress-free and able to savor every precious moment on the big day. The combination of breathtaking surroundings, impeccable service, and a dedicated team made our wedding day truly unforgettable. We are immensely grateful to Nicollet Island Pavilion for providing the perfect backdrop for our big day!

I've never actually adventured into to the Coliseum to see a show. I can be a bit sensitive to…read moresmells especially when food is involved but one of the newer vegan dishes were located at one the concession stands inside the coliseum. They also have a ton of merch vendors inside as well. While waiting for our food we decided to go see what the inside looks like where they do the shows and there wasn't much going on at the time. One of these years I'll try to catch a show as I guess it's part of the fair experience. You basically just walk in and sit wherever, which is nice. There's entrances and seats everywhere.

Walking up and down from the higher seats has no handrail so pay attention to your footing. I like watching horses from the boxes with tables so I have a place for my waters and cameras. During events there are food vendors - typical horse show food, but convenient. I like the water fountain option for refilling bottles and keeping people hydrated while keeping bottles out of the trash. There are many horse and other events throughout the year that are free to the public.

It started with a variety of rolls with pre-cut triangular butter. A nice tossed salad but no salad plates offered. I think my favorite was the garlic mashed potatoes. A good sized piece of chicken was just a minute more above being fork tender. Another favorite was the lamb ragu. If there were vegetables I ignored them and didn't have room on the plate.The bar is at the top of the stairs. It was also check in and we got a parking pass, thank God. So the dessert and coffee table had their signature chocolate. But I was lured to the cobbler and creme fraiche. The servers are standing very close to the buffet table and cater to your every whim, especially filling waters and clearing plates. Bathrooms are handy and a huge area in the ladies room for the bride to change. Then back to the parking lot.

The brick interior gives such a warm, home-style feel to such a big occasion, and it helped our guests settle in right away. The bar was very easy to coordinate and was quick to accommodate a couple of special requests we made. If there's anything we would have changed in retrospect, it would have been establishing some sort of off-site shuttle option. Luckily, our Sunday afternoon event was on a weekend where the Vikings were out of town and street parking was readily available. Still, this isn't any fault of the venues -- just a logistical thing to consider for your day. We can confidently say we would have our event at Watson Block even if given a do-over.
