The Apple Farm is the perfect activity for fall. It was fairly busy when we arrived but there is plenty of parking. There are quite a few stands throughout the farm offering wine, cider, and food. Along with the apple barn that has of course, apples and everything else fall flavored. I had an apple cider donut and am happy with the choice. Thor's Hard Cider was on site and the customer service was spectacular. They don't usually allow samples but being someone who doesn't get ciders often they allowed it. The cider was great! Highly recommend. For those of you that enjoy wine the Saint Croix Vineyards was onsite. I was meeting my aunties for wine tasting before dinner. They were surprised there's a variety to choose from. This is located in the back of Aamodt apple farm, inside the Aamodt store there's a bar and counter to order the cider or you can do a flight to taste. We did 2 flights, both ranging from dry to sweet. Ginger fizz was pretty good. Order at the counter and then take the flights to a table of your choice. The store is huge, they have merchandise and goodies along the walls. Picnic benches in the middle, this felt like a self service vibe. Once we were done drinking, there were stations at the corners for garbage and dishes. They sell packs of ciders in the can to take home. Local ciders shops are not super popular in my town so when my friend raved nonstop about Aamodt's I was excited. The venue is gorgeous. It's almost like a giant barn but was a cozy feel to it. They also have a lot of land which would be nice in the summer. Since it was winter, we didn't venture out too much. There were many options to try. The 3 of us ended up splitting the flight which you get to pick between 5 or 6 different ciders. All but one was great. They have a jalapeño cider and I was curious so I tied it. It was not my cup of tea (or cider) but it's not a bad thing to have on the menu if you're adventurous. read more

Apple Season! It's my local apple farm right here in the heart of Stillwater MN. If you're going during the fall season, lots of people and they all get there early. We arrived at 10:15 and the parking was already nuts. I have to say that it seems more organized this year vs years past and lots of more unique items to buy in the apple barn. At certain times of the year, they have pick your own apples too which is happening right now (this weekend). They have 2 small playsets for kids to play on. They have goats in a fenced off area. Lots of alcohol options (wine and cider) and na options too. We indulged in just regular cider and their honey crisp salsa and chips. It was unique but very tasty. They have a honey crisp express for kiddos but it wasn't running when we were there. Cute photo opps but it doesn't have as much other things to do compared to other apple orchards I've been too. First time being at an apple orchard so I didn't know what to expect. It was Saturday and we got there right at open at 10am. It's all field parking and after we left, the lot appeared to be full and cars were driving around making their own parking spots. You can't pick your own apples on the weekends but we spotted some people with their own bags picking some. They had a large tractor and a kiddie tractor for a fun activity around the farm. They also had a small playground and some goats you could pet through a fence. The gift shop has some small treats like pies and cookies and there are brats and kettle corn outside. The hard cider was really good and we didn't have to wait in line. The picnic tables fill up fast so bring some chairs or blankets if you want to relax and eat there/ have a picnic. It seems like a "fall" thing to do in minnesota but I wasn't amused. Fairly boring for adults and more a quick stop if you want anything with apples in it. It is best to get there right at open because it gets very busy and lines get a little long. read more

We came on a Saturday at 10AM to experience some fall fun. Parking is free, and there is no general admission fee, which is nice. The first thing I want to mention is that they do not do PYO on weekends. I knew this, but I figured there would be enough to do besides pick apples. They have a large store where you can buy apples, baked goods, and other treats and gifts. We purchased some sweet tango apples, a cookie, and some honey sticks. They have a winery, a cider booth, and several other booths with snacks and food. It was 10AM, so while I did have a cider flight that was delicious, it felt way too early to partake. I think I would have a much better experience if I came later in the day. I would love to experience PYO, too, but my work schedule did not allow it. read more

MA local MN classic apple orchard to visit allowing dogs! Bring your poochie if you can. This spot has been a favorite of mine to visit each season for the quaintness of the location as it definitely doesn't overwhelm. The parking can be wild as everyone parks where they feel fit on the grassy area. I recommend parking near the entry so that you can back out and exit during busy times. I also recommend going early in the morning to avoid the afternoon rush. The grounds are not super big and this orchard is a hit if you have small children as there is a playground, a couple of train rides and fields to run around in. For adults, there is mulled wine and an interior bar serving wine flights and beer. For all ages there are apple brats, cheese trays, apple salsa with chips, kettle corn, indoor market serving honey, everything apple, kitchen utensils and more. The best part about all the cashiers is that they are usually students fundraising tips to support local gymnastics, dance, etc. teaching them the importance of math and customer service. Lastly, I highly recommend doing the pick your own apples as you will purchase a bag and head to the trees to start the adventure. Enjoy! read more

Cute spot, but I was honestly expecting a bit more. I drove pretty far to see this place as I'd heard amazing things. The place itself is very nice. Very quaint and very well managed. Despite being busy, there were no lines anywhere (or if there were, they moved fast). The orchard is free to visit and park, which is awesome. I got some cider (of course) and it was very delicious. Also it came in a huge glass. It was perfect to sip as we walked around. As a pro-tip, there weren't many tables to sit at as to enjoy the area, although there was more than enough space for tables. So if I could recommend anything, it would be more seating! Or bring your owns chairs if you want to hang out hahah. I didn't want to just stand around, and there no were available tables, so we just kinda left after a bit of standing around lol. However if I could have ONE recommendation (full of recommendations today I guess) it would be the parking. The parking in the apple trees area needs to be one way movement. There is not room for two cars to pass (not really) and very little room to get out of the way when a car is coming at your car. I faced quite a bit of trouble trying to leave the lot due to people stuck trying to get around one another. Overall, I think this would be a great place to take your kids or go with a group. Our pubpass brought us to Thor's Hard Cider which is on the campus of the apple farm. I had no idea this place existed. It's beautiful. Apple trees all around. Tables set up in the parking lot for access to St Croix Vineyard and Thor's Apple Cider. We had our grand pup with us and dogs are very welcome here. I'm not a hard cider girls so I wasn't sure what to order. The bartender helped me through that and I opted for a more dry option with hints of cranapple. It was delicious. Very refreshing after an hour of hiking at Afton State Park. I also highly recommend the apple salsa. It would be nice if it came with homemade chips but, even so, the homemade salsa was unique and delicious! Loved this place. Can't wait to go back. It was empty when I visited on New Years Even weekend. Staff was friendly. We just got done with a private sauna experience that is offered in the same main lot and it was fun to pop in and see what was here. If you like honey sticks you can find MANY specialty varieties here. Apple salsa, apple jam, maple syrup (if it is midwest it is here). Hard cider flights (paid $20 for one flight and that was plenty for the two of us). (THOR'S HARD CIDER) They had holiday deals going on too. Favorite cider we went home with was winter solstice and semi sweet (the original) very smooth and simple. It is strange going to an apple farm and not being able to collect your own apples but that's how it is here. You just go in the store and purchase. It's a very simple farm. There is a playground area setup for the kids by Rainbow playground. The truck takes the kids for a ride around the farm. You need to purchase a ticket. The store sells apples, fresh cider, pies and such. There is a food truck for food and a cider station. I have been to a few places before where they actually show you how fresh cider is made. Today we finally stopped by with our pub pass and we loved everything about it. The outdoor area is HUGE. Plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy while sipping on your cider. My favorite part is that it is attached to St.Croix Vineyards so you get double the fun! Parking is so easy in between all the apple trees you will always find a spot. My husband and I brought our two kiddos here on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was a bit chaotic. There were a ton of people and there is t an actual parking lot. You just kinda park in the grass wherever you can fit. There is a lot more parking near the "exit" (which you can also enter from). When you walk towards the main area, there are two buildings to the left and a couple stands to the right. On the left is St. Croix winery. We sampled their reds for $14. Also to the left is the store. The store has already picked apples for sale plus baked goods and some seasonal wares. To the right is a wine stand and Thor's Hard Cider. We got the $20 sample. You get some good pours with these. They were excellent! We really all but one of the samples. There's also a playground and tractor ride(need a ticket). There isn't much for seating. Most people just say on the ground, so I recommend bringing a picnic blanket. The atmosphere is chill and beautiful. As of now, pick your own is only M-F. Since we came in a Saturday, we just bought the already picked which were delicious! We will definitely come back here. It's fun for the kids but also the adults! read more

It was just barely okay and it's expensive and whatever you do - don't buy their apple donuts. They are previously frozen and made by Rush city bakery. They were tasteless and not worth the effort to even eat them. Hot dogs we bought were fine but the wine we had was only meh. The sliced apples with carmel sauce was watery and bland. Pick your own small bag - maybe 10 or so apples was 15.00 dollars! More than a dollar per apple and they we just okay as well. Yeah, disappointing for sure. Not returning. What a beautiful space! I stopped by about an hour before close to check off another spot on our Sidewalk Dog passport. This one is local for me, so I saved it for a spontaneous trip. It was a gorgeous day for it! I got the Norse Berry. It was sweet but not cloying, an amazing cider! What really won me over was the ability to freely meander the vineyard and orchard. What gift to this area! On my way out, I picked up a caramel apple, some salted caramel apple cookies (OMG), and a bag of first kiss apples. Prices are a little high (it came to $24 for 3 apples, 6 cookies, and 1 caramel apple) but the product is amazing. Those cookies are my new favorite cookies. read more

We walked around the orchard, where you can pick your own apples, visited their store and purchased some treats (apple turnovers, cider donuts and cookies). We found a couple of nice chairs to relax in and enjoy our treats, while taking in the peaceful atmosphere we were surrounded by. We came here for a morning of apple picking, eating and wandering around the farm. We had a great time shopping and looking at all the nick-nacks. We got some food as well - they had a lot of baked goods as well as beers, etc. It was like a party atmosphere. My son loved looking at the animals they had as well as being able to run around the fields, etc. He also loved the mini train ride around the fields. We didn't actually pick any apples, but we had a wonderful time being outside and most of all our son had a blast. It's "fall" in Minnesota, whatever that means, and it's time to head to the apple orchard! It was an unseasonably cool day, so we didn't spend much time outside or pick any apples. We did, however, pay our $3 for a quick little hayride, and then made our way to the barn for some hot apple cider. The cider was ridiculously good. The place was packed so it made for some tricky maneuvering, but we still managed to get in on the apple sampling and purchase our other goodies. I grabbed some apple cider donuts and we browsed the wine selection at St. Croix--sampling is $6. There are brats, kettle corn, hard cider, and other wonders to be found at Aamodt's. I'm not from here but Apple orchards are a huge part of my life. My mom had been taking me to them since I was in middle school. Every fall I look forward to Apple picking. The apple picking here is good, but the apple barn and the "goodies" inside are not so good. The apple cider donuts I got tasted stale and very dry. Also had little to no apple flavor. The apple oatmeal cookie was probably the best thing we bought and tried, but again it was dry. The apple crisp is not crisp at all and doesn't have too many apples. We also got an apple fritter, it was bad but I was expecting more apple flavor. Some of the grocery store ones are better. My bf got the cup of apples with caramel and I really wish they would've used a more sour apple, but it was ok, he liked it. The last thing we tried was the apple cider which was absolutely awful. If way overloaded with some spice, and no it's not cinnamon. I wouldn't recommend the drive here. It's not worth it at all. Also, the staff just wasn't that friendly. read more

I couldn't wait to try this place out and was intent on waiting until the end of October to do so (my birthday), but curiosity got the better of me! It was a gorgeous sunny day to check this orchard out. Only a 33-min drive from Minneapolis. Plenty of parking and dogs are allowed, which I really appreciated since our pouch needed a bit of exercise! Thor's Hard Cider is located on the premises, as well as St. Croix Vineyard. In nice weather, there are tents outside serving cider and wine. We tried the cranberry and ginger flavors of Thor's. The cranberry came in a large bottle, which was served with a cup. Both were decent - not the most creative flavors but very refreshing on a sunny fall afternoon. You can also walk around the orchard with drinks, and there isn't a fee to enter like at other orchards. The gift shop has a nice variety of apples, souvenirs and of course, a cute little bakery counter where you can order apple cinnamon donuts - will have to go back to try these! There are also goats and a hayride comes through every 15 mins or so. We noticed little kids on an adorable tractor "train" ride too. Very cute orchard with lots to do and explore! read more
