It was a holiday winter wonderland gathering at the historic Stillwell House and Garden downtown Tucson Arizona on an early December 2025 weekday evening . With great care driving during 5 pm rush hour traffic congestion entering the event venue the valet parking offered made the arrival and limited parking much easier . I chose to attend to view the historic 1901 venue Stillwell House and Garden to experience with great anticipation snd high expectations as seen and read in many positive Yelp reviews. Our Tucson Yelp GM Isabella J. has touted this venue as one of her favorites which I have not visited before and lived up to said expectations in ambiance , efficiency , and enjoyment. Just a block south of Charro Steak and del Rey Seafood on south 5th avenue on the corner lies this large party venue . Not surprising the venue is owned and part of the large and local Si Charro group growing empire of restaurants in greater Tucson Arizona and beyond. Entering the large center courtyard the Stillwell house was highly decorated and lite up tastefully as a December Holiday party with over a hundred people celebrating a yearly party for the Presidio Group. began in the bar area. Hors d'oeuvres of meatballs & mini chimichangas in one area and large guacamole building table all fully staffed and foods presented colorfully by the Si Charro kitchen on site. In another corner by the bar had hot Mexican chocolate and cafe de ola . And in another corner was a huge cookie table with gingerbread houses and a large gingerbread cookie character anchoring the table filled with sweets . I was impressed with the large comfortable space accommodating this somewhat large crowd very comfortably . The large staff fully attended to the guests every need . After approximately an hour the gathering was surprisingly moved to the north side two story building adjacent to the the patio for a buffet dinner with festive green corn tamales , chicken mole , & prime rib with a bean medley, rice , tortillas , & tossed salad again fully staffed with friendly and efficient servers . Impressive were the seasonal colors and character added to all the food presented to celebrate and garnish the food for the winter solstice holiday season . The green corn tamales and chicken mole were especially tasty as was all the food presented. Following dinner the guests moved back to the patio and bar areas for the cookie table , Mexican hot chocolate & cafe de la ola awaiting a raffle of prizes patrons hoped to win. . Everyone was a winner with small bags of cookies professionally personalized the Presido Group Wealth Management logo for everyone to take home . I can now see why this is a popular wedding & other event venue in this historic large setting . The staff , food , decor ,and setting makes such events quite memorable. I mainly came to make a short visit to experience the venue, during the event my nfl football team the Lions where playing an important Thursday night game with playoff implications. Although I asked in advance if a tv was avaiable only an extremely small tv was hidden and off in the top corner of the bar. If wanted I could follow the game on my phone , but I did not . The food,drink," business friends , & festive historic setting enticed me to stay longer for most of the 2.5 hour early evening event rather than leaving early as pre planned . I couldn't resist staying for the dinner portion catered by Si Charro on site and throughly enjoyed the whole event & Stillwell House and Garden experience. It's now obvious why this is a most popular event location for your complete party venue needs. A true historic local gem" in downtown Tucson. I would consider using Uber or Lyft transportation Uber again at that busy time downtown . I'm told there's a parking garage nearby , the on street parking was full , but the valet parking made arrival much easier,thank you. ( I was told the Stillwell House & Garden has been under the same family ownership since 1901 but cannot confirm they fact ) That said historic 1901 historic Stillwell House and Garden experience is another " feather in cap " so to speak for our downtown city of gastronomy & Si Charro groups ever growing and expanding culinary & social experience. read more

Came here for the YELP cookie decorating event and it was cutest and the most magical perfect for the holidays. They also had tamale dinner and vendors and photos with Santa that were available for the public. The decor here was so beautiful. I just attended my first wedding here and it was delightful! Complimentary valet parking to start, which in down town is a lifesaver! It's a very pretty venue with outside and inside options including the historical Stillwell house! Everything just flowed magically and was very well set up throughout the evening. We seamlessly transitioned from pre wedding to ceremony to cocktail hour followed by dinner and dancing! The staff was all very polite, efficient and professional. Came here last week for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised by how opulent and charming Stillwell House proved to be. The architecture is not unique--you'll see many similar early 20th century properties throughout downtown Tucson (like the huge frat houses near 4th ave). But what they've done to the interior and the yard can make events feel larger than life. What I loved: Efficient usage of every square inch on the property. All the places to sit on the sides or the front of the estate. Makes it easy to get away from the crowd for a sec and have a quiet conversation, even when the courtyard is roaring loud. I swooned over that courtyard. Beyond that, service is so efficient and swift you barely notice them tiptoeing around picking up your glasses. When they offer up an hors-d'oeuvre or slice of cake it feels like they sneaked up on you. What I didn't love so much: The food leaves much to be desired. Entree options are limited, and the chicken + pasta dish served was *bland*. Like, I'm talking unseasoned chicken smothered in marinara bland. I get they have to play it safe, but I don't think anyone at our table finished their food. Not the end of the world, we still had a stellar time, and this place is surrounded by plenty of dining options. Despite some ups and downs, I can't stop thinking about how great a time I had here. We drank, we danced, we celebrated. Nobody went home unhappy. When I had a chance to talk to one of the grooms a few days later, he was satisfied with the experience as well as the price point. So if the hosts and the guests are smiling, I'd say Stillwell is doing great. read more

Alright, I am going to preface by saying I have champagne taste on a beer budget. Yet somehow Stillwell delivered with my love for champagne and elevated my expectations of a wedding venue. Was Stillwell the cheapest venue option? No. But was it the option that left all of my guests saying, "That was the best wedding I've ever been to and I've been to a LOT of weddings!" YES. Read on for all the detz. I was a bride with wide eyes and a list of non-negotiables. Before we secured Stillwell, we toured and received quotes for a variety of Tucson venues including Loew's Ventana, Ritz Dove Mountain, JW Starpass Marriott, Stardance, Tanque Verde Guest Ranch, Hacienda Del Sol, I could keep going but you catch my drift. No bride rock went unturned in my quest to locate the perfect venue. Then I was discouraged by the proposals provided by these venues on average, $80-100K for four hours, your traditional menu, and a four-drink minimum. My excitement was met with tears due to reality - where are we going to get 100K to host an exceptional wedding? Intro Stillwell house. Ambiance: * The Stillwell team allows you to create your vision using their unique bones and beautiful courtyard. For example, we prepared for rain on our NYE wedding therefore, organized a clear tent over the courtyard which amplified the magical ambiance. Flowers was top of mind and Bloom Maven elevated their already beautiful green stems with roses and an abundance of baby breath. Staff: * Candace, Wilma, and all the many faces at Stillwell are your guides - they prevent you from overdoing it but also align with your initiatives and objectives. Always being available to assist with any questions, problems, and hypotheticals we had. * Leveraged Billi Delgado as our Wedding Planner with ACA Event Studios to help with all the day to day planning, she knows the venue incredibly well having worked there in the past * With any outside vendor, Stillwell accommodated their arrival, set up, and made sure they were positioned in the most conducive place for guests and visual appease Food: * Everyone comes to a wedding knowing they will get a few apps, a cold piece of chicken or steak with a lame side. OKAY, not the case here- Stillwell delivers on the FOOD. I have never had so many texts or comments on food alone! Everyone raved about the bacon wrapped shrimp, the elongated charcuterie board, spicy meatballs, spinach artichoke, and this was just the apps. Incoming- fresh off the grill, split plate, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese... which was all raved about. * Later we rolled out a late-night nacho bar which again, brought people luring with their mouths watering. At one point, our officiant commented on our cousin who was taking a to-go bag home of mini-chimmi's in fear he wasn't going to leave enough for others to have seconds, LOL. Mechanics: * We had 205 guests, believe it or not- we all fit. And it felt intimate not overwhelming. * Photo booth by DarkHorse was a HUGE hit, allowed all our guests to get great pics in the cantina when they were getting a drink * The ability to bring in your own booze will save you THOUSANDS. Not joking. I did the math on some of the vendors listed about and the upcharge for a White Claw was 400%... Stillwell allowing us to bring in the variety of booze our guests like to drink was savings back in our pocket. * Our Room Block was at the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown TCC and we set up a shuttle through Diamond Transportation to loop to and from: venue to hotel, hotel to venue this made navigating downtown Tucson on NYE insanely easy! * Florals = the very talented Akiko at Bloom Maven * Photography/Videoraphy = the amazing samsougsphotography Overall, you give out of towners the experience of downtown Tucson, you share with them an intimate venue where space doesn't feel limited but conversations feel closer, the backdrop you aspire to obtain as a couple (truly, I could have forgo'd the florals and it would have been just as beautiful) and the confidence the staff and owners are going to give you a remarkable night to remember forever. With 200 guests the only thing I was concerned about was space and never ONCE did I feel like we didn't have enough. Let me preface what happened before we get into the meat of things- We had a tour scheduled for 10am but we had our schedule mixed up and we thought the tour started at 1030am instead. We take full responsibility for this. We texted Candace to try to reschedule and such and she was so nice about it and told us that she contacted Kelly, who is leading the tours, that we will be by. All was well again, or so we thought.. As soon as we arrived at the house, Kelly was oblivious to the fact that we would be there. Also to note, the other couple was given clear directions to which door to enter. We did not. Anyway, she handed us a form to fill out, told us we can see the place as well, and left us. She didn't even look our way as she escorted the other couple on their tour. She even had the audacity to shut the door in our faces when we attempted to leave the main lobby area to where the tour was being led. If she had told us "The other couple's tour will start momentarily, and I'll be back with you after." We would even be okay with that. But no, door in our faces. I am appalled by how my fiancé and I were treated. This is obviously not how you run a business for once-in-a-lifetime wedding days such as ours. No interest in our business, we're taking our wedding somewhere else. read more

WOW, where do I even begin. My husband and I got married this month and we found Stillwell House for our Ceremony. We thought, we are only having the ceremony here and the reception somewhere else. Well unfortunately, after reading all the reviews and experiencing first hand... Candance is as Sh** show to say the least. Absolutely, no communication whatsoever, not prompt to emails AT ALL, and makes you feel everything but special on your special day. Leading up to our wedding day, Candance had ZERO communication and still NONE, no welcome on our wedding day, and no congratulations after our wedding. After spending a lot of money, you would think even an automated email would be something so simple and kind, but not even that. We had arranged to have a memory table, greeting table for our guests and one of my Bridesmaids had to scramble to find any staff to get a table and get this set up. Not only did she have to find someone she also had to carry the table and set it up!! Even when it was in our contract pre-arranged! I also had emailed 2 weeks before our wedding that we needed 88 chairs set up for our ceremony. The staff only set up 64 chairs. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? How is it that they are missing 24 chairs??? For a short ceremony. Just despicable. I HIGHLY recommend NOT using this horrible venue and I recommend having absolutely nothing to do with Candance. How unfortunate. read more

I recently got married here and if you future brides are looking for additional stress and panic- this is your place! The location itself is old and outdated, all of their decorations are damaged/old, and their bridal room is tucked away in the kitchen! If you are looking for a cute place I'd say go somewhere else. Not to mention they are all so disorganized and you have to manage them. The workers on the night of the wedding were really kind. Everything beforehand, all the "help" was a total joke. Not to mention they are not cheap!! This place was adorable!! My best friend got married here over the past weekend and we were very satisfied with everything! From the wedding coordinator, to the bridal suite amenities, to the great staff, everything seemed smooth and stress-free. In addition, the space itself is very romantic and cute with lots of flora and lights and is just the right space to make the gathering feel intimate and personal for a wedding of less than a 100 people. I hosted my sisters baby shower with the Stillwell house family this past Saturday. From start to finish they made this event personal and professional. Jenn, Maria and Bubba ( my bartender boss) were attentive to the details while allowing us all to have fun and feel like we were in our own home! Mingling, laughing and seamlessly moving from cocktails to passed appetizers to a formal luncheon...then back to mingling, laughing and eating cake !!!! What a beautiful little venue in downtown Tucson. I walk past this place all the time when I'm downtown, and from the street you wouldn't really know it's a venue. It looks like a lovely, well-kept, classically-designed home. Once you're actually on the property, the only word to really describe it is charming. There is plenty of space for a decently-sized event between the house itself, which is two stories, and the gorgeous garden/patio/courtyard area outside. I believe there is actually a second building across the courtyard that could be utilized as a dance area for weddings or events that include DJs or bands. If you're throwing an event in Tucson...definitely a place to consider. read more

Oh my goodness me. If I could give more than five stars I would. My boyfriend proposed, and he, my mother, God mother and I were in search of a venue to get married. I knew I wanted to be able to get married outside, in a place that looked similarly to the patio in the French Quarter that my parents got married. It had to be reasonably priced, and have a staff that would keep me in the loop and informed. This venue met and exceed those expectations. We met with Kelly, and gave her a deposit check that same day. We got to do our sample menu and pick out what we wanted from a huge list of delicious dishes. They were incredibly accommodating to our baker, our DJ and to us. My amazing godmother created things like napkin rings, table numbers, vases, mason jar seat assignment thingies, and put personalized labels on all of the wine bottles that we were giving out. We had a lot of stuff to bring over, and they allowed to us to bring it the day before and have one less thing to worry about on the day of the wedding. We also were able to supply our own liquor, which was awesome. We got to buy the things we would actually need and want. For the cocktail hour, the bartender, Abraham asked me at the rehearsal if it would be alright for him to provide prickly pear mix for the margaritas (we did beer, wine and margaritas for cocktail hour and then a full bar for during and after dinner). I told him that that would be great. Those things disappeared like there were going out of style! So much so, that we ran out of tequila and margarita mix. Abraham went out during the reception and got more, and brought my father his receipt and change. I was somehow unable to eat my dinner (too much excitement I think), and the wait staff offered to take my plate away and bring me a new one once I was ready to eat. I had a few bites, and it was amazing! We got the cilantro-lime chicken. I recommend this. It was cooked perfectly, moist, yummy sides...I loved it, and so did everyone else! We also had a few vegetarians, and having been vegetarians for 14 years, my husband and I refused to serve them pasta (the thing we always got at such events). They brought out delicious tamales instead! My God father, at the end of the night, and after I had left for my honeymoon, apparently lost his keys. This staff took the place apart trying to find them. They moved heavy furniture, left no seat cushion unturned...and it turns out that he had picked up the wrong jacket. If you want an amazing memory, have nothing to worry about except the fun things (All I did, pretty much, was pick out flowers, try cakes at bakeries, play Princess Dress Up at bridal stores and write some vows), and you was to say "I do" in a beautiful setting in a well priced venue, go to the Stillwell House! My friend got married here a few weekends ago and when I arrived for the rehearsal I was taken with how lovely it was and how cozy it felt even though it is so close to some, now, very busy areas of downtown. The courtyard is so lovely and it just a very Tucson venue, charming and intimate. For the bridal party we were provided with a room in the back near the kitchen, which had a mini-bar and a mirror for us to finish getting ready. It isn't a very big room, and luckily there were only 5 of us, it is nice, but not a lot of space. The house itself is very stunning and during her wedding we had a cocktail hour and drinks served inside while they set-up the dinner tables and prepared the courtyard for the evening. The food at the cocktail hour was really nice and it was a nice cool area to be in, as it was unseasonably hot outside. My main complaint about this place was the attitude of the woman who was running it, as well as some of the staff who served dinner. It was obvious there was some tension between the team working the event and it definitely was evident to some of the guest. I'm not sure how big the weddings are that they normally host, but we had 13 tables and not every seat was full. I have some mixed feelings on the food, as the salad that was served had a super spicy dressing, and although it tasty nice (and I love spicy food) it was a bit too much for the salad. I had the fish, which was nice, but nothing special. Looking at the other reviews, I think there are better options available. It seemed as though certain people were assigned to serving certain tables, but when the food started coming out the girl who was bringing us food was quite rude and not very friendly. She kept repeating what she was holding in her hand, which I know is annoying, but she didn't do it in a nice or friendly manner at what so ever. When it came time for the toast our table was over looked and received no bubbly. I went inside to let them know and found out two other tables also did not get any, and when I told the lady who was running it, she yelled at her staff without any sort of acknowledgement that she would send someone out. Eventually they came around as the toast was finishing. The lady who was running it also wasn't very accommodating when we asked if she would put some cards on each of the place settings, one of the other bridesmaids had to ask her to do it. It mainly seemed like there was something else going on among the staff, but some of them were quite lovely, so I don't want to say it was everyone. And I did enjoy the venue very much. I have worked in customer service for a long time and I know how difficult it can be and how demanding weddings can seem, but it doesn't excuse being rude or ignoring what the wedding has asked for. We weren't asking for anything that hadn't already been agreed upon, I am glad to hear others had an amazing experience! It seems this was just a one time thing maybe and my friend (the bride) was happy so all it all it was great. There was room for a dance, a photo booth and we weren't left with any clean-up other then taking away what we brought with us, which included the left over alcohol and cake. I have been to a wedding and a company dinner here and it is my FAVORITE party venue that I have been to yet in Tucson. The ceremony was held outside on a brick patio and the bride and groom stood under an arch covered with vines and flowers. Beautiful! After the ceremony, the guests moved into the house on one side of the patio and had drinks and appetizers. While we had appetizers, the staff set up tables on the brick patio for dinner. We moved back out to the patio and ate dinner as the sun set. After dinner, music and dancing took place in another building on the opposite side of the patio from the house. The building had several sets of double doors that opened up onto a veranda. Guests who wanted to hang out instead of dance could sit at the dinner tables or on long cushion covered benches on the veranda. From the veranda you could hear the music and watch the dancing. The venue is well maintained and the staff were very professional and efficient. If I was going to do it over again, I would love to get married here. read more

My bestie had her wedding here and it was so romantic to made the event special. She had her wedding in the brick courtyard that had topiaries and flowers around the archway. If the weather was bad there was a back up plan to have it inside. This was also pretty nice. Instead they had their reception inside. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the tables were set up upstairs. Other than that each room is whimsically decorated. What a perfect place to get married! I had attended a weddign at the Stillwell house a few years before my own wedding and knew then that was where I wanted to get married. The decor is beautiful, the lights and all the plants add an air of magic. Kelly was so kind and helpful during my wedding planning process, even when I had a mini breakdown. The food was delicious, and everything was set up perfectly how I wanted it and how I imagined in my head. We were probably more proactive in the decorating and planning than most parties andWilma did test us on occassion but she knows what shes doing and come the day ,everything ran perfectly. Overall, a beautify venue located in the heart of Tucson. The staff are professional and well organized. The food is delicious, and I don't think you will find a better deal for such quality in Tucson. I highly recommend Stillwell House and Garden! Here are some of my experiences: We had two priorities for our reception, good food and a good bar, and Stillwell house delivered on both! We chose the prickly pear BBQ chicken and green chili mashed potatoes and it was a hit. Even the picky eaters in the family loved it. We served two signature cocktails and some varied liquor, wine, and beer. We loved that you provided the alcohol so you are paying for what you want to serve, and not for things your guests won't drink! The bartender got both our signature drinks perfectly (whiskey sour and cranberry margarita) even though I forgot to give him a recipe. He even through in cute garnishes. We loved that Stillwell house serves all drinks in glassware, no un-classy clear plastic cups here! Other bonuses to having your wedding at Stillwell house is that they have a wide variety of tablecloth colors for you to choose from at no extra charge. They also have items for your centerpieces such as vases, containers, picture frames, and mirrors. All you need to do is provide candles, flowers, etc. I forgot to order flowers for the guest book table, and Wilma made sure that the table didn't look empty. Other than a few items for the tables, I loved that the venue needs very little decoration. My mom was delighted that they do so much of the set-up and tear down for you! We did not have our ceremony at the Stillwell house, and I would agree with some previous reviews that this venue has wedding receptions down to a science. If you want to deviate from their set path, you will receive some push back. Honestly, in the end I would say push for what you want, but remember that Wilma and her team had years of experience and they are really trying to make your life easier you your wedding day perfect. I also read some reviews about sales and different price quotes. I was concerned with this as I was getting married on a holiday so they would be charging an additional "service fee". Additionally, the 1 week promotion for signing after you visit fell on a holiday, so they said they would extend it to 2 weeks. Hold your ground and learn to negotiate and you will get a fair and excellent deal! Finally, we were also a small wedding, and some things were forgotten like serving cider to the kids for the toast. Oh well, nothing is perfect. I notice this, but my guests were non-the wiser. One downside I found in planning was that the since it is a wedding venue, most weekends are slammed with events. Therefore, you will need to schedule most of your meetings during the week, during business hours. This was a challenge for me as I had a fulltime job in PHX. I recently got married here and everything was perfect! the staff as very professional, the food was delicious, and the venue was beautiful!!! they can be a little hard to get a hold of on the phone but they always call back. Went to an event here with my wife. I'm not sure if the group provided the extras (bar drinks, DJ, Food, etc.) or if the Stillwell house provided it but it was honestly just average at best. The venue itself is nice. But the room off of the house is a bit small and the ceiling is low which is not my cup of tea. The food was ok they had Sonoran dogs but they were definitely cheap hot dogs. The artichoke dip was average typical dip. The DJ was not good. Didn't play to the crowd and played some random songs and it killed the vibe of the event. The bar had some of the worst alcohol and was very limited. If my wedding was here I'd hope that wasn't the alcohol they provide because they would have been better off going to Costco and getting Kirkland's rather than what they provided. All in all not sure how much they paid for the space but our event tickets were pretty pricey for a suboptimal experience. My wife and I recently hosted our wedding at Stillwell house and had a fantastic experience! Their staff in charge of helping organize the event are very thorough and helped us make sure we didn't forget anything. On the day of the event, their event staff was very helpful with setting up and improving decorations when needed. After the event, their staff carefully packed everything for us, organizing all of the decorations, gifts, food and helped load them into our car when we were finished. The venue itself is a beautiful place for a wedding or even less formal events! We received several compliments from our guests about the venue and food (which is catered by El Charro). Even several people involved in the wedding (baker, officiant, photographer, etc.) all gushed over Stillwell House when we mentioned that was going to be our wedding venue. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place for anyone considering having their wedding here! read more

I tried several times to contact these people (both by email and phone) for our event. They have never called me back. I guess at this point, even if they did, I wouldn't want to use their services. If they don't have the courtesy to even call you back, I'd imagine their services would reflect the same. read more

We celebrated our 50th anniversary at the Stillwell house last month. It was the best venue choice we could have made. Both Wilma and Kelly were great to work with. Wilma had great suggestions for us to help us prepare. The day of our event everything looked beautiful. It was the perfect setting. They handled every detail perfectly. The appetizers set up in the cantina were abundant and very nicely presented as was our dinner of prickly pear chicken. All was delicious. The staff was very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. We could not have asked for more! read more
