No response to my question. I sent a question about my wedding dress over a month ago and nobody responded

I had a formal for a wedding that needed hemming. I didn't want to wait till the last minute so I took it to Sue 6 weeks in advance, expecting it to take several weeks to be done. I was surprised when she called me a week later to tell me it was completed. Sue did a superb job. I am so grateful to her for making my weeks before the wedding stress-free. Last year I had 4 prs of my son's heavy denim jeans repaired where he had ripped them up out hunting and several months later took his tuxedo pants in to have the waist and hems let out before his school prom. Took in a knit sweater of my great aunts that was unraveling and they left it looking like nothing ever happened in the first place. Never have had a problem with this store at all...always been greeted cheerfully even when several people were already there waiting... The jeans took awhile to pickup but with their apparent workload I wasn't looking for miracles in speed...! read more

Took a pair of slacks with a partially torn pocket for mending. The stitching on the repair was sloppy, the thread didn't come close to matching. I mentioned that I was a little surprised and disappointed when I picked up the pants, but they were adamant about their work. When I got home, my wife - who sews - spotted a lot of errors that I couldn't have. When I called to politely express my disappointment, the man (Russell) got snippy and hung up on me. His wife, the owner, called back and ultimately apologized after explaining more. She also admitted that she hadn't done the work herself. Given the poor workmanship and lack of care for customer satisfaction, I won't take anything back here and wouldn't recommend trusting any garments to them. read more

My husband took a sport coat in to have sleeves lengthened. Woman there said his arms were different lengths but the lengths she used were totally wrong. (My husband tried the jacket on when he picked it up but did not have a mirror to view it.) Sewed the buttons for sleeves through the lining. Used a presser instead of a sleeve board to iron sleeves so now they have creases at the bottom of the sleeves. Everything about the work was amateurish. The worse thing was that the jacket had food stains on it. This jacket was brand-new and just out of the plastic. read more

I should have looked at reviews before doing business with this gal and her husband. I was in need of having some pants hemmed for an upcoming wedding. I explained to the husband that I'd need them within a week, he said, no problem, but it'll cost you for expitditing. I went over to the lady's shop, which happens to be in a small shed/shack outside of her home. I walked in and should have turned around & walked back out! The small shop was dirty, dusty, and had a filthy carpet. There was no room to change into, so the husband stepped out of the shed and I had to undress in front of the owner/Sue and some young neighbor child. Again, go with your gut instinct, but...I gave them benefit of doubt. I explained my need and Sue informed me that it would cost $40 and that she had to be paid up front, cash or check...3rd red flag, should have been enough to make me walk out, but...I agreed to her high fee. She claimed that because my material was chiffon that it was an extra cost. I actually wasn't too surprised by the cost considering that her husband had already informed me of the $$ for expiditing my pants to completion. A week later, Sue calls and tells me that the pants were ready, I informed her that I'd be over on Thursday at 5:15 and that I'd call first as I was leaving work to let her know I was on my way. (I had let her know that I had a busy schedule and that Thursday was best for me). I called & got her vm, which said they were either with another customer or stepped away, so I assumed that she would be there as previously agreed by phone. I drove to her home/business which is out in the sticks and a young neighbor kid informed me that they were not home. This child went on to tell me that they went to the grocery store. So, I wasted gas driving over there, and was ticked that she didn't honor our agreement. I left her a note asking where she had been and to call me. An hour after our agreed upon time, she calls me back and says, you can come over now. I explained that I'd already been over at the agreed time of 5:15. She then lied and said that she and her husband had to assist a neighbor with a flat tire. I replied, your other neighbor said you went grocery shopping and she didn't say anything, just let out an aggrivated sigh. I asked her why she wasn't home at the agreed upon time and she proceeded to give attitude, telling me not to be rude, I replied, lady right now I'm not being rude, but you are. She starts yelling about how rude I was and to just come back over to pick up my pants. I replied back...lady, I live on the opposite side of town and just got home from my previous treck to your home. But, I will be back tomorrow to pick up my pants. Again, she yells, that I'm being rude and she doesn't appreciate my attitude. I finally ended our call with....I will call & pick up my pants on Friday and hung up. I ended up calling at 9am on Friday and told her that I was heading over to pick up my pants, course I could hear the tone in her voice, but she agreed and we hung up. I drove back over to her shack/shed and the door was open, she came out as I was getting out of my car with my pants on a wire hanger, I had left a nice wooden hanger, but, it was a mute point and not worth inquiring about. I took the pants, even thanked her, but replied, I won't do any future business with you and she said, she wouldn't either. I said, not a problem for me and as I'm getting into my car, her hillbilly husband is yelling at her to shut the damn door. So, I departed and gave them a middle finger salute. Bottom line...look at reviews, read their rebuttals, which are full of lies and make a uniformed decision. Safe yourself the time, money and aggrivation and go elsewhere. These people are not honorable to their word and the filthy shack/shed environment should have spoken volumes about them as supposed business owners. read more

It took over two months to get a zipper put in and I had to call twice. Went to get dress when I was told it would be done - yet, dress still was not done. Going back to other seamstress because this was the second and final time for this business. Previous job took a long time too. When picking up dress, another customer was complaining also about turnaround time. read more

Heartbroken my dress was ruined this was for a wedding. I did get a refund but short changed for the cost of the dress, but the point is I lost the beautiful dress that I was going to wear to my sons wedding. I would not recommend Stitch in Time for any alterations. I give No star! read more

My husband took his jacket to A Stitch in Time to have the zipper replaced. He had to pay for the job and willingly did so. After two weeks he went back to see if the jacket was ready and the woman owner told him it wasn't ready and "you have to take your turn." After 5 weeks I decided to go get the jacket and the money back. The two owners were there and the woman was fairly pleasant. She told me the jacket wasn't ready and I asked for our money back. She searched the store for the jacket. I was afraid she wouldn't find it but she finally did. As she was figuring out how to return my money I asked her why she didn't just credit my husbands credit card. She blew her stack and yelled at me about how she pays 6% on each transaction. I said okay just give me cash. Then her husband began yelling at me. I told him I would not be back and he really blew his stack and yelled and pointed at me, told me I had a smart mouth and to shut up. He yelled many insults at me and I asked him to stop and just give my money back. I have NEVER been treated like that by anyone and certainly not by a store owner. I did get the card credited and left. My opinion is if you want to be abused go to this business. If you are like me and avoid abusive behavior stay as far away as you can from "A Stitch In Time." read more
