Extremely organized and clean space. Air conditioning. Only issue is it's not accessible for anyone with disabilities--it's up a narrow flight of stairs on the second floor. I saw the finished work and am very pleased in the way the final stitching is done as if bought from a store. The pleasant young lady who served me was right about the approach to shortening and what kind of stitching. Afterall, she has the experience not me. I believe it was the owner, but he was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The price was also very reasonable! $60 for hemming a multi layered gown and taking in the shoulders (and he even pressed it for me as a complimentary service). Compare this to the $50 at Stitch It in the mall that I paid about 7 years ago, to hem a cheap polyester dress! This shop will now be my go-to in the area for alterations and dry cleaning.

I needed a few alterations done and found this place that was close to me and seemed reasonably…read morepriced. I had two dresses that needed work - one that needed a zipper replacement (except I wanted to replace the zipper with a heavier one and make it visible as opposed to invisible) and one that was way too large in the bust. I say all this because I think there's some complexity to what needed done, as opposed to a simpler "this needs hemming". The first dress was done with no issue, looks great, once I communicated what I wanted they had the exact right hardware and it's sewn wonderfully. The second dress - I have no idea what magical elixir the tailor was drinking but it fits perfectly. The straps are the right length and the bust now fits me instead of someone 2-3 cup sizes larger. I am SO pleased with these results (priced very well also) and will continue to bring clothes here. Note: this is a different business from North York Premium Dry Cleaning, which also does alterations. They're close to each other with similar names but are different businesses.

I immediately called my usual alterations shop, but they were fully booked and couldn't fit me in. After reading the excellent reviews for Pearl Alterations, I decided to call. The owner encouraged me to come in straight away, explaining that once he saw the dress he could give me a quote and let me know if it could be completed before my flight. From the moment I met him, he was warm and welcoming. He immediately put me at ease during what was quite a stressful situation, and I felt confident that my dress was in experienced hands. When I tried the dress on, I honestly wasn't optimistic. It fit terribly around the bust and I couldn't imagine how it could ever look flattering. Within minutes, using just a few pins, he completely transformed the fit. I could suddenly see the beautiful dress I'd hoped I'd bought! The workmanship was exceptional. Satin is notoriously difficult to alter, but every change was beautifully executed and completely invisible. The dress now fits as though it was custom made for me. What impressed me even more was his professionalism and attention to detail. He had the dress finished two days before my flight, giving us time for any final adjustments if needed. Thankfully, none were necessary because the fit was absolutely perfect. During our conversation, I learned he has over 40 years of tailoring experience, and it certainly shows. My wife went in to address a clear mistake on an alteration, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner she spoke with was extremely rude and dismissive. The tone and behavior came across as outright misogynistic, which is both shocking and unacceptable in this day and age. What's worse is that we've trusted this business for so long, but this experience completely shattered that trust. I cannot recommend this shop anymore. Treating loyal customers--and anyone, for that matter--with respect should be the bare minimum.
