I am looking for a tailor and so I sent 1 quote out but somehow Yelp sent it to a few other places including this place. Within a few minutes, Stitchknit responded and asked further clarifying questions. It appears that my dress could maybe just be needing a tip on how to zip up the dress. I was going to go to her but then when I looked at the location, it was over 30 miles for me. Stitchknit was willing to help me even if it was just giving me a tip on how to zip it up. When you're 5' 6" nothing fits off the rack, and when you're traveling to Tokyo "casual dress" and "Michelin Star" can coexist, but having my pant cuffs drag along the floor certainly would not. Sue is a wonderful woman who runs a good business. I had a jacket with a button that had fallen off and I called in the morning for availability. She takes walk-ins routinely. When I got there in the afternoon, she was able to take a look quickly and offered to stitch it up right away. Sue demonstrated how it was done and explained as she went along- even reinforcing the button on the other side so it would not pop off like the main one did. She turned down payment for the button. Sue, owner of Stitchknit is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She was able to alter 4 garments on a tight timeline. One dress was very complicated with the way it was originally sewn and what needed to be done, but due to her decades of experience, she was able to alter it to my liking beautifully. She took the time needed to initially fit it. For the more complicated pieces, she had me come back for one more fitting to ensure it was to my liking before making it permanent. It was. She was absolutely spot on. I even added on two of my husband's pants at the second fitting that needed hemming and she did not bat an eye at the extra work on my tight timeline. As a bonus, Sue is a great conversationalist- very personable. My order was due on Jan.6th; she had it done by Christmas. In the end, all 6 garments were perfect.
