At first, I loved this place. They offered laser nail fungus removal, and were honest about the effectiveness. The laser removal worked well for the first few sessions, then the office went to shit for me. I showed up to what should've been my last appointment. They put the ointment on my toes, then came back and cancelled my appointment because the machine was broken. Such a waste of my time. They need a part from China, but weren't sure when they'd get it because of Trump's tariffs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made an appointment for 2 months later, then called the week of my appointment to make sure that the machine was working. The front assistant put me on hold, then said it was working. So I show up, wait, go in for my session, and then am told that the machine is NOT working. And they're not even sure that they'll get it fixed! I had surgery on my foot. I saw the very same x-rays as the Dr. who performed my foot surgery. And he, without hesitation, told me to tape my toe to the rest of my foot. ?!? I have many foot issues and was looking forward to this appointment as I need help with recovering from a surgery I had three years ago. I really liked the advice. I got that didn't recommend surgery! He gave me exercises, helped me with shoe choices and recommended that I use some orthotics that I had specially made, but had not used for fear they were going to hurt my feet. Was charged $150, as my insurance was charged $350 so $500 to scrape a callus off my foot and the callus is still there and painful. I have been seen Dr Lin for several months for a wound that was having trouble healing and because I have had this wound I have had the inability to work for over 7 months now and finally got accepted into the full Medi-Cal program... The doctor had put stitches in for the third time on this wound and the office refused to see me because I didn't have my $20 copay and my wound is close to being healed up it needed further attention with stitches being in place and they refuse to take me in. This appalls me that a $20 copay cannot be waived or billed.. for the sake of helping this wound to heal. read more

My mom referred me here when my 10 year olds toe nail lifted. My mom spoke very highly about this place so I called. I was soooo grateful they had a same day appt for us. The office is closed for lunch until 1:30 pm, but there were a few people waiting at the door by 1:20 pm, and the staff opened early, which I so appreciated! I filled out a few registration forms and was called back pretty quickly. They explained what to expect and the staff were so kind and professional. A staff member even brought my baby girl a cup of water. The doctor came in, numbed my little girls toe, and pulled and cleaned her nail. We were out in about an hour, which I thought was great since we had a same day appointment and I had another appt scheduled for 3 pm. For any parent, seeing their child cry and in pain is hard as it is, so when a medical office and staff actruuly helps ease that pain is beyond words. read more

My 85 year old grandfather fell, hurt his foot and came in for assessment. They X-rayed him, told him there was no break and there was nothing they could do. He spent almost a year in pain and limping. He finally went to get re-assessed by SCOI, they x-rayed it, showed us all where the very obvious break was. I dropped a phone on my toe, the corner of the phone and edge of my toe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was my first visit, with no welcome, smile, or acknowledgment, just "your name?" the front desk is too busy for anyone to feel comfortable about choosing this facility.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My only podiatrist in my long life was not accepted any more with my insurance, so I was assigned Stockdale Podiatry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff has no life in them and the doctor I saw was very proud he was a doctor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] X-rays were taken, he saw me, looked at the paper, went out to look at the X-rays, returned stating, "It's either a hairline fracture, which nothing can be done, or an ingrown toenail, which I can cut away with surgery." Knowing how it happened, I don't think it is an ingrown toenail and since nothing can be done with a hairline fracture, I said I wasn't going to have surgery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon hearing my decision, he told me to come back and see him in 3 weeks if it continued to hurt, turned around and left the room, with the girl who was with him.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I just sat there, decided he was done with me and I put my sock and shoe on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I was trying to find my way out, this was my first visit, I asked a group of girls standing at the end of a table which way to the exit, no answer. I raised my voice and said, "Excuse me...which way is out!". Great with my autistic adult sons, not so much with normal adults. Bed side manner matters no matter what, the recognition of our concerns for ourselves. I saw Dr. Pasavoc in January regarding heel pain and part of his recommendation was to order custom insoles. After hearing that I was a teacher, he stated that "you have a great plan that allows you to get a free pair of insoles." I went ahead and had him take measurements that day to get them ordered. On March 4th I returned to pick them up and met with Dr. Pasavoc again. He gave them to me and told me again! "you have a great plan that allows you to get a free pair every year." Wow, I was happy to hear that and left with my new insoles. Come to find out weeks later that I am, in fact, being charged a portion of the insoles. I immediately called Stockdale Podiatry and spoke with the billing dept. and explained the situation. I told them if I had known they would have cost me I would have, without a doubt, denied them. They responded that the Dr. should not be telling patients what is/isn't covered under insurance as that is not their specialty... After going back and forth, they ultimately said this was my responsibility. The billing dept. had no interest in helping me with the issue and didn't even apologize for the misinformation I was given. Additionally, this place is stuck in the past and doesn't do any sort of online payments (which I believe is on purpose in order to add on a finance charge). After 3 weeks of mailing in my initial payment, I received another letter saying they hadn't received my first payment with a cute little late fee attached. I called them and they stated they hadn't received anything and perhaps it was lost in transit... Interesting... read more

I am a caregiver for someone who goes there. My client is overweight and uses the wheelchair there. I have a bad back, and it is hard to push him around with it, but I always have. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One day I was feeling sick and asked them to bring him out to my car, and they refused. So I had to bring him out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently, I had gotten him into the office, and when this big guy called David I believe called for him I explained that I wasn't bringing him in because my back was in so much pain, and that he needed to. When he was done with my client, he made me come back to his room to get him. He hadn't even put on his shoes and socks!!! So I had to bring him out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Obviously some of the workers there are only thinking about themselves; they think others are there for them, not them for others. They have their job, and they only care about the pay; not the quality of their work. This place only gets 3 stars because Dr. Flores is effective. Be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes to an hour each time you have an appointment. It's ridiculous that they can't schedule better. And this has been going on for over a year. They overbook and so you can expect to waste your time waiting. Seriously looking for another provider. read more

We love Dr Flores! My teenage daughter needed a surgical procedure done but the words "surgery" are so scary when they involve your child. Dr Flores and everyone else we encountered at Stockdale Podiatry group (and the surgery center he uses too!) were great though! After we first met with him we were much more at ease about the procedure and the whole thing was a breeze. I went for an ingrown toenail removal, all four sides on BOTH toes. It has been a painful issue for me for many years. I saw Dr. Liviu Pasaboc, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He was kind, and not at all rushed. He explained everything and answered all of my nervous questions. I received the very best care from him and his team. He was thorough and explained all the steps as I wanted to understand everything. Ask to see Dr. Pasaboc, he is the BEST and will take excellent care of you. Seems like a bunch of people are mad on here...take it with a grain of salt, my experience was nothing but positive. All done in roughly 45 min. It's been 2 days, I am following instructions, pain-free, and healing well. Will update in a few weeks. read more

FRAUD! I came in to follow up regarding a toenail infection that I was treated at Cedars last year for. Last year all I had to do was clip my own toenail drop it off at Quest Diagnostic and paid $5 to test the nail. I only tested the 1 nail in question. It had been 9 months and I now was in Bakersfield. The doctor clipped a nail of each foot for $150/each, like WTF for if you can see all my nails were healthy and I'm not complaining for. That's the equivalent of an orthopedic doctor saying they need to X-Ray each elbow to compare when you are following up one the one you injured. They ran so many different phase codes, and sent me a bill of $2k+. I never went back. I went to Quest paid $5 and they told me I did NOT have a nail fungal infection as these FRAUDSTERS claimed. O rating. Dr. Huber was terrible. My 16 year daughter saw him yesterday for bunions. His first comment to us was " I don't usually deal with bunions," so why were we scheduled with him? Next he told us that they don't do bunion surgeries on anyone under 25 years of age, but since I have good insurance, he's sure that I can find an unethical doctor that will. His "recommendation" is for her to wear wider shoes and open toed as often as she can. We live in Tehachapi where it snows and her school doesn't allow open toed shoes. I had ingrown toe nails on both sides of my big toes and I was really nervous about getting them out. They have bugged me for years and I always got them cut at the nail salon. I wish I would've gotten them out sooner here at Stockdale Podiatry. Dr. Hawkins was my Dr. and he did an amazing job about talking me through the procedure before, during, and for all the after care. He distracted me while having light conversation and before I knew it the procedure was over. The office ladies were also nice and I was called back to the room within 10-15 minutes. My husband had an appointment today and he was turned away because when they ran his medical ID card they couldn't verify coverage. He called me from the office. I called our insurance and verified coverage and the fact this office is a preferred provider. The insurance said they would happily verify coverage over the phone. The office staff was too busy to call Aetna and turned him away. I in turn called the office to speak to someone about this and could not get anyone to speak to me. If I could give this place a zero stars I would. I see why their ratings are so low. The Dr ordered me some inserts and the girl comes in with an iPad which was weird to me because I have had inserts made before and they take a mold of your foot. Well I pick up my inserts and they handed to me and I got a shot and was on my way. Well I don't try them out right away because I have been busy and it says try them out for an hour one day and the next like 2 hours and so on. I work with special ed kids I can't do that and on the weekends I stay home and don't wear shoes in my house. Well I went to put them in my shoes and they are way too big and sooo flimsy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I have tried calling them and the phone just kept ringing and I finally was able to leave a message and I didn't hear back from anyone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I called again and some lady answered telling me that once I leave the office they can't do anything about itshe said that I should've tried them on when I was at the office and I said how was I to know that. They just handed to me and gave me a shot and I was on my way. I had flip flops on so I don't know how I could've put them in my shoes but anyway she said that they can't do anything about them being too big because I left the office and I said well then I'm not paying for them. I'm glad they don't like to take accountability for the mistakes that their workers do. So now I will be spreading the word about this place and how they treat their patients. I should have checked Yelp before I made appointment here. As of this writing this podiatry practice has 2.5 stars, and I'd like to add a review of my experience to give context. I'm giving one star. I made an appointment for arch pain I'd been having. Upon arriving for appointment, I just want to confirm what everyone else says about the front desk staff and general vibe here - it sucks. Rude, uncommunicative, grumpy, dismissive. Strike one. My "evaluation" consisted of X-rays. That's it. The doctor (at least I guess he was the doctor) barely examined me. He was in the room two minutes tops. Didn't ask me to stand up, walk, anything - just asked what the problem was, which I explained. He prescribed a steroid and a painkiller, gave me a xerox page of stretches for Plantar Fasciitis (I don't have any heel pain, just arch pain on one foot) but didn't show me how to do them or have me demonstrate to make sure I understood. Very little was communicated to me. I asked if he thought I'd benefit from a custom orthotic. It was like a big dollar sign lightbulb went off above his head. "Oh! Sure! We can do that for you!" In other words, I am the one who suggested it - I barely inquired about it and the next thing an assistant was "fitting" me for them. Which consisted of a 30 second scan with an iPad with a camera on it. Then they said they'd be ready in three weeks. I made sure to communicate I needed these insoles for strenuous athletic activity (long distance hiking) and the assistant (doctor was long gone) insisted they'd be the athletic type of orthotic. Upon returning on the scheduled date, I was sent to the exam room where eventually a totally new person I'd never met before showed up with some orthotics in a baggie. Here's the extent of what was communicated to me: "Here. Put these in your shoes for an hour a day, then two hours a day, then three, and so on, till you get used to them, otherwise your feet will hurt." That was it. They didn't even check to see if they were properly fit to my footbed- literally they didn't even take them out of the bag - it was just "Here. Take these and leave." How in hell do they think this is good care, or even COMPETENT care? This is pure negligence. How in the world do you not CHECK the orthotics on your patients feet before you send them out the door? The orthotics were NOT designed for athletics, either- the heel was nearly an inch high, they were incredibly hard, and when I did finally try them in my shoe, I couldn't even wear the shoe because the heel was so high my foot wanted to come out of the shoe (your basic trail runners). I'm not even exaggerating when I say that your standard Dr. Scholls inserts are closer to my footbed and arch than the "custom scan" they took in 30 seconds with an iPad. Not only that, whatever lazy "scan" they took of my foot clearly didn't work out because the heel cup was WAY skinnier than my heel and therefore CUT INTO the bottom of my heel when I stood up in the shoe. These were impossible to wear. Which they would have KNOWN if they'd checked them against my footbed in the freaking office visit in the first place. How negligent can a medical practice be? (Oh, and of course they billed for an entire exam visit, which thankfully I only had to pay the insurance copay for, but still. Give me a break.) The "custom" orthotics are in the garbage can and this place can go to hell. What a waste of my time and money. They're clearly only interested in one thing - fleecing patients and insurance companies out of tons of $$$. They certainly aren't interested in communicating with their patients properly. Just read other reviews on here. Someone from the health boards should seriously think about investigating this place. What a scam medical practice. Should be shut down. I've since found a podiatrist in town who actually listens, communicates, examines properly, and actually tries to help heal the patient, and where you're treated by someone who gives consistent care so you don't have to explain your problem to THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE, none of whom give a shit. Thank God I found somewhere else. If you value the health of your feet, DO NOT GO TO STOCKDALE PODIATRY. They simply don't care about you - only about your wallet or your insurance company's wallet. They don't "treat your feet" - they treat their profit margin. Dr. Pasaboc is just the sweetest doctor I've ever encountered. I went in because I broke a toe and was referred to his group. They did a set of X-Rays on my first appointment and Dr. Pasaboc reviewed them with me. He was really good about breaking down the issue and explaining how long it'd take to heal. He also took the time to answer all my questions. The people at the front desk are ok, I guess. One spoke to me in Spanish before I could get a word out, and I confusedly replied back in Spanish. And then when I caught on and spoke in English, she continued to speak in Spanish . . . I thought it was pretty funny. Also, apparently they speak Spanish at the front desk. They're a little curt during interactions but not offensively so. And their appointment cards are on foot shaped cards, which I thought was cute. The wait times are usually around 15 minutes, which isn't too bad for a medical office. But yeah, Dr. Pasaboc is awesome. While I hope I don't break another toe, I'd definitely go back and be treated by him if I did! read more

I took my 7-year old here to treat a wart on his foot that was causing him pain. The doctor "froze" the "wart" and left him screaming in pain for two days. Wart is still there, the doctor didn't even freeze the wart and now he's left with a half dollar sized lesion on his inner foot. When I questioned the doctor about the location of where he applied the cryotherapy, he just said "it'll be fine in a few days." Complete negligence. Please avoid this place. read more
