Back to see doctor Davis, my appointment was for 8am. I arrived a little early, my wait in one of the nicest relaxing comfortable patient areas was short. I was called back at 8:05 by a friendly professional nurse she took my vitals and had me remove my shoes sorry I didn't her her name. Davis came right in. Dr Davis remembered my last appointment and the cause of my discomfort, we discussed his last treatment and my result's. We decided on another visit in 3 months . Dr. Davis was spot on in his diagnosis, and treatment my results have been positive. The entire staff and my experience has been outstanding. I was back in my truck at 8:35. read more

Dr. Zimmerman is the best doctor/surgeon i've ever seen! He takes his time explaining things, and i always felt like I was in good hands. I came in about a month ago for my bunion surgery, and got a lapidus procedure done on my right foot. His incisions were quite perfect and he talked me through my entire recovery. 10/10 recommend! Follow Up Review: My surgery was performed on December 3, 2024 at the Bakersfield Specialist Surgery Center (BSSC). I currently have an ingrown toe nail . I had my appointment October 20 2022. Since I work at warehouse I need a permanent solution so I went with option two . I was told that they will call in a week . Two weeks later they still haven't call me . So I called them . According to them they are completely booked and no longer are accepting patients for the month of November and December . Excuse me? I told the lady in the front I was here in October 20 the doctor had to send a referral back to my insurance company to let them know that I wanted a permanent solution. So the lady in the front said well we are fully booked for the month of November but can you wait until mid December 19 . Than I ask her if there's any doctor that will take me in sooner . She said nope sorry . You will have to wait intel December. So I was pretty mad and upset about it because I walk up to 10 to 20 miles daily 6 days out of the week at the warehouse .So just imagine the pain that I am right now . read more

Love love Dr. Zimmerman! He has been so amazing during my healing process. After almost a month of no progression and much discomfort I went to see him late in my injury and as a second opinion. I found out I had been misdiagnosed and under-treated. Dr. Zimmerman immediately did an ultrasound on my ankle, he was able to throughly answer all of my questions and really took his time with me. Dr. Zimmermans fast approach, thorough exams, tests and basically starting from scratch has really improved my healing process. After just a couple of weeks I started to finally feel some relief. I booked here on the recommendation of several runner friends. After months of plantar fasciitis and foot pain, I knew I needed a second look. When I first tried to schedule in early November, it took SIX rounds of phone calls to get an appointment. First they scheduled me at the wrong office, then had to reschedule because they didn't realize I was a new patient, and finally, they were having issues with their system and couldn't book. Rather than take information from people so they could call us back, I was just told to "wait awhile and call us back to see if it's working again." No, that should be your job. Don't waste my time asking me to check in - take my name and number and call me back. It's that simple. When I was eventually scheduled, it was a nearly 7 week wait. That's ridiculous, and I should have used that as an opportunity to look elsewhere. Moving on to my appointment- it went ok. I saw Dr. Nguyen. He diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis (expected), and gave me basic instructions on how to treat it at home. I left frustrated because he seemed to not fully consider that I also told him I was experiencing pain in multiple parts of my foot, and that I had been doing many of his recommendations already. I scheduled a follow up before leaving, figuring I'd need one. Fast forward 6 weeks and my foot still hurts. In fact it's worse in parts. Something isn't right, but I didn't get a chance to tell my doctor because upon arriving for my appointment (that I added to my calendar *during my first appointment*), I was told I had no appointment. Now, I could understand incorrectly entering the day or time, but they had NO appointments on my record. So at some point, they either failed to save my appointment or canceled it without telling me. I was given the option to wait for just over an hour, or reschedule. I opted to reschedule, simply because I don't want their errors to cost me my time. I hope my pain can be treated, but so far I've been woefully unimpressed and will not be encouraging anyone to use this office. read more

I moved from LA where I was being treated at the UCLA Podiatrist group in Valencia CA. I have been dealing w Morton's in my left foot and needed a cortisone shot since in moved to Bakersfield. I called Dr Ximmermams office to make an appointment. I was SHOCKED when Dr Zimmerman's office refused to see me because I wanted to pay cash verses go through insurance. I would give no stars if I could.... I saw Dr. Hento for the first time the other day and she was no help at all. She seemed to have an attitude with me right lfd the bat and was getting frustrated with me pretty quickly. I have no clue why but I was getting frustrated myself and I know she knew I was cause of how I was acting. I didn't act like that until after awhile she kept telling No, that's not what I'm saying, several time, actually the whole time of the visit. My husband was in the room and noticed that I was not happy and wanted to leave. I did without getting any help, meds, etc.... I wouldn't recommend that doctor to anyone. I am 50 and have a heart condition, including having had a few heart surgeries. Nonetheless, I've been to numerous doctors (and even a few podiatrists), and my doctor's appointment with Dr. Zimmerman was by far the most thorough, detailed, and explanatory doctor's appointment I have ever witnessed. The other podiatrist appointments I've attended were rudimentary with far less technology and antiquated in comparison. I have some hope where I didn't before, and I am so thankful that although Dr. Zimmerman is a busy surgeon, he clearly treated my conditions with recommendations like I was family--honest and upright, and against surgery given my symptoms. Dr. Zimmerman also had state of the art equipment for treating my conditions. Can't recommend him highly enough. Usually, busy surgeons just want to do surgery. I was very impressed. read more

If you go to this podiatrist and get Dr Jex, run away as fast as possible because I had foot surgery back in 2009, and my foot got deformed from the surgery performed because he took a bone out and left me with no arch, and now it's too painful to walk. Prior to having hammertoe surgery on two toes I requested a quote for my portion after insurance covered. I found out three months later that the quote did not include the Millenium Surgery Center fee. My surgery is costing me triple what I was quoted. Also, it is now four months since the surgery and my toes are still very painful, swell and I cannot bend them. I had the surgery because of occasional pain in the top of my foot during the Winter months that Dr. Jex assured me the surgery would eliminate. Now, I can no longer wear ANY of my shoes, walk or do yoga without intense toe pain. Previously I had no problems doing any of these things. If you currently are not experiencing major toe pain on a daily basis, stay away from hammertoe surgery because afterwards you will experience regular pain along with a major loss of function and flexibility! read more

10 years ago Dr. Brown cured my plantar fasciitis with a series of cortisone injections. Lasted about 8 years. He has retired so Dr. Hento was who I saw this time. Started out well as she really seemed concerned. However she could not pinpoint what my pain was due to because the scan didn't show any signs of much inflammation. We decided on a cortisone shot and when she injected it I moved because she didn't freeze it enough. Left me with more pain than when I started. She gave me a boot which didn't help. Long story short Dr. Belzck of Stockdale Podiatry group touched the sore spot and said the bursa sac was inflamed. I am in physical therapy and it is doing so much better. I can actually walk a little now. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not the type of person to spend my time giving reviews online. I think I've only given two in my entire life, because the service was so incredibly good I would have felt bad not promoting them. This was not that type of experience. I went to see Dr. Jex about eight weeks ago with an achilles issue brought on by poor fitting hiking boots. I waited in one of the patient rooms for nearly an hour to see him. This certainly did not make a first good impression, but I understand that this is sometimes just the nature of the medical profession, and I don't hold that against them. Upon meeting him, he seemed friendly enough and listened as I explained my symptoms. I was given an ultrasound and he confirmed that the tendon was not ruptured. What happened next is why I thought it necessary to get off my butt and write this review. Dr. Jex strongly recommended I get an MRI (very expensive) of my foot to confirm that nothing was wrong. When I asked how the MRI results would affect my treatment of the foot, he gave me some roundabout spiel and directed the conversation elsewhere. I figured, whatever, I'll deal with it when they call me to schedule it. Then, I asked him how I should treat the injury and if he had any recommendations for rehabilitation. He told me all I could do was take it easy for the next month or two and avoid further injury. Fine. I got a call a few days later to schedule the MRI. I told the phone attendant that I'd like to speak to Dr. Jex briefly about the MRI and get a better understanding of how it would affect my treatment. She told me she'd leave a message with him and he'd get back to me. I never got a call. In the medical profession, there are certain types of doctors are notorious for recommending diagnostic tests that do nothing to benefit your situation or change your treatment. I am always disappointed when I meet these doctors because I know someone else is buying into the bullshit that I'm not (and the fact that I'm getting billed for listening to it). After that I decided I was done with them. Since the injury was still bothering me about 2 weeks ago, I decided to use the web to self-diagnose and treat. It literally took 15 minutes to narrow down what I had (likely acute tendonitis) and find a few reputable rehabilitation exercises. After doing them once per day for 2 weeks, my achilles is feeling great. I just got the bill and it really sucked having to fork over $180 ($700 w/o insurance) for a service I feel I didn't truly receive. One of two things happened here. 1) Dr. Jex is incompetant and was unable to diagnose and offer treatment advice or 2) he had some idea but felt that he'd wait to weigh in after the expensive MRI scan. Either one of these is pretty unacceptable. I also just learned that one of my roommates went to see another one of their doctors (not sure which one) and he said his experience was much the same as mine. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is because there are other doctors in this facility and the facility itself was clean and modern. read more

Absolutely like Dr.zimmerman, he has done two very successful surgeries to my lil guy. HOWEVER! the older women who sits in the front desk without the scrubs is absolutely rude. She Seriously lacks customer service, and she needs to be moved to the back were her unpleasant face is not seen by patients. It is very upsetting to see that she bad mouths patients to her colleagues in the front lobby! Dr Zimmerman... Had surgery on 06/02/14 for a Ruptured Achilles tendon... Was place on a partial cast for two weeks. Today was my follow-up visit... Heather Hento assisted me in improving a chronic pain in my Achilles tendon. She discussed the various options for treating the injury, from the least aggressive to the most aggressive. She generally encouraged me to start with the least invasive treatment, but over the course of treatment, she always let me make the decisions. There was never any pressure to make quick decisions regarding any procedures. And she's a very personable, pleasant professional. read more

Dr. Davis completely messed up my mother-in-law's foot. He performed major foot surgery on her, and put a booty on her foot to supposedly protect it. He pulled the stitches way too early, and he pulled her pins without any medication to block the pain. I would never recommend Dr. Davis to anyone looking for a good foot surgeon. Dr. Zimmerman performed two foot surgeries (one on each foot) this year for our 12 yr old son. He is a extremely personable and he made sure our son feel at ease. Dr. Zimmerman explained the surgeries to us and our son so that we felt comfortable in understanding the procedure. He was thorough in his explainations and was happy to answer any questions we had. As a parent, it is tough to make a decision to have your child undergo surgery, however we could not have chosen a better surgeon for our son! We are thankful for him and his office staff.
