Keep your eyes out for great deals. When booking it did say that it could be a double or two twin beds but upon arrival I clarified we wanted a double. Our room was a perfect size for two young adults who don't require too much space and didn't spend too much time in the room, but yes, it was kind of tiny. Reception was super helpful. They gave us tips on how to get around and great suggestions. It's not right in Downtown Stockholm but it wasn't far from transit and we were still near a lot of sights. On our first morning we went to reception to query about breakfast because upon check in they didn't tell us anything. They said based on our level in the hotel, we weren't entitled to breakfast. When I showed my booking and the email I received, they remedied it right away and let us head to breakfast which was delicious. The place had a nice view and great selection. I looked forward to breakfast each day -- having a mix of local things like herring, plus the typical boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, toast, fruit. Everything was flawless in their service, cleanliness and we were okay with the location and size of the room because it's what we expected!

With the discount, we only paid $150/night for a room. The location for the hotel is great! It's about a 15 min. walk to the Stockholm Central Station and really close to Drottninggatan street which is although touristy is very busy and fun to walk down. If you need groceries, the hotel is also very close to a few Coops. The rooms are small but clean. The beds were comfortable and had super puffy pillows and thick blankets. They have a hand soap dispenser at the sink and a body soap dispenser in the shower. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you want higher quality, since my friend was saying the ones in the dispenser dried out his hair. They do provide a hair dryer in the room. Breakfast is small, but free. They offer a variety of rolls, breads, crispbread, scrambled eggs, bacon, jelly, smoked meats, pickled herring, pickles, muesli, dried fruits, apples, oranges, canned fruit, cookies, and pound cake. The breakfast ends at 10am, so go earlier to avoid the crowd. The gym is located two floors below the lobby. It supposedly closes at 10pm, but I was able to stay well past 10pm. You just need your room key card to swipe in. The gym is small, but has the essential weights, treadmill, elliptical, and a couple weight machines. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us with recommendations on what to eat and how to get around via public transportation (although we opted to just walk around everywhere to see the city). I was able to buy postcards and stamps at the front desk. Postcards are 10 SEK, stamps are 13 SEK. You can drop your postcards at the front desk for them to mail. This was only my first time to Stockholm, but I recommend this hotel, especially if you can get the friend/family discount.

We followed the google commuter route suggestion and got here within 1.5 hours using the 3 day travelers pass, no extra cost. The 74 bus also takes you to Stanskull underground train to Central. Keycard provided needed to get up elevators which is a good security measure. This hotel has a sauna and workout floor at the penthouse on 15th with great views of the ski slope. Room has wide window to look out from. Water pressure is fantastic for the shower and shower gel provided. A yelper commented about no toilet paper, but maybe staff just forgot about it that time. Tea and coffee making facility with a kettle. Tap water is drinkable! Room has a safe and heating temp is perfect this cold Feb night.

We paid extra for a private room, however for over $100 a night you might as well pay the extra $50 for a normal, clean hotel room. The bed was not made when I arrived, and they didn't even provide a fitted sheet to cover the yellowed mattress. We opted for a room without a window, which is fine but there's also a huge pipe thing going right through the room. Overall the room is cleanish but also has a funky smell. Again, this is a hostel but at this price I would have expected a little more, especially considering you can pay a third of the price more for a room in a hotel with a window.

You don't really get a tour guide on this boat to tell you fun facts about the things you see, you basically just sit and ride the boat. The seats are limited so you must get there early for a good seat. The main seats are not facing towards the water so you really have to turn your head if you want to get a good look outside. On the good side, you get to see the beautiful estates around Stockholm and watch endless fields of trees ! If your goal is to get to the palace, you really don't have to get on this boat. The boat ride to the palace is about an hour long, it's a 15 minute drive if you decide to get to that palace. This boat comes every hour.

I was in pain for the four nights I had to stay there on business. And of course the only bedding was a down comforter, which means you either boil in your own sweat or are too cold, no middle ground. Additionally, every single day one of us would have to go down to the front desk to get our room key repaired, it would stop working. Pros: The lobby is beautiful, the breakfast is nice, but none of those things compensate for the painful bed. After about 6 hours of trying to sleep, the only reason you get up in the morning is to make the pain stop!
