The Centre is filled with high ceilings, natural light and is always kept clean and in great condition. Parking is ample and free and surprisingly spacious for a suburban carpark. I'm a fan of the variety in the centre and how it is a one stop shop for people on a mission.

Venture even further to the surrounding areas. You'll find my favourite op shop Aggies, the Unley library, restaurants, and more recycled boutiques on the strip lanes of Unley Road. I enjoy coming here, plus if I want to venture further, I drive along Arthur St and find my way to Hyde Park. Another adventure awaits me....and another Yelp review.....

The Firle Plaza has all the main necessities, a Coles, Kmart, fruit and veg shop, and a newsagents with a post office inside it. There is also a great hairdresser, a bargain shop and the most important establishment of all, a Liquorland! With a bakery/coffee shop as well it has everything you need to do your shopping and then put your feet up for a little rest. The only bad thing I would say about it is the parking is SHOCKING. Having been in the car park A LOT I have witnessed so many minor crashes from people just not looking before they pull out and because of the small size of the aisles between cars. My tip is to park on the Glynburn Rd side and walk the extra 100m, it will totally be worth it to save your car from someone backing into it. And try and exit the car park onto Glynburn Rd too, you don't need to pull out into the main pathway of traffic where a lot of people pull out without even looking. My horn has had a working out since spending a lot of time in that car park.

Why?…read moreWell, probably not because it is 'the' hotspot to hang out in the Eastern suburbs but because it's close to where I live and really has all the shops you would have to frequent for your weekly household needs. There's one massive Cole's that seems to be open all the time (it closes at 9pm during the week and reopens at 12am, for all those of you who work late or just fancy late night grocery shopping). Liquorland, K-mart, a bakery, Commonwealth bank and a newsagents have also found their homes at Firle. There is heaps of parking and it is easily accessible, with 3 entrances, from Glynburn Road. It is also walking distance to Oporto and Dominos (just opposite the road) and has a KFC, a Thai restaurant and a laundrette to its left-hand side. Next to Firle, on the right, is a hairdresser, a Priceline, a video rental store, Caffe Primo, Chicken Coop, a gym and an Indian grocery store. If it's not in Firle Plaza, it's right next to it. Amazing! Note that opening times vary according to each different shop but most are open till 9.

Centro Arndale is a lot bigger than it first seems, and its labyrinthine set-up can be confusing!…read moreIt's a great local shopping centre, as it has everything you need and lots more, so is great for the necessity of weekly shopping as well for some fun shopping on the side. There are two supermarkets and two department stores here - Woolies, Coles, Harris Scarfe and Big W, as well as three bakeries, which I think is spoiling us! There is a great range of clothing shops for younger and older women, and some casual and formal clothing shops for men as well. They have three Bric-a-Brac stores, including a Reject Shop and two similar independent retailers. The food court is small, but there's enough to choose from, if you're not feeling like bakery wares. There is also a central court which is getting ready for Chinese New Year celebrations at the moment, and has a stage for any concerts or public events. Add to this several hairdressers, banks, a newsagency and bookstore, a fresh fruit store, several shoe shops and bag shops, and you have yourself a great shopping centre with more local personality than the Big Boys like Tea Tree Plaza.

It just feels (and looks) unclean and sad. I used to come here back when I was studying at Regency, very convenient, if you aren't looking for shoes you should be out of there pretty soon clutching what you need. Just try not to get lost, I wandered around in there for a good length of time trying to find the cinema, which by the way has a separate entrance, wish someone had told me that! I think with a coat of paint and a different demographic, I could quite like Arndale.

Full of discount shops - what's not to love!…read more I've usually been pretty lucky here, being able to pick up a bargain if I feel like a bit of 'pick me up' shopping. My mum and sister are both much taller than me, with long limbs and have found it more difficult to find items they like in their size. With the more recent addition of NoniB though, mum is much happier! There are a good mix of shops as well as options to eat or grab a drink. My favourite is Cherry Blossom sushi for a quick energy hit. All that shopping can require some refuelling. There are gift vouchers available and although nearly all the shops partake in the Harbour Town gift voucher system, there are a few where they aren't valid. There is a list available at the office, which could be worth checking if buying a gift voucher for someone who loves one particular store. My favourite store, Art to Art is there, closely followed by Novo Shoes that has some awesome shoe bargains regularly. A kind of weird tip I'd like to share is about walking along near the playground in the middle. I've been walking along window shopping, to only nearly twist my ankle and fall over. The playground area spreads out into the walk area and is totally soft and spongey! High heels sink in and the ground becomes inconsistent and difficult to walk on. Probably fine if wearing flats, but a bit disconcerting if not dangerous, if not!

It is a food hall essentially but does have a range of stores and services built in as well; quite a few decent male clothing stores on the slightly higher end price wise, but good stuff - I bought a pair of ankle boots at one of them recently, marked down from $300.00 to $125.00 so pretty good bargains at the right time of year. Food wise it is a reasonable spread of Asian, Mexican and if you wander into the David Jones Department Store food hall you get sushi and regular Anglo type seafood platters (fish and chips) and a glass of wine. There are stores for hair dressing, electronics stores and a newsagent among the other specialty shops you'll find in here, and if it is a really hot day you can come up into Rundle Mall via the entrance at the rear avoiding a little more of the topside heat. The toilets are usually clean and there is always paper available certainly in my experience in the 'Mens'.

I often stop in at the newsagency to buy pens or magazines, and the chemist for medicine, tissues, hair ties, or any thing vaguely chemisty. I also love broswing through Bed Bath and Table. The main drawcard for me is the free wifi. I'll either grab a chai smoothie from T-bar, or just find myself a table, and set up my computer to do some work. There are bandwidth limits, but I've never experienced a slow down. I sometimes work here for hours, when I'm finding too many distractions at home. There are plenty of other stores like The Body Shop, Pumpkin Patch, and I think Esprit might still be up the top, but I rarely venture above the food court unless I'm going to David Jones.

There is a cafe, newsagent, chemist, bottle shop, baker, credit union ATM and a chicken shop among others. The car parking is well laid out with a central pedestrian walkway so you can park and then walk easily to the front door. of the mall. Now that the trees are starting to mature, during summer there are also some shady parks to be had.

Things are changing in this corner of the metro area. The historic buildings but more so, the vast…read moreland spaces of the old railway yards are giving birth to the current modern style of shopping precinct. One day it could be imagined it will join up with the home hardwear section to the South, and there will be a kilometre long stretch of capitalist opportunity. It's unfinished yet but the basics and more are here to make this the go to spot for those in the local area. While it's new and expanding it's even worth to come here from further away every once and a while. There us a chance it will have shops not in your area. We can see this easily becoming a 5 star rating when it is completed. But, for now, we will certainly be back.

City Cross is located in Rundle Mall, with entrances from Gawler Place and Grenfell St also…read more It is a really nice, clean shopping centre with a food court and many cafes and retailers. Upstairs you will find Billy Baxters, a post office and Harvey Norman. I believe there is also a party supplies store but I have never paid much attention to it. You can also access the post office from the escalators leading up from Gawler Place. Downstairs, there are fashion retailers such as Hotline and the popular Bardot. There is also Charlesworth Nuts (yum!) and Boost Juice, among a few eating and drinking options. Daily Bread is really nice, so is Oporto. There is also Indian and Sushi available, as well as your KFC and Hungry Jacks Express. The place has plenty of fresh air and the food court doesn't get stuffy. I won't comment too much on the toilets, however. All I will say is they need to get their act together. On the up side, City Cross has a wide range of stores, making it one of the better places to shop. Just don't go to the toilet.

City Cross is a big food court flanked by retail outlets. The food varies a bit, but isn't bad overall. The food outlets frequently change hands and theme here, and based on its location (and likely rent), it doesn't surprise me. This changes things up a bit though. One week some place will be doing stir-fry burritos, the next it'll be donuts. I like the layout of the food court as well. You don't feel as if you're packed into a big set of troughs here as levels and options for seating vary from couches to bars. Most of the stores in the complex are the type that benefit most from walk-by traffic. So, people coming in to eat and commuters making their way through have plenty of opportunity to distract themselves and dispose of their cash between bites.
