Only Chevy/GMC/Buick dealer in Newberry. We accompanied our friend to advise her on purchase of Chevy Trax. She found a new 2026 at this dealership list price $22K. Didn't see any haggling of here's one price let me see if we can do better type shenanigans. This was probably in part that she was set on buying this car so didn't put any argument against the price. We got there about 2 on Sat and left after 5:30. The sales people were straight shooters on what was the price, the extra coverages offered, and steps of purchase process. The lobby waiting area is modest but there's enough seats, and they have this auto coffee machine that could make about 11 varieties of coffee! Some charging ports, vending machines around near restrooms. The trax in pic attached is actual one she purchased off the showroom. The ease of the buying process and generally low price would have me consider coming here out of Columbia, so congratulations. read more

What Happened: October 23: Received written quote for $1,118/month on 2026 Tahoe High Country Thursday: Paid $500 deposit (told refundable if not approved "under quoted terms") Friday: Submitted credit applications (787 FICO scores - excellent credit) Saturday: Sales rep TEXTED: "approved with the A+ tier with bank" (GM Financial's BEST credit tier for 780+ FICO scores) Monday: Quoted $1,483/month (D tier pricing, NOT A+ tier as approved) Monday: When I questioned the $365/month increase, dealer responded: "That was before your credit application had been submitted" - THIS IS A LIE. Saturday's text was sent AFTER both applications were processed and we were confirmed A+ tier approved. THE FRAUD: Confirmed A+ tier approval Saturday (via text message sent AFTER credit applications processed) Charged D tier rates Monday ($1,483/mo instead of A+ tier $1,050-1,150) Made FALSE STATEMENT claiming quote was "before credit submitted" when their own Saturday text proves applications were already processed Overcharge: $365/month = $13,140 over lease term We have 787 FICO scores. I left my car for repairs on June 25 for warranty work as I would be out of town. I asked that it be ready by July 6, when I would be returning. On July7,, I called about my car and they had not even looked at it to determine how to repair it. They have had it for 12 days!!!! This is 2nd time I have had this happen with a repair. They do not even give you the courtesy of checking to see about the repairs. My car just sits there. Their service people totally suck at customer service. Since I bought the car there, I thought I would get good customer service when it came to repairing it but I am totally wrong. I wouldn't recommend purchasing or having your car taken there for service. As I said, they totally suck!!!! Plus they could have called to let me know that they were backed up but I would think in the 12 days they had it, they would have at least looked at it. read more

Of course the salesman was all positive and I liked his personality, not pushy at all. But...I was told the finance people would get me the best interest rate available given my over 800 credit rating. Well, didn't happen. The finance guy Scott Wollman did not do this at all. The rate he got was .80 over my best rate I got on my phone sitting there in the chair. Only reason for this was to increase the dealer kickback from the bank. Grr. So, I had planned on waiting to pay off after the dealer would get 1K kickback from GM, BUT AS SOON AS I GET THE PAPERWORK IT WILL BE PAID OFF, hoping they don't get a dime in holdback or rebate. I'm filling a complaint with the dealer, GM and maybe even Consumer Affairs. I really shouldn't have done the deal, but I did and that's on me. Also, did not like it that the initial deal was for a different truck at the internet office, with Dale; but the next day I go back and choose another truck with better options, but didn't get all the rebates, because Dale want there, another guy did the paperwork and I got hosed. Again, I'm really stupid in how I handled this deal and that's on me, but the shenanigans the sales manager and finance guy did was just wrong. Really love the vehicle though. If you go there, be positive and don't trust the finance people to be fair and honest. By the way, I did point out the fine rate to the finance guy and his response was, it didn't matter cause I'm paying it off in a couple of months. My vehicle was taken TWICE to these people for service code on turbo charge. Buick Corp is who said take it in because a special warranty has been put in place for known turbo charge problems. First and second time I tell them the codes it was giving and also told them vehicle was using excessive antifreeze. Both times I was told there was not a turbo charge issue nor an antifreeze problem!! When I went to pick it up 2nd time and paid the $1,150 I was quoted to get my vehicle running, I heard it not wanting to crank when service man went to get it! He was not even going to tell me it didn't want to crank!!! When I told him I heard it and what's the deal with that? He says he don't know but he called mechanic and mechanic said he didn't know why either. They told me take the broken vehicle home and bring it back in the morning! I live 30 miles away! I asked him was he serious and did he really expect me to drive the not repaired vehicle after I just paid him $1,150?!?!! He said yes and bring back tomorrow! I had no choice but drive it. It did not want to crank again after I had made a stop AND ran hot!!! I called and told him they would need to come pick vehicle up because I did not want to break down on the long country road I'd have to take to bring it back. They did come get it and brought it back with A BLOWN HEAD GASKET AND A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $15,000 AND STILL KEPT THE $1,150 FOR REPAIR THEY DID NOT DO! I am a 14 year Army veteran and a disabled grandmother, due to breast cancer fight, raising my grandson for 12 years and I did not have the money for the $1,150 repair!!!! I sold heirloom jewelry to get the money for the repair because I desperately needed a vehicle. My son in law was in tragic wreck March 2024 and my daughter had had to be his 24/7 caretaker and neither have worked since wreck due to his brain injury. My vehicle was theirs and my only mode of transportation! Kyle L. knew this information and knew how desperately I needed my vehicle to keep my entire family afloat! Not only did they not do the repair correctly but they then blew the head gasket in the only vehicle I had! I do not have money for another vehicle and this has put me and my family in dire straits. It has been almost two months and I still have not recovered from this! Do yourself a favor and read all the reviews on this company before you trust them to do any work in your vehicle! I only wish I had chance to do over! Please learn from my mistake! GO ANYWHERE BUT STOKES TRAINOR! AWESOME experience selling my used 2018 RAV4 hybrid. They could not have made it easier. Text and emailed all info, came to pick it up at the location of my choice, had check in hand, signed bill of sale and clear title and took the keys. I needed a copy of the fully signed title to submit to NC DMV several months later and they went through their archives and found it and texted it to me.
