My wife and I live several towns away and happily drive the hour plus round trip to receive amazing personalized care! Every time I walk into that beautiful environment, I am transformed back to a time when you went to your family doctor and were treated like a longtime friend. We started out as chiropractic patients and were gently and carefully treated and healed for every pain we had. Doc Stone does not rush into anything. If you haven't been treated for an extended period of time, he's not going to start treating you until you go through a time tested process (which sometimes means starting from scratch). I have been going to Dr. Stone for a few years now. I had injured my foot and after several months of physical therapy with little relief a friend recommended, I see Mark. Within a few weeks of starting treatment, I was able to walk without pain. I was so impressed with the care I received from Mark and the wonderful women in his office I talked my husband into making an appointment for his back. I started utilizing the services of Stone Chiropractic a few years ago after my wife insisted that I see Mark (see above). I had been plagued by Lower Back Pain (LBP) on and off for years. At that time, I was experiencing LBP along with neck pain and stiffness. The staff at the office was very friendly, professional, and concerned about my well-being. Mark treats everyone like they are a member of the family and his bedside manor reflects that personable atmosphere. My LBP and neck issues have not resurfaced since my initial treatments. Dr. Mark Stone and his team are probably the most friendly and professional Chiropractic specialists. I have been going to Mark for over 25 years. He has corrected my Sciatica issue, and is always available for adjustments. Many years ago when I was still in the Army, I had a lower back injury that was supposed to put me out of commission for over 2 weeks (according to the Dr.'s at the Groton Sub Base.) I have been Dr. Stone's patient for many years with ongoing positive results. I highly recommend Dr. Stone's services to family and friends alike with no reservations. Whether one suffers from sports injuries, the occasional pulled muscle, or chronic conditions like IBS or CP, Dr. Stone's and staff's special blend of patience, compassion, and humor can make bearing the burden of chronic conditions easier. One of the great things about Dr. Stone is that he never competes with the medical community or warns you away from your M.D. or physical therapist Rather, his aim is to provide additional coping skills, which can be beneficial to sufferers of chronic conditions. For example, if a wheelchair user complains of soreness in the elbow or joints when driving his/her power chair, he might suggest the use of a cold pack on the sore area for a brief period, however, if the issue persists or the relief from the cold pack is insufficient; Dr. Stone will then tell the wheelchair user to in fact see his/her therapist or M.D. to attain the best and longest-lasting solution possible. Lastly, Dr. Stone provides common sense, basic nutritional support, which is a wonderful preventive measure useful to maintain overall optimal health. He reminds patients regularly of the benefits of restful sleep, plenty of water, and above all, the importance of limiting the use of carbohydrates and sugars in one's daily diet. I recently went to Dr. Stone for numbness and tingling in my arms and hands. The combination of Chiropractic treatments and PEMF sessions over the past few weeks has helped me get back on a healthy track of feeling better. Dr. Stone and his team are incredibly friendly and very professional. I've been seeing him for over 25 years and he fixes me each and every time. I started a new program with him a year ago. I have to state my disappointment with the service and cost of an hour long appointment. Dr. Stone is professional, but I did not find his service to be outstanding or particularly helpful. In fact, today my back hurts more than it did before I saw him! I was charged an absurd amount of money for a supposed "New Patient" file - when I had been to this office 5 years ago; I had medical history on file in this office (it was pulled out and showed to me during my appointment). This has never happened to me at any other doctor's office, and I was charged $250 for another "New Patient" file to be opened, an adjustment, and some tape. They claimed it was "protocol" and according to "state law" - which I find to be extremely odd, as the receptionist asked Dr Stone if I should be charged as a "new patient" before billing me, and he nodded. This was after she was sure I hadn't been to the office in 5 years and having pulled my file out to show me.... so why'd she ask.. if it was "protocol" and "common practice" wouldn't she know after having worked there for some time? Afterwards, I was told that "Yes, the reception/file clerk knows, but she is just so overwhelmed and busy"...meanwhile there were 2 other people in the office and no one else at the reception desk but me. She seemed completely capable and friendly, so I think her ability to juggle her work has absolutely nothing to do with the outrageous charges. I also stated my disappointment to her (the receptionist/office clerk), and asked Dr. Stone to call me to discuss... (You might think that $250 for 1 hour would grant you a call with the Doc...but you'd be mistaken!). Lastly, but of course the icing on the Chiropractic Cake...I was told by Doctor Stone's "office manager"(?) that I could take my file elsewhere if I was not happy with the charges (yes, again, this is after I paid them $250 of my hard earned cash!!). BY the WAY! Accepting Medicare insurance so that everyday people (you know those who don't own houses, don't make professional salaries, etc.) can afford services is something for Doc Stone to consider.
