This illustrates the inconsistent distance between stud and back of countertop. One showing an inch from stud, the other is against stud.

We purchased our countertops at Lowes. They use the contractor Sage surfaces, who then user another contractor, Stone interiors as the fabricator. I purchased my countertops in beginning of March, I was told it would take approximately 6 weeks to complete. Because of multiple trips to measure/remeasure plus all the mistakes in fabrication, IT TOOK 19!!! Countertops weren't complete until July 10! This was after multiple screw ups by Stone Interiors. On the 1st attempt, the slab that holds the sink was measured wrong, then 2nd try the whole left side of my kitchen counters were crooked (I was going to post a couple pics below showing this part of what I'm referring to). One of the worst parts about THIS attempt was they left it like that and called it a day. I got home from work and couldn't believe my eyes. I called immediately and asked them about it because I was concerned about the backsplash not fitting correctly with the inconsistent distance from back of counter to studs. Their response to me was "If the backsplash installer knows what he's doing he will be able to make it work." They were very wrong, backsplash installer said there's no way he could install it with the countertops looking sitting like they were. We would have to move all electrical outlets forward. Also, it wouldn't match the line of the wall so the backsplash would look tilted. After the 3rd attempt it was finally right. I expected a large amount of compensation back due to all the inconvenience. We spent almost $9,300 on these countertops. Their response was "As a good will gesture we'll refund you $500." Yes, you read that right $500. How insulting. It seems as though lots of big home improvement stores use these guys. I WARN YOU don't use LOWES for you countertop projects. If you do, when you have troubles like I did (and I'm sure you will), Lowes will not advocate for you at all. THEY DON'T CARE EITHER. What a headache of an experience.

Stone Interiors recently installed our new countertops. The overall process was simple and speedy, they even worked with us to install before I had my father in town who was to install our backsplash. Highly recommend them!

This isn't from removing old countertops - this is from when they were installing the new backsplash. The person pushed debris into the wall

Waste of Money & Terrible job - The pictures show what Stone Interiors consider, "incidental damage". If that's the case I'm glad they didn't do "real damage". The workers were also rude and dismissive. If you are in the market for new counter tops or any tile work for that matter I would recommend working with another company. They demand 100% of the cost up front and after we paid the "deposit" they did a poor job communicating, scheduling, and of course installing. We should have trusted our instincts and gone with another company.

Two installers spent two hours working. Then called in a supervisor. He left without speaking to me. They announced later they were done. I signed the ok sheet. They left and as I was wiping down the counter discovered they'd cracked the counter in two places and did a repair job with the intent to hide the cracks. (They also placed my sink in the hole, which I thought was odd because I needed to caulk it and connect the plumbing myself) to hide some of the damage. I'm guessing that's why the supervisor was called in and what he told them to do. I notified Lowe's (who uses Stone Interiors) an hour after they left. Lowe's contacted Stone Interiors who said since I signed the paper they were not responsible and refused to make any attempt to replace the counter or refund any money. Lowe's refunded half my money out of their own pocket. Now I have to live with a brand new cracked counter. I also had given the sink template (that came with the sink) to the guy from Stone Interiors who came to measure. The template clearly showed it needed a 21 1/4" hole cut. The installer ignored the template, measured the sink and cut a 20 1/2" hole. I had to recut the hole to get the sink (which has a raised inner edge) to sit flat. Stone Interiors is a crooked, deceitful and incompetent company.

Just a quickie review, because I have not engaged this business directly in the course of a…read moreproject. However, I reached out to them because they were one of the only places in possession of a specific material I discovered and badly wanted (which is discontinued and in short shrift) for a long-awaited counter replacement. A representative contacted me to inform me that they only installed in their state (which is to be expected for these services). However, the rep also located a similar business very close to where I live, a business that carries this line of products, and explained they might have the product. I spent a lot of time looking for this brand near me, and didn't find this business- which is why I was emailing SC from NYS. I never would have found it on my own (I am a relentless searcher and hadn't), and they didn't have to take time out to help out someone who can't use their services. But they did. This is a long review for a relatively to-the-side-of-the-point anecdote, but it's the kind of anecdote I'd like to know when deciding who to let touch my modest but well-loved house. I was very, very thankful for the lead on this thing I want so badly. Thanks, Solid Surfaces :)
