The company has been in the area for several years now but I only recently used them this spring for 2 jobs. The first job was small (clear flower beds, add mulch and rocks, etc...) and the company did a decent job and had this been the only job then 5 stars would have come from me.... I then hired them to plant/install an arbor vitae fence for $5000 and this job was done incorrectly. I'm no "professional landscaper" but I'm pretty sure trees need planted in top soil, not mulch. And that is exactly what I got, trees planted in mulch, which in turn has made all the root-balls dry out. The trees are currently dying (1 is dead completely) and it has been like pulling teeth to have the company fix this issue. So far the "fix" was to have a member of the company's crew come out and water the trees. All the water in the world cannot fix something that isn't planted correctly to begin with. I never thought this would happen after hiring what seemed like a reputable business. 06/24/2015: the owner finally contacted me back after i reached out multiple times, looks like i am not getting any money back, and he has yet to commit to any type of real fix. I paid $5000 for an arborvitae fence and all trees were planted in mulch, that is right, mulch. Landscaping 101 dictates you plant items in topsoil. Then after months of contacting this company, they finally came back and used topsoil in place of mulch. But alas, it was too late and the 6 foot trees died and now some 4 footers are on their way out. They also threw in a free plastic edging when they came back to replant in topsoil but they even installed that wrong and it took two times to get it installed right, but the thought was nice. Company seems more focused on getting paid than doing a complete job. Then when you leave a review they delete it or hide the page (referring to Facebook here). SM&M you win, I cant deal with hounding you anymore its too time consuming, I will cut my losses and move on. Lesson learned, thank you SM&M. read more

After reading the other reviews I want to add my own about the egotistical owner named Jason. He took off for 3 week vacay in the middle of my job. Um, thanks bro appreciate it. Then he had to come back with various crews to keep redoing the work. I must have seen 4 different crews so I stopped and asked a couple of the peeps and they said there is a lot of turnover there because of the minimum wage they are paid and the mean temperament of the owner. Wow, glad to know. Wont be using this place going forward, want to hire someone that knows what they are doing the first time. Owner also leaves a ton of debris behind, not tidy at all. read more
