We worked with Michael and the crew at Stone Water Tree to redesign/revamp our front yard. We loved the general layout of the area, but the plants were overgrown, difficult to maintain, and the space was not functional for the front yard socializing that makes our neighborhood special. Response time was prompt and the pricing was competitive and totally reasonable. They had the lowest bid and started right away. Usually, I am wary of going for the lowest bid but their write up on the quote was very detailed and explicit on the work being done so I felt like we were on the same page. We had a fantastic experience with Stone, Water, Tree. I would recommend Michael and his team to anyone needing a landscaping project of any size. These folks transformed our boring yard (with such "charming" amenities as dead photinias, lumpy grass, and a peculiar piece of fence buried in vines) into a lovely botanical paradise. Michael was the perfect choice to lead this transformation. He took our initial plan and together we tweaked it to make the best use of sun/shade patterns, available plants and hard materials, and our long-range goals. The crew ripped out the old, ugly stuff and installed a great new patio, a gravel path winding through some beautifully graded flowerbeds, a succulent garden, and a charming open area carpeted with low-growing thyme. A great mix of native and well-adapted plants are now taking root, and the team left the entire place perfectly mulched. It's still a young garden, of course, and the lush, abundant look will come in a few years -- but it's also beautiful right now, and we sit on our new patio and just marvel at the transformation. Everyone on the team is super-knowledgeable about plants and hardscaping. We very much liked the fact that Michael has regular employees - folks who are real pros, used to working together as a team -- instead of just hiring temps project-to-project like some firms do. They are such a nice bunch of people. They made the entire process a pleasure. It was a big project and not an inexpensive one, but Michael's bid was very competitive and we feel like we got an excellent value for our significant investment. We had a full landscape, lawn removal, rock work done. Michael did a nice design quickly, and then worked hard to complete the work. It turned out very nice. You can have a nice design done, but it may be handed to a contractor who then gives it to a project manager, etc, none of whom may really be invested in the final product. Michael and crew do the work themselves and are obviously invested in every aspect of it and proud of what they do. They care about every detail of the work. Since he was always on site, it was easy to chat about changes, options, etc. Good knowledge of plants. Did a nice job on the paths and rock features. I have used Stone, Water, Tree, initially at a friend's recommendation several times now. I have never been disappointed. They have done everything from doing some maintenance at a rental , (taking out an old pond and adding a beautiful dry stream bed and trimming a ton of hedges.) Most recently they did all the landscaping, sod , planting native plants and flowers, new bark etc..at a home I had remodeled. They do outstanding work and Michael really cares. He gives you a very detailed quote that spells out exactly what he will do and then will give you options if you want to spend a bit more or less.
