My mother spent her last week on earth at The Serenity House. It sounds old-fashioned and corny, but finding them was the "God send" I was looking for and needing. I was feeling lost and frightened about the process of caring for my Mom in her last days. Physically and emotionally it can be challenging. You love you family and want to take care of them, but the time may come that you need supportive services. The staff at Serenity House were very competent and caring. My Mom was very well cared for and I appreciate how they would brace her with pillows to keep her comfortable and relief pressure. The facility was always clean and the workers all genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and seemed to relate well and respect one another. It is worth noting that it is a very lovely facility and the rooms were very nice. I owe them a debt of gratitude for not only what they did for my Mom (who had dementia) and really slept her whole time there, it is was they provided me. A sense of caring, safety and support in the days up to my Mom passing away. They took the burden and lifted it off my shoulders and I thank them for that.

As my father-in-law declined…read morein health in an Assisted Living, family opted in for services with a smaller hospice agency. They were kind, caring, but in way over their heads. His behaviors became increasingly erratic, needing family to stay with him 24/7, even though he was in Assisted Living. 3 ER trips in 3 days, physicians at the ER were all saying "this is end of life" - but the smaller hospice couldn't support us with the services we needed - basically, keeping him comfortable, calmed, able to rest, and not so fearful. We made the call to HOV and that same day, EVERYTHING was being addressed. He went from literally trying to climb the walls, injuring himself, thinking there were killers hiding in his shower, to resting quietly. We were kept updated by the compassionate HOV team. This made everything so much easier. The stress on family during this time is unbelievable - to know your loved one is in such great care, that we don't have to be there 24/7 while juggling work, home, kids, etc. is an incredible weight lifted. I've also worked with HOV on numerous occasions for work. As a nurse, I'm confident in recommending HOV. I also needed the 8 hours of training mandated by AZ for dementia care - and HOV provided that for free to our entire staff and did a tremendous job. I was given no clue as to what to do,nobody ever gave me any instructions of any kind. Our nurse was useless. Mom got severe bed sores, this lady even lost her felt tip copy of Mom's severe bed sore. The place is spotless and welcoming. They have a small kitchen to use. I also noticed on my way out that there is a cabinet full of games and things to do while you're there. Family members are able to stay there overnight if they desire. There is a sofa and easy chair in each room along with sink and toilet. I'm glad I went as my friend's husband is not doing well. He was resting peacefully and that's all we can ask. They have their own parking.

They never gave her fluids and she was extremely dehydrated which caused constipation! No help! After she died they recommended the worst mortuary ever! She was to be cremated and it took weeks to accomplish and their location was extremely inconvenient to the family! I voice my concerns on their website and they never even bothered to respond! It appears they are all about the money. Although I cannot prove this it appears they obviously get referral fees. They obviously never researched to see if the businesses they recommend are reputable! If you have a loved one in crisis DONOT go to Hospice of the Valley!

Five stars. People are dying to get in here…read more We loved the kind staff and convenient facilities, so it was a perfect place for the imperfect situation. Danielle was especially attentive to our family's needs. The private room was comfortable, clean, and climate controlled, with access to the sunlight outside and a chair comfortable to sleep in. Best of all there were no restrictions. We could visit any time. We even brought in my family member's derpy cat that doesn't blink. He's on the catism spectrum. The lobby is a bit small and dated with a strangely-placed TV, but at least it's cozy, with wifi, plus they have free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water. No waffle iron yet. If you need anything else, a giant market is just steps away. I highly recommend this location, even though they don't have returning clients.

Hospice of the Valley persists at forcing Yelp to remove my review…read more Nurse 'Laura' virtually killed my father by minimizing care, creating an 'Atmosphere of Death,' by discouraging me from taking my father to emergency room while he continued to gasp for breath. Laura mentioned that my father could 'die enroute to hospital,' and that 'doctor would remove existing fluids from his lungs in the morning.' Callously, Laura spoke about my father's imminent death issue WHILST MY FATHER WAS CONSCIOUS AND AWARE OF HER MALICIOUS,CRUEL ADVICE. I left facility shortly thereafter, as Laura discouraged fire department from removing father to hospital,subsequent to my having phoned 911 Laura is an 'Angel of Death,' and should not be a medical professional.
