Even before high school, I used to come here as a kid and always found it to be a safe and comfortable environment. Bordered by Rivington Grove, Kennaway St and Stirling St, Tusmore Park has a number of great facilities. In the summer there is a wading pool for kids, there are two playgrounds plus a fenced area for extra security, public toilets, and a large grass area for sports. BBQ facilities are also available, as well as picnic areas. There is ample street parking, plus the park provides a lot of shade from surrounding trees. It is a beautiful park, complete with five (I think) free tennis courts as well. It does get busy, especially in summer and on weekends, so get there quick.

I used to come here a lot as a child and have many fond memories. Even in my older years I still frequent Tusmore Park for a spot of inner city landscape painting. There is a small wading pool for small children which is covered by a pergola for sun protection. The creek only really runs in the winter time and even then is quite shallow. There is a bunch of playground equipment as well as bbq facilities. The Hanson reserve provides a sizable patch of grass for ball games and the like. At the base of the reserve is a section reserved for the regrowth native vegetation, as well as a sort of little Forrest of older trees, which is great fun for kids to explore. The park gets quite busy on the weekends during summer, when lots of families have picknicks and bbqs. Probably best to get there early to ensure you get a spot.

Secondly, this was more of a three and a half star playground in my books but I can't rate it as a three, it feels wrong :-) For a small area, they have actually done a good job of adding equipment for a few age groups, the only issue I have is that there aren't steps for the littler ones to climb up to the slide. There's a table/chair area to the right of the playground. I couldn't take a photos as there was a family enjoying some morning tea. Got to love a playground that gets used to it's full capacity. Unfortunately I didn't see a drinking fountain, but I'm sure that there had to be one somewhere. It has tunnels (for the dogs to run through), poles (for the dogs to weave through) and finally it has jumps. This park is fully enclosed with high fences and a double gate. (to ensure that your dog will not run away). the park has taps with bowls (so the dogs can have a drink of water when needed) and it has poopy bags to keep the park clean. this park is great in dryer weather conditions but in winter it gets muddy as the park is not entirely covered with grass and bark (watch out for muddy puddles). If it is raining there are shelters with benches under neath and a concrete floor. The enclosed park is a 24/7 off leash dog park but the rest of the reserve requires the dogs to be on-leash most of the time. for more info on where dogs can and can't be of-leash I suggest checking the website. if you scroll down on the website you will see where you can and can't have your dog off-leash. It is pretty convenient in that it is just across the road from the beach, and there are facilities here that one can use to change, or wash down. It was good though, just not what I thought it would be. It is however an Access For All playground so there's a ramp for those children in wheel chairs. This is a park designed for toddlers. And don't worry parents, the entire play area is rubber flooring so if they fall, they bounce lol. I really liked that the toilets are close by but wish there was more (or anything!) in the way of shade. There's a BBQ and a sheltered table/chair area just in front of the toilets. There's also plenty of room for running around on some pretty lush grass. I apologise for there being only one photo. Lovell Reserve is an excellent little park just off Gorge Road in Athelstone. It features popular…read moretennis courts (including the obligatory basketball hoops on the sides), a spacious, shaded childrens playground, barbecues, a drinking fountain and a small toilet block. There's lots of room to spread out, and you can easily drive in to the park to unload vehicles to save trips back and forth. My kids absolutely adore the playground here - it's not the biggest or the best around Adelaide, but it is nice and new, in very good condition, there's a good variety of equipment, it's so well shaded they can play there pretty much any time of day, it's a few minutes stroll from home, and it's never crowded but there's often company there to play with. All round, Lovell Reserve is a bit of a winner.

However once I got here I was quite surprised. It really was very different. For starters it's really quite large an area once you get there. Much bigger than it appears on a map. Not really okay for footy or the likes though as it is very undulating land but it makes it nicer I think. With the little hills built up and pathways throughout. Plenty of shelters, tables, seating, shade, water, even TOILETS!!!! And a tennis court over the other side near the newer looking playground. The older playground looks like a huge fort with plenty of woodwork in it as well. It's great having so many different activities in different are's of this park. You could end up here for a couple of hours easy just checking them all out and going from one to the next. And with toilets onsite why not bring a picnic, or even just some snacks, and spend a few hours here. If you drive best parking area is at end of Pinda Street so try head up there. Otherwise it is like a maze the streets around this one.

It's the most fantastic thing I have ever seen at a playground. It's so good to see children with disabilities being included with a special swing even they can use as well as disabled toilet facilities. They have BBQ's, plenty of seating in the shade of the trees and some more seating under a shelter in the centre of the park. Drinking fountains work! Rubbish bins on site as well. Only minor confusion about this park is that there is a doggy bag dispenser in it, I have seen heaps of people walking through here with dogs and there is a sign at the park itself that says dogs not allowed within 2 metres of playground. Yet when I look up the Council's website it says dogs are prohibited on this Reserve. Then why contradict yourselves with doggy bags and signs??????

This is most definitely a 'destination playground'. Thank goodness I found one! This is a place for…read morebirthday parties, work Christmas parties, get-togethers and why-not weekend adventures. It has wonderful play equipment, lots of space, sheltered table and chairs, beautiful trees and lawn, toilets and drink fountains. This is such a pretty and well maintained area with many walks and sections to the park. I have included a map of the park so you can have an idea of the space and fun you can have there. If you're wanting to have a large gathering at this park, I would suggest calling the Onkaparinga City Council (the number is listed in the business info section) to see if there's a booking system or a requirement to being able to request a certain area of the park. Visiting Thalassa would be a 'whole day' adventure to get the most out of the place. It sure looks like great fun and is definitely on my list of 'places to go back to and explore further'. I'm not sure if dogs are allowed at this park. I wish I had a playground like this when I was growing up! This is suitable for a wide range of ages and looks like a WHOLE lot of fun. I entered the playground from Eyre Street. I wouldn't recommend this if you are with little children. It's a bit of a walk and uphill. Entering from Davey Crescent looks like a better idea. There is a drinking fountain which works!! And there are bench seats but no sheltered table/chair areas. This is part of a much bigger reserve/park area and I'm unsure if there are toilets in another section. Oh, to be eight years old again! It's a good little spot for a walk. I've really only been here to stretch my legs after a long drive, and to let the puppy out to have a bit of a play, but I reckon the place would be enhanced by some shade sails, because while this place is really quite nice, it'd be that much nicer to sit and eat a sandwich and not get a seriously sunburnt neck in the middle of summer.
