The Stoney Cove comes on two parts - the diving and the dining.
The diving side of the Cove is brilliant. People come from all over the country to dive here as it one of premier sites for diving in the British Isles. They have numerous interesting things to dive for - old helicopter, boats, plane cockpit etc.
The cove itself was once a quarry, filled in when the quarry closed down, and some of the buildings are submerged also.
They have a brand new building which houses the dive shop, training pool and corporate rooms and is very impressive
All in all well worth the effort to come for a dive.
Now, to the pub and 'restaurant'.
The Cove (or Nemo's) must be in the top 100 best sited pubs in the country but it is not up to the standard it deserves to be. The building is old and shabby, the decor of the pub has not been changed for over 20 years. The old nightclub underneath ceased years ago. Unfortunately the owners just seem to not be bothered with the pub side of it and have not invested into it at all which is a great shame. With the diving facilities there it could be the complete deal and renowned around the country.
