We played 9 holes at 4:00 and had no backups. $35 on Golf Now. The course is in great shape with the usual hazards along the way. Loved the GPS on the cart. More directional signs to find the holes would be helpful. read more

This is our favorite course in SW Florida! (As copied from CameronLovesGolf.com) First and most important, is the staff. Not only are they all friendly & well-trained, but they just love having kids of all ages come play the course. The course itself has up to 6 tee-boxes on every hole, including junior tees! (Although some Junior tees are better suited for teenagers vs younger kids, so we just tee our little guy up in the fairway of those holes). Course condition - very well kept, especially in season. Over the summer, they had to aerate multiple times, but that is to ensure a very enjoyable experience when prices increase. All of the carts have GPS and will lock on you if you try to drive too close to the greens or the 'no cart signs'. Facilities - Large driving range ($8 per bag of balls), a putting green, and chipping green with bunkers for practice (no charge and plenty of range balls usually on the chipping green). The Pro-shop is fully stocked with rental clubs, gear, balls, etc. Attached to the pro-shop is a Duffy's restaurant, which has great food & happy hours. (chain restaurant in Florida). Playing the course - Not a frustrating course, but challenging enough for better golfers to still enjoy their round. The word is that Old Corkscrew is the hardest course in the area, but we don't find that course THAT much harder than this one. A few of the par 3's are relatively easy here and I would recommend moving back a tee to increase the challenge. The rate of play is average in season, a ranger does drive around checking on people and a beverage cart person does as well. read more

My golf teacher/pro, Kathy, is great! Very patient. The driving range is nice, you hit the balls into a large pond.

Popped in here to practice hitting some balls. An aquatic driving range, and a pro shop up front, with a parking lot (free) and a place to drop your clubs, clean off your shoes, and grab a driver for the cars that you rent to go around the course. The driving range is easy enough to see where your shots land (hard for me to track sometimes) as long as there aren't too many - curious how they manage to get the balls all back at the end of the day! A little wild life and what looked to be nicely kept greens around the aquatic driving range. read more

Great course. I've been vising SWF for several years now, and I play Stoneybrook every time. It's reasonably priced, the course is in good shape, the carts all have GPS screens, and it's an interesting course to boot. Also, I've found the staff to be super friendly. The greens roll really nice but they aren't too difficult. If you're having a good day your score will reflect this. The only really easy hole for long-ball hitters (which I am not) is the 18th which is a short par 5. They will be putting for eagle. We were first off the tee box first this morning at 7 AM and finished our round in 4 hrs flat. Early tee time is highly recommended! I'll be back! read more

Very nice golf course first time playing today. I had a reservation over the phone a week ago and for some reason the pro shop didn't get it. They got us on and they were awesome. The rangers were very nice and so were the bag people. Some of the best greens in Naples for a public course will be back 4 sure. read more

Great place to golf - way tougher then the slope they have it rated at. The greens are only a few months old so you can't stick your ball on the flag. You need to run it to the hole. I played it three times in 2 days and had a great time. My only complaint was with the on-course service - they never came around and when they did, we told them to see us in two holes and that never happened. read more

I'm a resident of the Stoneybrook Community, and I come from a family of golfers who can play anywhere when they visit here, and they all want to play Stoneybrook. Great staff, especially Bobby and Lee. Course is meticulous, with the only exception being around the end of snowbird season....and that is solely due to the volume of non-residents who flood to play the course but have no clue when it comes to golf etiquette. Made an online tee time and was confirmed for 12:45. Go to the course and was told it was moved to 12:52. Got to the starter (they were doing crossovers to cram as many on the golf course as possible) and was told that another group was shoved ahead of me and that he was 15 minutes behind. So, my 12:45 was likely now 1:15 or later which meant I likely would not be done before it got dark (really a slow playing course). The pro shop said it was "high season" as an excuse but I mentioned I play about 8 different courses in the area and had not been treated that way at any of them. He refunded my money and I did not play the course. read more

I signed up for yelp strictly so I could warn others about this place. I played the course with a scratch golfer and a pretty decent older gentleman (in a threesome). On hole 9, after waiting on EVERY shot of the day, the ranger had the audacity to approach out group. As he pulls up, he asks for a distance reading, the scratch golfer says 250 - to which the Ranger retorts, "then HIT the ball, you're holding up MY golf course!" I politely told him we would not be hitting into the group ahead and that we had been waiting on every shot of the morning. He became angrier and elevated his voice. I politely informed him that play was slow bit we were certainly not the cause. He taunted the zero handicap that he "couldn't reach the green"... Unbelievable. At this point, tempers were a bit high and he threatened to remove me from the course as he drove off... He single handedly ruined an otherwise enjoyable round of golf. I will never return, and caution others to play elsewhere. So many great choices, no need to deal with egos like that to play good golf in southwest FL! Oh, and I had time to sign up for yelp and write this review from the course, all without slowing play! ;) read more

Guy behind the counter was a jerk! Treated my 14 year old son like he was an imposition and a bother. All we wanted to do was hit some range balls while the girls shopped across the street. I won't be back. Dude does not understand who the customer is! read more

Very challenging golf course. The greens were rough to read and had many slope the opposing direction you would think. Layout of the course is challenging but not too hard for average golfers. The concessions were good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. read more

Stoneybrook has been a staple for me for the last 6years. Nice track. This year, however the conditions are deplorable. Tee boxes were really sad. All chewed up and bare. Fairways okay. Greens are all chewded up by golfers who do not repair golf ball marks and cannot pick up their feet. Mentioned to (rarely seen Ranger) that group in front was horribly slow and chewing the greens. He said he would check it out. Nothing changed slow & chewed. Stoneybrook is all about get 'em out and so buyer beware. read more

Not sure what happened, but, this course went downhill. Have brought numerous friends to play here in the past but today the conditions were horrible. Dry, brown and beat up! Would not play again without driving through to check conditions!! read more

Do not go to this course unless you want to spend your entire day here. I golfed with a friend on March 2nd here and we were supposed to T off at 12:55. We didn't get to until 1:15. Not a problem except that we had to wait 15 to 20 min for each hole. They over booked the course big time. After a 3 hour 9 holes we decided we had enough and went to the clubhouse were we were offered no appology and were told that is what you get for a public course. I never complain and really didn't expect anything but an appology. None was given. They just need to raise the price and not let as many people on. For now I would recommend old corkscrew up the road for a the money it is worth it. read more

One of my college fraternity brothers (Ohio State; Kappa Sigma) suggested that he and I and one other alumni play Stoneybrook GC while visiting friends in Fort Myers, Florida. We took him up on the offer and played on a day in late February when the morning temperature was, unbelievable as this sounds, 32 degrees; temps warmed to 50 degrees (long pants, sweater). I felt right at home being from COLS, OHIO. We played the course from the front men's tees at about 6,000 yards due to breezy, cool conditions. The greens were lightning quick and had a very nice grass base, no bare spots at all. The fairways, too, were tightly mowed and had plenty of grass on them. Our fee for the day was $80 per person - a little steep but as snow birds we went for it. No time to use the practice tee and I was somewhat glad due to the range being "aquatic". Something about the balls used on aquatic ranges that I dislike (snob; oh well). What started our day on the glass-half-empty side was the treatment by the starter. I get it. His job is to keep an orderly progression of groups teeing off but this starter was a little full of it. First, he made certain our carts did not leave the putting area to pull up to the starter's booth until 10 minutes before our time. Stoneybrook's staring area is very big and concrete. We weren't going to hinder anyone. Then once we were asked to pull ahead and stage.... I pulled my cart adjacent to my friends' cart. Immediately I was chastised and told, "Sir, you can't take up double space on this path. Single file so all carts can get through including ones coming in." I can tell you there was at least a full cart-and-a-half room on my side for a cart to fit through.... but I didn't bark back. Too bad.... I did feel as though he was angered by snow bird traffic on his golf course. The course was very nice; I'd like to try it for half the price if I ever return in the summer months. read more

Played here yesterday, course was in great shape, lots of water. The pace was a little slow, took almost five hours, but enjoyed ourselves. The cart people were extremely busy and a little curt, but it appeared there were not enough of them and they had way too much to do. Overall, an good experience. We will play here again. read more
