Due to high recommendations, I had been wanting to try Stonykill for a while. Last weekend I found myself in Chatham and checked it out. This is artisan coffee (I had the Cortado; company had latte and cappucino). Perfect blends/balance, perfect temperatures and great coffee art. Good pastries, too! The music was sublime. The ambience a mashup of hipster vibe and PeeWee's Playhouse. There are treasures to behold, and in some cases, to be had. The place was full; the line was long; the barista was zen. Stonykill Coffee & Records open recently in Chatham, upstairs over the People's Pub on Main Street. This coffee house and record shop has an inviting atmosphere with a classic feel, hardwood floors, and old furnishings. There are a few tables and seating along the front window overlook Main Street. There is also outside table seating in front of the building. They offer a selection of vintage records, books, CDs, cassettes, Gimme Coffee beans, and miscellaneous vintage merch & Stonykill mugs. For drinks & food, they offer fresh brewed hot & iced coffee/espresso drinks, lattes, tea, hot chocolate and a selection of baked goods. While my local home was having a showing, I took a drive to Columbia County and made a stop at Stonykill Coffee & Records for something with caffeine. I ordered a Cold Brew ($5 plus tax) and enjoyed this cold drink without cream & sugar outside in front, with a pastry I picked up from another local bakery business. The cold brew was strong and refreshing, just what I needed to start my long day. read more
