Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. I arrived to find them right off a bike trail in a small shopping center. If you live or are visiting the area and are biking at all, you could definitely bike right on up from the trail. The space inside is bright and airy. It was a great space for working in and they kindly provide free wifi. I ordered a mocha made with oat milk. For milk alternatives, they have oat and sesame. I was leery having never had sesame milk to get that so opted for oat milk but kinda wished I would have tried it. That said, the mocha was splendid--rich, strong espresso and flavorful chocolate--it was pitch perfect. For my breakfast I opted for their avocado toast which was an absolute dream. But to be honest, it's the only coffee house in town. The place seemed a bit dark and dirty. The exhaust system must be not working or not strong enough because the entire place smelled of what ever was being cooked on the griddle. We sat upstairs and our eyes watered the entire time we were there. The odor got on our clothes and stuck with us until we got home. Their restroom wasn't clearly marked and was kind of hidden back by the kitchen area. It was also very dark where it was located. A little more light all the way around would be helpful. The concept and decor is a great idea but it felt more like what we use to call a "greasy spoon" restaurant than a quaint coffee house. It won't take much to make it better but as it is, can't say much good about the experience it Iron Coffee Co. I hope they take this review in a positive light as there really isn't much that needs to be done to make it a very special place to go for coffee. This coffee roaster is tucked away on the side of a building and offers the best beans you will get anywhere. They roast their own in house and so far my husband and I have tried the Bantam, Mexico and Nicaragua blends and all are fantastic and so unique. They also have a small but delicious selection of baked goods to choose from but our personal favorite are the chocolate chip cookies! The place is spotless, and I grabbed the coffee bag to make at home that I wanted with a little assistance. It's not by any means a value but it's good, a 12 oz for like $22 a bag but thing different flavors/types are also a dollar or so different in price. Got that and a breakfast sandwich to go which is eggs and sausage with a homemade mayo . I was talking a little to my bf and than found out I had to go next door to Superette to pick up my sandwich. Two businesses working together. Same hours and weekends. Picked it up and trotted happy outside to the little tables to eat it, and it was amazing. Very tasty and served on a big English muffin. I believe you can order the sandwich, probably at either business.
