Here's a tighter, more aggressive rewrite that keeps the pressure on and sharpens the technical call-out: I am beyond disgusted with my recent online delivery experience at the Norwalk Connecticut Avenue location. This is not my first time using this service, and I have never had issues before, which makes this failure even more unacceptable. Poor customer service deserves to be called out, and this is a blatant example of it. My order was canceled with absolutely no notification--no email, no text, no explanation. I was left waiting for an order that had already been canceled without my knowledge. This is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious breakdown in Stop & Shop's customer service. Why offer a service you clearly cannot manage or guarantee? Had I not called to follow up myself, I would have been left in limbo indefinitely. There should be a basic system in place to notify customers of any order delay or cancellation, along with a reason. From a technical standpoint, this is not difficult--you already have customer contact information, including email and phone numbers. To make matters worse, after this failure on your end, I was forced to resubmit the order, make an additional payment, and now wait 7-10 business days for a refund or credit on the canceled order. This is negligent, unprofessional, and an unacceptable way to conduct business. If zero stars were an option, that is what this experience deserves. read more

Nothing unusual or outstanding, just your average supermarket. Except for the fact that there is an actual robot moving around! I believe that was mu first time ever to come face to face so to speak with a real life robot, and in a supermarket nonetheless! This place is pretty awful honestly. Fruits and veg section is decent, but not much great to say about the rest. The meat is ok at best and normally slightly overpriced compared to comparable. They hide the "healthy foods" section, it took me months to be able to find the Good Belly. Shrimp looks ok, but most fish looks inferior compared to Stew Leonard's, but yet still costs more. Normally the people working the deli seem pretty hood, same with grocery cart guys and some stockers. Positive notes..... Fruit and veg is decent and reasonably priced? Dry goods and frozen section doesn't totally suck? There is a Dunkn'. Not really much else to say honestly. I did get to see a guy walking around the meat area with a chicken on his shoulder one time. Gross, but still entertaining. That is about all I've got on the positive side of things. The employees at this location are extremely honest. I left my wallet at a self check out register. I went back the next day and everyone celebrated me coming back in to find it totally intact. They handed the wallet to me so I could retrieve my drivers license with photo ID without opening the wallet or looking inside. I noticed the last few visits , when using your own bags the cashier(usually the one when I go) doesn't help you bag your items and is rushing for payment when your still packing your bags. Then I leave to go to customer service for something which was right next to the check out I was at never mention that one of my items that I purchased never went into my bag. This seems like a fantastic Supermarket. To be honest, I just got a cup of the coffee at the Dunkies that's located in the store, but I had to stop myself from buying about 20 different items. Multiple times during the virus I have been into stop in shop. Today I went in at 715 because this is the only time I have to shop considering I am a healthcare worker. I was asked to leave and now I will not have time to shop and get groceries. I understand the over 60 going in until to protect them but what about the healthcare workers that work 12 hours shifts everyday and go in before you can go into stop and shop and get out when it's closed! This is a good stop and shop. It never gets too busy and it is located in the same parking lot as my bank. I recently discover that they have a section in the back filled with dented or about to be out of date foods at very reasonable prices. I called the bake shop to order a cake. I spoke with someone for about 10 minutes and told her in detail what I wanted. She confirmed multiple times with me and her manager. I shop at this store all the time. it is convenient and I can locate items quickly. My only true disappointment is with the bathrooms. They are always dirty, smelly and quite frankly need updating. The stall doors are broken, no hooks for my purse, and many times there is poop on the toilet bowls and the seat! The main door itself looks dirty and I can only imagine what germs have been sitting there for 10 years. I have seen people clean the restroom, but it doesn't really help. It needs to be gutted! We went to the Stop and Shop store on Main Ave today about 4:30 on Sunday mostly because there is a great liquor store in same shopping center. My wife went with the cart to pick up groceries and i went to the Deli counter for some cold cuts. After waiting a bit, with only one guy cutting for the store , my number came up and i asked for 1/2 lb of 3 items. The scale on the counter is easy to see the weight and i told the guy wearing a maroon shirt that asked for 1/2 lb not .27 lbs, he gave me a huge attitude, claimed he heard 1/4 lb which would be the typical mistake that the cutters don't hear what you actually say but easy to correct with a few more slices However the attitude i got from him made it so unpleasant i just walked away from the deli counter found my wife and we left the store. I do like this Stop & Shop (I choose this one over the Wilton location because this one has a lot more to offer.) I had a bad experience tonight at the seafood counter however. I walked up being the only customer there. The worker was about to start talking on his phone when he saw me and asked how he could help. I asked for a half pound of the shrimp (to which I pointed to). He rudely said, "well I can't see which one you're pointing to from my side." Mind you, I never buy shrimp so I said "the one that saw peeled." Rudely again he says "they're all peeled." Finally(!!) he walks his lazy self over and points and says "this one?" "Yes." I say "or this one?" "No." I say. What was the point of him starting that whole conversation when he could've easily just walked over and pointed to which shrimp and maybe helped me out?! I'm pretty sure that's what customer service is...helping customers and not putting them down. Anyway, I grabbed the shrimp from him and walked away. Was very unhappy with this man.
