My husband and I were tenants here for two and a half years. The staff had always been very helpful and kind. We never had any problems with our climate control storage unit. When we went to move out of our outdoor unit (after the purchase of our home) we discovered that it had been completely destroyed by rodents. There was urine and feces everywhere. I immediately called the office. They were very helpful and assured not to worry that we had their "Protection Plan" with up to $3,000 in coverages. The manager emailed me the forms right away and told me to photograph and document everything. I pulled out our copies of the agreement and saw that we did initial their plan. We proceeded to file the claim. This particular unit housed all of our decorations for the holidays and all of our outdoor stuff ( a playscape, Homemade ornaments, gifts from my girls, life jackets, and inflatables for the yard that upon discovery, had been eaten and nested in by rats. Our above ground pool had even been eaten... the whole liner destroyed by bite marks urine and feces. After having to dispose of almost every item and tirelessly documenting each and every thing, we sent over our claim. This is where the trouble began. The storage facility was quick to hand over our claim but beware. The processing/insurance company they deal with have SEVERAL complaints through the BBB and online for bad business. They first said that they did not receive the pictures. I resent them multiple times, multiple ways and it took a week for them to confirm receipt. A week went by and still no updates.... I checked the claims portal they provided us with and it had not been updated since the submission of our claim. I emailed again for an update. The claims agent finally responded saying the storage unit manager never turned in their side of the documents. I asked them why it took them weeks to notify us of this with no response. The storage unit manger replied and sent over their side. Then, within the hour the claims agent responded saying "we are prepared to offer $500 as per your protection plan" I was shocked and appalled. I once again pulled out our paper copies. No where was it stated $500. I began to scroll through the documents that the storage manger provided. (Our contract, contact information and the protection plan) And there buried was an electronic form with the full contract. In the fine print it disallows any coverage over $500 rodents or pests. Upon reading it further, this policy that we've paid on every month for two and a half years pretty much covers nothing for anyone. The ONLY REASON we had this crap policy is because the storage unit REQUIRED you have an insurance policy at signing to rent a unit. You initial and they "conveniently" text you a form to e-sign... and buried in that document is where you find out the policy is crap. I feel completely taken advantage of. We had been essentially paying for our stuff to sit, rot and be urinated defecated on by rodents. They say that hindsight is 20/20, and looking back on things there is no way that they did not know that they had a rodent issue. They just don't care because at the end of the day, the only people they are hurting are the families who trust them with their belongings. No big deal, right? There are some extremely shady and dishonest business practices going on here. read more

The customer service was a 10/10 , clean space, went out of their way to show me the different sizes they have with no hesitation even when it did start raining! The space was clean and very welcoming! I've never felt more of "homey" and a "best friend" vibe from a storage place like this one and trust me I've had PLENTY of storage units. Just moved in and so far this is the best storage place I have ever had. The girls in the office are very friendly and helpful. When I had an issue with the lock the manager came out and helped me with it right away. It is super convenient for me, clean, a good deal and it is very easy to get in and out of the facility. I thought this place was convenient to get to. It is fairly easy to get in and out of the facility. Turning around can be a little tight. Most storage facilities are. The manager seems to be on top of things if there is a problem. She was headed out when I had problem with the building access and she stopped what she was doing and took care of it right away. Their overall temperature is better than the other big-name places. I have been in some where you sweat the second you walk in. Not exactly climate control. Lighting inside the units is not available. It makes it a little difficult to see what you are doing. LED T8 light bulbs would really be helpful. There aren't any flat carts to move your stuff in and out. I had to bring my own. The last place had some and theirs were so small, that it really didn't help. Price went up slightly after the initial offering. If it had made a big jump, I would have packed up and moved on. read more

We have been here years and absolutely no issues with our unit. The only complaint is the pricing. Prices have gone up and with long lasting tenants you'd think it would be more reasonable. That's my biggest issue and the cost isn't worth it any longer and hasn't been for a long while but I'm stuck because of the items needing storage. If cost isn't an option then your golden, if price matters then beware if you plan on staying. read more

Check out my update!! This is without question the WORST storage facility that I have ever in all my long years used. If you want to have a migraine and be lied to continuously this is your spot. Otherwise, I'd keep lookin UPDATE- I was contacted by a woman in the main office. Though I think it could and should have been able to fix the main issue with the unit. They have absolutely made so much more effort to communicate and David the manager there definitely is more on top of things and seems nicer. I did find out it was a staffing issue so I can be understanding of that. The nicest part was that they did make things right another way and helped me out with being able to transfer to a different unit and definitely did me right with that one. I think that they are more willing to help and make things good than I could say in the beginning. It is never to late. So thank y'all for helping, reaching out and making things right. Been renting here about a year with no serious issues other than the fact their insurance, which they charge you $12 a month for, is absolutely useless. They mounted the sign explaining it high up on a wall where you dont really see it. It basically says that regardless of what happens, you won't be covered. That $12 fee you pay every single month is just another way to get more money from you. This is a very deceptive trade practice of which a lot of corporations indulge in these days with relative impunity. I will be glad when I can move out of this place and bring my stuff home. read more

Dave, the property manager, is absolutely fantastic, the rooms were spacious and easy to get to. Prices were fair as well and very centrally located for people in crystal falls area. This place is secure, clean, and support is great. Dave is extremely nice, and gets everything you need done. Will definitely use this place again. I have rented 2 storage units at this location in Cedar Park, TX, three times, in Sept 1996, Aug 2003 and I currently have 2 units rented since Sept 2018. Overall, I definitely recommend this business for future renters. I would've rated a 5 but I had difficulties changing my address online as well as in person. I made a special trip to do this today, at 5:00, on 11-19-19. The office is open until 6:00 but the door was locked with signage stating the owner/employee was on the premises taking care of a matter. That is understandable so I left and returned 30 minutes later, at 5:30, only to find the office locked again with the inside lights off which made me wonder if that person left early. Again, I would still recommend this business and hopefully my review might be useful to Storage Direct. read more

This is the worst facility. I have been trying for weeks to get my billing taken care of. I have stopped by the office during normal business, the door is locked and no one seems to be there. I have. Asked and no one answers. I have even called the corporate number, they have taken a message and said that the manager would call me...he doesn't. Now I'm afraid they are going to get riding my stuff because they don't work. read more

Both Patrick and David are extremely helpful and very nice. They worked with me to find the appropriate unit and even were out there to help move one big item into the unit for me. I had a little problem setting up the online payment through their website -- just had to call the office to find the right location name to post the payment. My first payment was paid through their phone payment service so we will see how the online payment works next month. read more

The on-site Mgr David is terrible. He lacks the ability to do his job. He is rude and acts like he is god. I should of taken to the bad reviews a little more serious. Beware of this individual. read more

Avoid this place! Management is in disarray. They've caused me plenty of stress in the short while that I stored my belongings there. There was an issue with auto pay on there end, yet they still charged me late fees and refused to remove them from the account. It's impossible to get a live person when you call. If you leave a message no one will call you back. Upon leaving they charged me an additional months rent despite giving proper notice. They acknowledged their mistake this time, but took a little over a month to issue a refund! BE WARNED! These guys are disorganized and crooks! Go elsewhere, please. read more

The front office staff was pleasant enough, but I didn't like beibg required to purchase their insurance plan. That is what my Homeowner's insurance is for. Then they failed to enter my autodraft in their records so i received a phone call saying my rent was past due. I then had to go by to pay and resign the auto pay form. Next month I received a call saying my card declined, this time because they entered my card number in wrong. Lastly, I went in to terminate the lease, and was told because I missed the 10 day requirement by a few days that they were charging me an entire additional month. Keep in mind this was still days before the end of month and my wife had literally just given birth to our son 3 days before that. I was upset and asked if we could split the rent considerIng they could have rerented same day, but was told no. I understand they want 10 days notice but the complete unwillingness to work with their customers is absurd. I didn't even use the full month but was charged the whole month AND the next. read more

I reserved a unit here through selfstorage.com they had a great deal going on. I showed up to fill out my paperwork the very same day and it was a breeze. The staff was very nice! There was a problem with our code that set us back a few days in our moving process but Julie was super accommodating and helpful.
