I am not always the best time-keeper but when I arrived at the cinema only just before the adverts I figured I still had plenty of time to meet my mates, buy a ticket and enjoy the film. But no, I didn't because Storm have screwed up a very basic cinema concept.
Every other cinema I have ever been to has a ticket kiosk where they sell... tickets, but here you must queue with everyone who wants some of the ridiculously overpriced snacks and buy your ticket at the food stand, even if you don't want any food (or had the sense to already buy it yourself beforehand at a normal price). So because of this we missed the start of the film since there weren't even enough staff on to cope with the basic snack orders. Having said that, when I went looking for a member of staff to vent at I got in free because there was no-one to check your stubs.
Cunning cost-cutting measures not actually so cunning, eh Storm?
I used to love coming here since you can grab food in one of the restaurants first, take a moment to laugh at the ridiculously dressed children going into the Beach Club, and then enjoy a film in what is a pretty decent cinema, but I will probably never be back. read more
