I don't know if that is the case or not but, it is the best Dampfnudel I have tasted so far. They speak little or no English here and my limited German skills came quite handy. The service is very typical Bavarian and the menu is all in German. If on doubt look around and order what the others are having here "Dampfnudel" :-) Basically Dampfnudel is a Bavarian Brioche with a thick and creamy vanilla custard and its stodgy, saucy and buttery goodness on a plate. The locals have it as a main course for lunch and its simply delicious here. I also tried their Bratwurst with Sauerkraut which was also divine. The service is very friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. Lunch for two with drinks and coffee was €20 all up for what was a memorable meal :-)) I would come here daily if I could. I might regret it but know that I will die happy ;-))

We found this with a quick little Google search and it was very close to our hotel. We got right in and had a great waiter named Martin. The service was great. The food was very good. The first day I got the chicken Cordon Bleu and it was delicious. The second night I got a pork roast dish with a mushroom gravy and cheese spaetzle. My mom, the first night had pumpkin soup and the second night also had the goulash. We enjoyed our meals very much and would recommend. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great as well. It felt authentic, and the servers also wore authentic German outfits as well so that was fun.

A gigantic potato dumpling and a dollop of sauerkraut completed the plate. A nice dark bock beer from the Weltenburger brewery was a perfect pairing with the entree. This is a second-hand review…read more.. While Spousal Unit and I were on a recent river cruise in Germany I came down with a "code in my dose". This derailed my "eat a sausage at every stop" plan. Fortunately SU covered for me as she went happily a'wandering while I sipped hot tea back on the ship. Her comments on the restaurant's traditional Regensberger wurst: fabulous, especially with sauerkraut and sweet mustard on a brodchen roll. She did not bring me a wurst back (her excuse: "it would have been cold", damnit) but she did bring a jar of their mustard: wunderbar! (One of the couples we met on the cruise had been to the Wusrtkuchl before, and they actually brought a spare suitcase to load up for the trip home!). I guess a vicarious thrill is better than none. I ordered the traditional pork schnitzel with German potato and cucumber, cold salad, and it was delicious crispy and tender. The potato and cucumber salad was tangy and very enjoyable. It also came with a side of cranberry relish that gave it a nice sweet bite. My guest had the chicken schnitzel and they enjoyed it as well. This one came with a side salad. Both portions were very large filling and for a great price. They did recommend a traditional baked dessert, but we knew that dinner was gonna be too much food. Everyone raves about the dessert that does take 45 minutes to bake so plan ahead. Would definitely go back to Dicker Mann android would recommend because you feel like one of the locals. The traditional Bavarian meals are also well above average and served in an iron skillet for effect - I enjoyed a rolled beef thing with spätzle and brussels sprouts; the mustard and bacon sauce on the sprouts made the dish work. Part of the restaurant's schtick is that it is ye olde fashioned food place (beers are served in earthenware cups instead of glasses), but no need to dwell on that; just go for the food. As with most German places, making reservations gets you a better table but they gladly accommodated our large party as walk-ins. The bathrooms don't match the rest of the place (think college bar), but they are OK. Certainly doesn't detract from the overall experience.
