I feel compelled to share our current experience at Storyland School because it is the exact opposite of the calculated negative review deliberately posted to coincide with Back to School Night. Our daughter has been here through the ownership transition, and the new administration has brought nothing but massive, positive growth to this school. First, the leadership team is incredible. Ms. Nithya, the new director, was personally selected as a trusted replacement by Ms. Brooke, and she is exceptionally warm, welcoming, and attentive. Our new assistant director, Ms. Aanchal, is equally amazing and highly organized. The entire staff is kind, and the energy at pickup and drop-off is wonderful. The teachers always greet us with a smile, and our daughter leaves giving hugs and talking so positively about everyone. Since the new school year started under this team, we have noticed tremendous improvements in our daughter's fine motor and communication skills. She is now coloring within the lines, writing her name, and communicating much more deeply. The claims about poor communication couldn't be further from the truth. Communication has actually significantly improved. We receive constant, thoughtful, and genuine updates through the Procare app. For example, last week we got an alert that our child was caught wasting food. Her teacher had a constructive talk with her and asked us to reinforce it at home. We never received this level of proactive, mindful feedback under the past administration. When it comes to safety, the teachers are observant, protective, and adhere strictly to all licensing guidelines. They over-communicate with true integrity. When our daughter got a tiny, completely minor boo-boo on the play structure, they immediately logged it in Procare. It shows how deeply they care about transparency and monitoring the kids to ensure they are safe, healthy, and playing nicely. Finally, the new management has been incredibly proactive. Right when the transition happened, we were promptly notified via email about all administrative, classroom, and teacher updates. Even better, they have actively improved the community by opening a brand-new infant care program and an after-school pickup shuttle service for public TK students! Change can be hard for some, but the new management has handled it beautifully. Storyland is thriving, safe, and an absolute blessing for our family. We look forward to enrolling our son in 6 months with Ms. Patty to learn some español! Highly, highly recommend! read more

Storyland has been an amazing experience for my little ones. It's hard to choose a place your kids will spend so much time but we made the right choice with Storyland. The staff is friendly, kind to the kids, teach them so much while creating well rounded individuals. My Kindergartner started school well ahead of her peers, already counting to 100 while others are learning to count to 10. we love Storyland! Both of our kids have gone/go there. We miss, Miss Brooke and Miss Brittney but Miss Aanchal, Miss Grace and all the rest of the current staff are great! My 3 year old has just moved into little owls in Miss Aanchal's class. My oldest son who has special needs flourished at Storyland. He's now 8, still knows teachers there and loves to see his old stomping ground when we pick up and drop off. The staff have been consistently awesome: They are communicative, kind, resourceful and really put in a lot of hard work to help our kids grow and thrive. The staff work hard with parents on learning, potty training, nutrition and many other things that are essential for a good preschool experience. Our oldest has been attending Storyland for over a year and we have been so happy with her time there! She comes home every day with something new she's learned and it's been such a joy to see her confidence and personality just bloom! Ms Brooke is the BEST! Sending your first baby out into the world is terrifying but the staff at Storyland, especially Ms Brooke, goes out of their way to be warm, enthusiastic and welcoming in the morning to ensure for an all-smiles drop off. We are just blown away with all that our daughter has learned at Storyland so far! Traditional academics aside, they also go over emotions, baking/cooking, responsibilities and public speaking and so much more. We recently attended a tour for the TK-12 school we are looking at for her next, and we were so proud that nearly everything on the curriculum for the TK/K classes, she's already learned this past year. We sent my son here for over 2 years starting just before he turned 3. Dropping off your first born kid to a new preschool is always terrifying and the way they would hug and comfort him as he cried gave me relief immediately. He is in kindergarten now but loved going to Storyland everyday. We now have our daughter there daily and she loves all the teachers as well. We have loved all the teachers we have had especially those that have stayed and been a comfort and familiarity to us through the years- Miss Brooke, Miss Nancy, both Miss Brittney's, Miss Aaliyah, and Miss Patty. The stories here are horror stories. They have wannabe pro wrestler pinning kids down at nap time according to family. I was there one day and one employee was reeking of weed and was acting very intoxicated. The owners have been extremely negligent in the care of the building. I can't imagine what corners they're cutting in terms of care for the children. This place is a deluge of hazards. Amazing preschool! Hands-down the best place to enroll your little one in Livermore! I have two daughters, 3 and 8. When my oldest had turned 2 years old, we interviewed at multiple preschools. Storyland was our #1 pick however they were full and we were waitlisted. We ending up enrolling her at another preschool that had immediate availability however she was always sad when we picked her up. My daughter was not happy there and we could absolutely see it on her face. The COVID pandemic hit and she was able to stay at home for about a year with my husband. When everything reopened, Storyland had availability and we were able to enroll her there. Immediately she fell in love with all the teachers and her classmates. When I was pregnant with my second one, I immediately signed her up to ensure she was not on the waiting list for too long. My two children are about 5 years apart. Even to this day, when my oldest comes w me to pick up my youngest daughter, she still remembers all the teachers and the teachers still say hi to her all the time! She has the fondest memories of going to school there. In fact, she met her BFF at Storyland when they were 4 years old! Now my youngest currently attends and absolutely loves Storyland. The facility is clean and well organized. They teach science, baking and social skills at Storyland. Additionally, their curriculum is on par with the Livermore School District as they use the same materials the current TK & K classes use. As a result, your child is well-prepared to enter TK & K in the fall. However, what makes Storyland great are not the things that I all listed above. It is actually the teachers - Ms. Patty, Ms. Nancy, Miss Brittany, Miss Aaliyah, Miss Lainey and their amazing Director Miss Brooke. Every teacher has an education degree, are extremely knowledgeable and well-seasoned in their field. At most preschools, a child typically sticks to their main teacher and are separated by age. Storyland also places each child in their appropriate age group, however I see a collaborative effort at Storyland that sets it apart from other preschools. Every teacher helps out each other (despite which class they belong to) and they know almost every child in the entire preschool. I cannot say enough good things about Storyland. But if I had more children, I would not hesitate to enroll them into Storyland. If you're looking for a preschool for your child in the Livermore area, I would look no further and enroll them here ASAP. read more

My daughter started at Storyland in Aug 2022 with the little monkeys class. it took her 2 months to acclimate and she was extremely anxious and sad to leave me every time. But during that transition, her teachers and other teachers (whose classes she wasn't in but still knew her by name) were patient, kind, and always welcomed her with enthusiasm. The scariest thing as a parent is to let your kids out into the world without you being there to protect them, but at Storyland I know with confidence that my daughter is being taken care of. She has come out of her shell and made incredible progress. Unfortunately, Storyland is not a caring, safe environment. My son was bullied and I'm the one that had to tell the bullies to stop. The teachers did nothing. He was hit, kicked and pushed daily by two other kids. And when I told the owner, all she said was they'll try and keep them away from each other instead of dealing with the bullies. One "teacher" in particular, BROOKE BOWLING, is absolutely horrific. She pins down toddlers with her legs (for God knows what reason), talks to them like they're the most annoying thing on the planet, never smiles, and tells them no when they ask to go to the bathroom. If another kid is being mean, she blames the victim, not the instigator. One time she touched my son's head and he actually flinched. HUGE RED FLAG. The owner, turns a blind eye to any problem and sweeps it under the rug. She "reviews" it and then always determines you and your child are the problem, not her employees or any other children. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE unless, of course, they're perfect and you'll never bring up anything that makes you uncomfortable. read more

Our 4 year old started in a different school in 2019. All schools are not made equal. He cried everyday and finally after a couple of weeks we pulled him out. In a few days, we visited Storyland and found the staff so pleasing and welcoming that we decided to retry school for Mr. Aaryan. To our pleasure, he loved StoryLand and all his teachers; namely Ms. Jessica, Ms. Samantha, Ms. Sarah, Ms. Brooks and many more. He continued with StoryLand for a full year, learnt a lot, made good friends and rejoiced his teachers. Now, he is fully coached to start his KG and nostalgic about his school. I sent my kids (4 and 2 when they started) here for a year until my older daughter went to kindergarten. They were cared for to where I didn't have worries day to day. Overall, I had a fine experience. Starting during the pandemic wasn't ideal and I think had it not been for that, I probably would have had stronger relationships with the staff. However, it was hard for me to grow that relationship because a) I'm pretty shy and b) at the height of the pandemic, I was told to limit how long I was in the classrooms at drop off (which I was in agreement with). Things I was less fond of were the lack of proactive updates from the teachers. It baffles me that they have an app but don't want to use it unless parents request it. Though the app from my experience never seem to work most of the time. They also seem to watch movies more than I care for considering I was paying them to teach my child. These were all things I can get over though. Wasn't a deal breaker. In the end, the core reasons I switched preschools for my younger daughter was that driving to Storyland was quite out of the way with my older child moving to Kindergarten and figuring out the logistics of work and two drop offs. My younger child also has speech issues (I figured this out towards the end of our Storyland experience) and I didn't feel Storyland was equipped to help her with that. My older daughter loved Storyland which was one key reason I stayed for a year. She was ahead in learning before going to Storyland (could already read and write and do math) so I wasn't worried about it then. It's a fine school if you want the typical preschool environment. It's not so ideal if your child has any sort of special needs. read more

We absolutely love Storyland School. We had our 5 year old daughter there for 2 years until she started TK and now have our almost 3 year old enrolled full time. They absolutely love it there. My son looks forward to going there everyday and talks about all his teachers when he's home. Before he started at Storyland, he was in home daycare and wasn't very verbal. Our daughter loves this school so much that there are days where she has cried because there is no school for her that day! Our three year old has been attending Storyland School since June 2020 and we cannot recommend this school enough! Their cleaning practices are pristine and their educational program stimulates and disciplines our very rambunctious toddler. His teachers Ms. Brittani and Ms. Brooke are everything we could have hoped for. They provide mid year evaluations and early phonics reading/writing. He can even sing a song in Spanish. My daughter attended school here for about 9 months . All of the staff has always been very professional and welcoming . They have an app that they use to give updates about how your child's day is going (mood, nap time, if they've eaten, and post pictures etc.) I love that they send home a monthly calendar that informs parents of what their child's activities are for each day. I was impressed by all of the sensory projects they had and the new themes for each week that made learning fun for kids . From letters, colors, shapes, and alphabet, I really appreciate how interactive everything was. They are great at adhering to the ever changing covid regulations while still doing what they can to celebrate holidays (fun events for the kids) . We unfortunately moved out of state which is why my daughter had to switch schools . I've always been so grateful to see how happy my daughter was while she was here but let me say ... not all schools are created equal. Now that my daughter started a new school I can truly say I appreciate this school so much more. Our 2.5 year old has been attending here since she turned 2. ALL the teachers are amazing. Everyday they greet our child, know her by name even though she's not in their class, and bids a nice farewell. Every teacher here is sweet, professional, and very good about teaching the kids right from wrong. There are a couple bad reviews on here that are ABSOLUTELY ludicrous. The teachers are not abusive or verbally mean to the children here, and they handle difficult situations well. They have incident reports that teachers fill out and parents sign, which we've signed a couple times for our child having a little bloody nose during her nap. A review in particular about Ms Brooke is ridiculous and so far fetched. I see her PLAYING with the kids almost every single day, not pinning them down as you would a cattle your about to brand. Ms Mari is such a sweet loving tether to our little girl. She was so comforting and loving as our daughter adapted. Our child looks forward to going here and having a good day every day here. Both of my children attended Storyland. We've had all the teachers from the Little Monkey's up through to Sunshine room. Every single one has been fabulous! One aspect that truly stands out to me is the consistent staffing - we've been through other centers where it is a constant rotation. The owner and director are great. I wanted to wait until my daughter had been in the school for a period of time before I left my review. Here is my summary and you can read the details below: Storyland is very focused on academics but the teachers show a nice balance of nurturing and education for these little tykes. I highly recommend this school. The school was very open and accommodating in allowing us to tour before we registered. My husband and I brought both our daughter and our son (8) to the tour and it was not a problem. They were permitted to play with the other kids while we toured. This was the first sign of a great school - my kids barely noticed as we walked out to the backyard to see the remaining buildings. They were immediately at ease. The admission process was organized and very straightforward. So was the introductory tour where we learned how to check our daughter in and out and some of the rules. Everything was written down in a clear format for us to take home. The first few weeks of school were a little hard on my daughter. We had just moved to the area and she loved her old school so kept asking to go back. I think it was also difficult that we joined in the end of summer where preschools always have a more relaxed schedule. Kids love routine. So our daughter had a hard time making friends and adjusting to the new school. BUT the teachers were wonderful and came up to give her individualized attention every day until she adjusted to the drop off. They were clearly caring and interested in helping her make friends and get used to the school. I expressed some concerns about the academics to the teachers and they immediately responded and eased my concerns. It was just that they are not as academic/routine oriented during the summer months. Once the school year started I saw a big difference in the educational component of the school. I think they even told me this when we enrolled but there's so much to take in that I forgot. I love that we get daily updates and then every 6 weeks we get a progress report. I have 2 sons that both have been at storyland. They were so great! Especially with my first who all moms know how hard it is to send your first kid off. They would check in let me know how he was doing. Would hold him up let him watch me leave out the window. So sweet. My second of course needs none of that. We are so incredibly grateful that we found Storyland School four years ago when we moved to Livermore! We loved our previous preschool in Mountain View, and we were very picky when looking for a new one after our move. We looked at quite a few in Livermore and Pleasanton - and there are a lot of good ones. But we fell in love with Storyland, the staff, and the quality care that the owner, Elena, has established. When our daughter started there, we were struggling with potty training. Elena and her staff were very helpful and supportive, and our daughter was successfully potty trained within a couple months. Over the past four years, our daughter has been in the Little Owls room, Bay room, Sunshine room, and EPS program. We've worked with many different teachers there and every single one of them has been amazing, supportive, and so kind to our daughter. Storyland has been like a family and an extension of our home - we've never had a worry or concern; and any small issues were taken care of with ease. The communication with teachers/staff is incredible! Additionally, the staff and program at Storyland were excellent in helping my daughter prepare for kindergarten both academically and socially. The facilities are clean and well taken care of, the staff are well trained, the programming is well thought out, and the building is safe and secure. Also, they have a parent app/electronic system for sign-in/out, daily logs, and billing. In it, teachers can post updates and pictures of the events and activities for parents to see, which I've loved! My daughter has truly enjoyed being at Storyland, she's made so many friends and memories, and we are so sad to be leaving (and that's only because she's aged out). We are going to miss all the staff and teachers there so much - especially Miss Elena, Miss Jessica, Miss Sarah, Miss Brittney, Miss Brooke, Miss Patty, and Miss Sammie! I now have two children attending Storyland since they were 19months. My daughter now 3, loves it and has made friends. She also adores her teachers and often talks about them. She loves to do crafts, art, painting - although she still has ways to go academically wise. My son now in pre-k surprises me everyday. He is getting into spelling and writing. After visiting a number of other preschools in Livermore, I choose Storyland because of its location, staff and curriculum. My son had just turned 4 and needed to be prepared for kindergarten and the year he spent at Storyland got him ready when he entered a year later. I was impressed with the care and education he received and happily recommend the school. Also, the improvements they have made internally and to the yards only makes it a saver and more enjoyable environment. They offer a Spanish Enrichment program, music and computer training classes in addition to gymnastics. The music and computer training are included in the tuition. read more

6/5 stars! What an amazing school. My son attended preschool with teachers Ms Sara May and Ms Cassie. They both were super sweet and caring. They did not mind my phone calls and emails checking on how my son was adjusting. They also gave him special care when he first started and needed some time to settle. All the other teachers were also very kind and great! The whole atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. We are forever grateful for his time at Storyland. Ms Elena did the initial tour and meeting with me and I was instantly swept away by her kind heart and caring personality. If you are looking for a preschool I highly recommend Storyland!! read more
