What a lovely little coffee shop, book shop, and gift shop all in one. It's like your local, shop small, Barnes and Noble. Coming into the store feels like you're stepping back into a simpler time of life and it's so lovely. Coming to Thermopolis just does. It's so great. The coffee is shockingly good, we got a lavender late and a cold brew and both really enjoyed them! If you need a mid day pick me up coming out of the hot springs, you definitely won't go wrong here! read more

My two favorite types of store under one roof: a bookstore and a coffee shop. Storyteller deserves all the wins for their set up. With a good variety of books in different genres for kids and adults; Storyteller takes it up a notch with toys and games, gifts, stationery, greeting cards, and general miscellany. It's better than a big box store because it's all local. They carry some of the most unusual gifts, too. Very few of them are of the kind available at every shop. It's easy to spend time (and money) checking them all out. And then, to have a full service coffee shop (locally roasted beans) in the back, it couldn't be better -- except for the chairs and tables near the front of the store for enjoying the beverage, using the free wi-fi, and perusing the books. I really hated to leave. I found a very hard-to-come-by book, and I spent some time relishing my good fortune, as I sipped a well-done latte, and used the wi-fi to plan my next stop. I'm so glad I was able to experience a little bit of the local life and look forward to visiting again. read more

What can I say that could give a place like this the kind of accolades this kind of business really deserves? Great place to start your day with a good read and a great cup of java any way you like it. Caution! You could go broke real quick buying some of the nicest gifts in town for the creative minds. It has more than et ambiance. There is a type of friendliness about this place that I cannot be put into words or even mass produce. It comes from the very people who own it and work there and also the people who patronize the business on a regular basis. Don't miss it even if you venture in to window shop. Lovely small town bookstore and gift shop with a good coffeeshop/espresso bar in the back. I always find a book or two here that we end up buying and this time I sampled a coffee too. I had a soy mocha and it was delicious. Other family members enjoyed their straight espresso and the munchkin liked her hot chocolate. Go for a coffee, sit and enjoy the locals' conversation and people watching and buy some of their lovely arts, crafts, cards, etc. Great place! read more

Stopped here on motorcycle on the way to Rawlins. Most delicious chai latte! Very comfortable seating looking out into the Main Street.

This is a terrific place for locals and travelers alike to get a great cup of coffee or chai. It's also a kind of social hub (by which I mean, it seems everybody in town stops by, at some point, every day or two, just to chat with the owner and with each other). The Storyteller is also a card, book and gift shop. I spent 2 weeks in Thermopolis working on a project, and every day sat at one of the several tables for an hour or so, writing and enjoying a hot or cold drink and a scone. Nobody hurried me along or made me feel anything but welcome. The menu of coffee drinks includes everything you'd find in a larger town (and tastes better than Starbucks, as the coffee here is roasted to perfection on-site by Jackrabbit Roasters). The gifts and cards include a great selection of toys, and I surely bought enough funny (not tacky, just laugh-out-loud) cards and flour-sack towels for a year's worth of upcoming birthdays. read more
