Akubra for Floridians! My wife and I were honeymooning and stopped by this shop by way of recommendation from our Uber driver! She had suggested getting an Akubra when we asked about getting some authentic Australian hats. While initially the objective was solely for me to get a hat my wife ended up getting one as well because of the quality and style of the Akubra hats offered at Strand Hatters! Both store associates addressed us immediately upon entering the shop. I did not catch the lady's name who had help us but her service was fantastic! She spent the time to show us a variety of options, brands, sizes and colors and offered a few pro tips regarding care. This has to be one of the most sophisticated hat shops out there, well, hat shops that sell akubras (that's a cowboy hat between you and me fellow Brits!). The decor, with all its wood paneling and green leather chairs, screams gentlemen's club, a concept I can see the shop assistants have gone with. These fine gents are suited and booted and well equipped with a twinkle in their eye to fit out any man's head for a good hat. The majority of the stock is akubras, but there are panama hats, boater hats and even a few Highland bonnets- something I was particularly pleased to see!
