The WORST experience in an emergency room. All the front desk clerk did was ask for my phone…read morenumber. That is all. Then he handed me a pad for me to fill out pages of forms and even take photos of my ID and medical cards MYSELF! What is he getting paid to do? What if I was in deep pain? I would have had to do all that myself? In the past the front desk clerk would scan my ids and ask for my info. Poor service! Then, I was taken into the treatment room twice and the second time, I sat there for thirty minutes without anyone checking in on me. Never saw a Doctor and my issue was an immediate emergency as I had an issue which needed immediate attention and could have caused permanent damage to me if not dealt with immediately. Very sad that there is such awful service in an ER.

He died choking to death. I drove in from Milwaukee and came into Alexian Brothers Hospital through the wrong entrance, it's a lot bigger with different entrances than when I used to work on an ambulance decades ago. I came into the E.R. through a back way, noting the multiple signs warning everyone that aggressive behavior towards staff would not be tolerated. There were no obvious signs indicating where to check in, though I did come in the back way. There was no one in the window (picture a glass barrier like in a late night liquor store in a sketchy neighborhood) but a worker was having a long drawn out conversation with another woman that involved a lot of repetition. I asked a passing security officer where I should check in and he pointed to the empty reception window. The woman in conversation did turn out to be the one who was supposed to be the reception worker so when she returned I said "my father died, I think he's in room 9, may I go back there?" She didn't apologize for the wait, but the woman she was talking to offered her condolences (not a worker, either a patient or relative of a patient), and I was shown to a locked door and let in. Someone just inside that door pointed to a room directly across, I walked through the nurses station island to get there, the curtain was closed and inside my step brother and his wife were sitting crying next to my father's body. The litter on the floor suggested a full code was performed, as my father the former cardiologist would have wanted. I could tell by the medical litter they must have "done everything they could." Technically proficient. There was a cart with 6 cold cups of coffee, 6 plastic bottles of water, and some store bought cookies. Not sure if that was for us, or if there just wasn't room in the hallway and the cart was stored there. There wasn't much to say, it had been a tumultuous month of Dad struggling to not die in Good Sam hospital, a roller coaster of hope and despair leading to the debacle at the rehab hospital and then this quiet, lonely, grim scene. My step brother and his wife had to go pick up their young daughter from school and I was left alone with my father's body for a while. A long while. No one came to talk to me, not a nurse, not a physician, not a chaplain, not a social worker, not even a housekeeper. I have no idea who was with my father in the last two hours of his life, what they did exactly, what they thought, and of course none of those people had any interest in knowing anything about the human being who so recently occupied this body. Nobody had any interest in who I was sitting with this body. When my father was a physician, he felt it was an important role to comfort family when patients died. He used to moonlight at Jackson Park Hospital Emergency Room where I saw him do this with grace and empathy. As a medical professor he would teach his interns and residents at the University of Chicago and then Rush Presb St. Lukes how important it was to practice compassion and care for survivors when patients passed away. As an attending physician he always checked in on his patients whatever hospital they ended up in, whether he was on staff or not, and he often attended patients' funerals. When it came to his turn, medicine had become a corporate capitalist business devoid of humanity, he died very much alone. I contemplated this, also, very much alone. When I opened the curtain to leave, all eyes avoided me and I left without so much as a goodbye. From the bottom of my heart I wish that whole Emergency Room crew better when it's their turn.

I highly recommend Dr Ryan Robin for his excellent listening skills and ability to explain everything step by step and answer all my questions. He put my mind at ease with the pain management process of ultrasound guided injection and it was practically painless.

Your doctors are wonderful. Your billing department is horrendous. They have wasted literally…read morehours of my time in follow up calls (15+) on one issue... with the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The communication is horrible. The record keeping is erroneous. The explanations are nonsensical, or non existant. There is zero follow through, and I get to start over every time I call back. Duly please, get rid of this contractor and replace them with someone competant. Your patients deserve better.

We have a great connection and she has good bedside manners and doesn't rush you through your visit. If she feels like you need to see a specialist then she will refer you to one's here that are good to see. She's one of the good doctors who care for her patients asking good questions etc. There's also a phlebotomist here that is wonderful Denise who I met today! Wow she can draw blood of small veins people like myself who is also scared of needles! One try and she got it wow! Believe me if she's working when I need bloodwork done I will request her for sure!! The place is clean and modern. They are off the main road of Lake st in addison. The hospital name changes since I've been coming here but the staff is still around They take most insurance including Medicare and Medicaid too! You can also come here for urgent care as well. I also like that they have a phone app to see your results and appointments and email within the app with your doctors if they are in their network. Overall I don't have issues working with them. So I'm staying put cause they are so close to home from me!

Our experience here was great. We called another ER and the wait time was 3 hours on a Thursday…read moreafternoon. We called here and they picked up right away, and advised us there's no wait. As soon as arrival they took us right away. Front desk event gave us some toys to entertain the kids. Everyone was nice and professional. Thanks for the team that took care of us!

The worst billing. I saw a doctor there on September 5, 2023 and didn't notice I was over charged…read moreon my copay. The minute I got home I called and I told them I wanted the over charge to go back on my charge card. There was no mention that they couldn't charge back the amount. They said that the only refund with a check I would have been fine with a check. They also said the process to get the over charge back would take a couple of months. I called today (almost 2 months to the day) and they had NO notes on sending me a check. My insurance person was on the other line and he asked Liz if the check could be expedited and she said yes, but guess what I t's going to take another 2-3 weeks before they send out a check.

I received care for a poison-ivy rash from this location. I was under the impression this was an…read more"urgent care"-type center. There was no indication this was an emergency room and would be billed as such. The visit and treatment took ~5min. I received a bill for over $400 saying that this was an emergency room visit. I spoke with Edith B about disputing the bill, and she was no help. I would not recommend using this location for any medical treatment. The staff are not friendly, and will lie to you. Everyone working here should be ashamed to say they work in the medical field.
