Do NOT go here if you want good physical therapy! I went here to receive physio for my broken ankle (fibula). I went for a total of six session and only during one of these session I saw the actual physiotherapist, all the other times I just saw the therapy assistant. I felt she did the exact same things every time and did not push my ankle at all. She rarely gave me any exercises to do at home, even with me asking. When I saw the actual PT he mentioned all the things we will be doing in upcoming weeks. These things were never done and I just continued to do the same lame exercises with the TA that did not push or better my ankle. I felt they did not care about the concerns I had with my foot and only worried about the swelling I had (which is not bad and can be there for up to a year). The next week I went to the Glen Sather clinic and did more in one session then I did in my whole time at this place. I would definitely not recommend the Strathcona Physical Therapy and will never return again. I found it to be a complete waste of my time and I wish I would have went to the Glen Sather clinic to begin with. read more

Established in 1980.

As one of the original eleven physical therapy clinics in Alberta, Strathcona Physical Therapy has been located just off of Whyte ave for over 55 years in the Strathcona Healthcare building. We are primarily an orthopaedic physical therapy clinic and have physical therapists that specialize in TMJ and vertigo. We have contracts with Alberta Health Services, Worker’s Compensation Board, and many insurance companies. Strathcona Physical Therapy is closely associated with the University of Alberta department of Physical Therapy and the School of Dentistry Oral Medicine program. Also has been apart of the Alberta sports medicine association. Ed was chair to one of the first national orthopaedic conference in not only Edmonton but Canada. Strathcona has been apart of the division of sports at the national level and Canadian private practice association at the national level.

Meet the Business Owner: Noman Anwari 1.

Noman Anwari, a distinguished physiotherapist with a master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and a bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences (Honors) with a Psychology minor from York University. Specializing in chronic & sports-related injuries and Dry needling, Noman is certified in concussion and vestibular rehab, TMJ, spinal manipulation, and IMS/dry needling. His approach combines manual therapy, corrective exercises, IMS, K-tape, and electrical modalities, aiming for rapid recovery and return to active life. Beyond his professional expertise, Noman is passionate about the outdoors, enjoying hiking, soccer, baseball, and staying fit with regular gym sessions. He is also deeply committed to the community, volunteering at Alberta Hospital and CASA Edmonton to support mental health initiatives. These people are the reason I don't believe in therapy. You know that when you're sitting there,…read morethey don't actually care for you but they just want your money. They're not sincere or caring but just doing the bare minimum so you come back and pay them. They're unorganized and late all the time and it seems like they're late because they rather be sitting in their office eating, on their phones, or talking with one another which for one, does not make me feel comfortable having them discuss my situations to each other or to the receptionist. They're just fake! I leave my sessions with more anxiety because I feel like they're in the backroom discussing how frustrating I am as a client or how my problems are insignificant. Don't go here unless you want yourself feeling worse.
