Excellent strawberries. $35 for a full flat. These strawberries are not like the ones you get at the grocery stores or Costco. They are delicate and juicy. They actually taste like strawberry. The field is right behind the stand so you know they are fresh. The rumor is that they sell out so get there early. It's May and peak strawberry season. I've always wanted to taste the strawberries at this stand because my cousin would tell me that they have the sweetest and best smelling strawberries. We asked for a sample before we bought a half flat and they quickly gave us a whole strawberry each to taste. These strawberries are unlike the grocery store strawberries. They are sweet with the bite much softer than the commercially grown strawberry for the supermarket. It's worth the effort and money. The shelf life is a couple days so you'll want to freeze the strawberries around the second day for smoothies or just buy what you'll eat for the next couple days Highly recommended! read more

This a HIDDEN GEM. INCREDIBLE RIPE STRAWBERRIES! Even the ones that don't look magazine ready are amazing! Their strawberries are deep red, juicy, flavorful, and sweet sweet sweet. If you've only had grocery store strawberries, these are life changing. I've seen them sell other fruit (e.g., cherries, blueberries, raspberries, nectarines). I get their cherries when I don't have time to go to the U-Pick farms. They are good (better than any grocery store), but their strawberries are still the best. I haven't tried their selection of veggies (e.g., tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and more). They are open 7 days a week, 8am to 7pm, or until they sell out. They're easily accessible driving from Davis Rd and Eight Mile Rd. There's always space in their gravel parking lot. The line, if there is one, moves fast. They take cash and credit cards ($1 fee). In the 2023 season, it was $12 for 3 pints (called a white box); $20 for 1/2 flat (6 pints); $35 for a flat (12 pints). They're very generous about filling the pints that they're piled high. These are picked at their prime, peak ripeness so they don't last long. (Strawberries don't ripe after they're picked like bananas and avocados.) So it's important to enjoy them right away. Because they're so good, we (two adults) eat about 3 pints every two days; I'm here twice a week. To make your strawberries last longer: (1) DO NOT wash them until you eat them, (2) Place paper towels in a tupperware container with a tight lid, (3) Place the strawberries in a single-layer on the paper towel, (4) Then refrigerate, (5) Rinse your fruit when you're ready to eat. Their strawberry season is April through June. As of June 10, 2023, they told me their season has about two more weeks left. I am very particular (passionate, boujee, and snobby) about fruit and I can't help to brag how good their strawberries are. read more

I have always had a great experience at this fruit stand. You'll want to go early and only buy what you'll actually use within the next 2-4 days. The fruits and veggies are so fresh and ready for eating that they won't last long. However, this is usually not a problem because the produce is so tasty you'll want to eat it all right away. This place was great! Had so much fun. Love this side of Stockton and to be able to find this farm was icing on the cake! The prices listed above is what I paid for too. My friend and I split one big box so we each paid only 3. The taste is indescribable. Had to eat them so quickly though obviously compared to the grocery store. I agree with Mr. L.'s review. Strawberries Picked Fresh Daily does have the best tasting strawberries in the area. The smaller strawberry size varieties have more and sweeter flavor than the (as Mr. L calls them) 'Frankenberries'. And these strawberries really have the flavor! The only strawberries I've had with more intense, sweet flavor were wild strawberries, which are tiny in comparison and have much less fruit per plant. The plant only has so much 'flavor nutrients' to deliver to its fruit. The plant spreads the 'flavor nutrients' over its whole crop, and less and smaller fruit concentrates the flavor in the berries that are on the plant. More berries per plant (at the same time) and/or larger berries means less intense flavor per berry. I was a bit saddened to read the one review from June S. on 8/21/2010 that spoke of hiding unripe strawberries at the bottom of the basket. That sometimes does occur when a grower has more demand for strawberries than they can (at that moment) fill with truly ripe berries, or else the pickers are rushing to fill their 'picking quotas, or else the plants are being allowed to grow too many berries per plant, thus the plant struggles to properly ripen all the berries. I have seen this occur a couple of times, and each time, I spoke to the person attending the sales and brought it to their attention. I told them I love their strawberries, but I will only buy ripe strawberries. I asked for a re-packed basket with only ripe strawberries. They were a bit reluctant, but when they realized that I was a serious customer, they complied with my request. One time I had to say "I don't want to have to spread the word that your strawberries are not all ripe when picked. That would be bad for your business, and I value your being here. Please only pick the strawberries when they are properly ripened. I will be back, and if I find the same issue of unripe strawberries at the bottom of the basket, I will spread the word. There are other places to buy fresh-picked strawberries in the area that only pick properly ripened fruit. Their ripe fruit flavor is not quite as good as yours, but an unripe strawberry does not have the good flavor that I'm coming out of my way to buy." This is the reason I took away one star. If enough of us insist on only getting properly ripened berries and be serious that we'll walk away and take our business elsewhere rather than buy a basket/box with unripe berries hidden on the bottom, then we will set the 'market expectations bar'. A good business owner at some point will realize that they will have more business by meeting our expectations. All we're asking for is that they train their pickers to recognize and only pick properly ripened berries. It's not like they're going to lose the fruit; the same berries just need a little more time to properly ripen before picking. I understand the rationale behind picking 'very marginally' ripened strawberries. It is quicker for pickers to fill their 'picked berry' quota when they get more berries off the same plant at the same time. When you're paid by the quantity picked rather than by the hour, the tendency will be to pick berries that really need more time to ripen fully. It effectively maximizes the pickers' $/hr wages. Only picking the properly ripened berries means that they have to move to more plants to fill their 'picked berry' quota. This effectively lowers the pickers' $/hr. To encourage only picking the properly ripened berries, the grower needs to set his expectations for the minimum pickable ripeness. This can be achieved by slightly increasing the price paid per 'batch quantity' picked when there are essentially no 'very marginally' ripened berries, and reduce the price paid per 'batch quantity' picked if more than a few not properly ripened berries are in the load. A balance will be achieved. read more
