$11 for this "taco salad"? You've got to be kidding me. Last time I checked, a salad contained lettuce. This one apparently missed that memo entirely. When I asked where the lettuce was, the guy actually laughed instead of fixing the problem. And it wasn't just the salad. The entire order was wrong. Salsa? Missing. Pico? Missing. Lettuce? Apparently optional. The nacho cheese had the consistency of hair gel and looked like something that should be scraped off a shop floor, not put on food. Then there's the carne asada. Calling that asada is being extremely generous. The meat was so dry, dark, and miserable-looking that fried dog food honestly came to mind. I paid $11 for a taco salad, not a box of random fried dough, questionable meat, and condiments I apparently have to imagine were included. The food quality was terrible, the order was completely wrong, and the customer service was somehow worse. Laughing at a customer who is pointing out that you forgot half their meal is not exactly a winning customer-service strategy. Save yourself the money and the disappointment. I strongly recommend staying away from this place. Thanks for digging up some wilted lettuce from the back end giving it to me in foil. Straight to the trash dinner went. The meat dept has horrible customer service. I was there on Sunday st 9:40 am, the guy (light skinned & light eyes. I believe his name was Pablo) that I talked to was very passive aggressive. My Spanish is a little choppy, and I asked for short ribs with less fat, but in Spanish I said no fat (I used the wrong word). That triggered him and he said all meat has fat, and proceeded to pick up meats and say, this has fat, this has fat etc. No kidding I know all meat has fat. Besides short ribs, I wanted some meat marked "beef stew", he told me that's not for caldo. I pointed to it, and said it says "beef stew". If he thinks it's the wrong meat what does he care, he was not paying for it! Keep in mind it's labled beef stew. Haha Worst customer service I ever received in this meat department in my 30 years of making caldo. What a joke he was. I will never go back to this so called meat dept. Every item that we ordered was trash and it took forever for them to make it. The soup had two burned meatballs that tasted old like from yesterday and then some raw zucchini and cabbage. It had to be thrown away along with a disgusting chile Relleno and 2 different burritos that were both missing ingredients and lacking meat but what was in them was dry and overcooked to the point of being too tuff to eat. 03/23/24 i purchased Arachera to cook for my family. The meat was pre seasoned so i didn't notice a problem until we tasted it. It was clearly rotten. If you've ever had meat spoil and start to smell imagine that taste in your mouth. I love this store! We don't get to come as often as we would like because it's in Lodi kinda far from us. They're Mexican breads and pasties are amazing and I love love love their marinated Carnasada. I can never find the flavor that I like anywhere else. We were in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out! It's a small grocery store but seems like it has a nice variety to choose from. I loved their produce area. Everything looked fresh! Their meat section was nice with a variety of interesting items!! They also sell meats already marinated!! I loved the hot food section!! They had lots of Mexican menu items and soup!! I was told by my friend that it was great when you get off work too late to cook!! This place may be small but I saw lots of people coming and going! A very hopping place!! I have been a fan of Rancho San Miguel since it opened back in Lodi I believe just over 10 years ago. I used to work down the road so this was a quick and convenient trip for lunch breaks. You can't beat the food and the prices. I haven't done too much grocery shopping here but I have picked up a few items here and there. I love that they have unique fresh produce that you cant get at a regular grocery store. Most of my review is for the food court area. I've always been a fan of their food court. The food is delicious, fresh, fast and so reasonably priced for the generous amount of food that you get. I absolutely love their ceviche, seriously you cant go wrong with it. And their homemade chips are to die for! Recently I hosted a game night and needed food at the last minute because I was too lazy to cook. I grabbed a few of the taco family meals. Each family one includes 8 giant tacos, rice, beans and salsa. I also picked up some ceviche and chips for my pescatarian friend. It was so inexpensive I was very surprised and how little I was spending as I had budgeted more for food. I spent $100 to feed 14 people. Also, the food went super-fast, everyone raved about the food and were surprised when I told them where it was from. I'm writing this review because I have been to this store many times. They are always dirty in the parking lot and in the cart area. The belts at checkout are always dirty as well. I saw a customer complain about it to a manager and the manager didn't even act like she cared. I thought maybe something would get done about it but that has been weeks ago. Still looks the same after being in there a couple days ago. This is why I only go in for the bare minimum if that. They are cheap, but you won't anywhere find a tastier, more sturdy for dipping chip. Grab your fav salsa or guac and some RSM chips and you are set!! One star for the deli. My family loves the chili colorado. It's tasty and spicy! The meat is a little fatty, but it tastes awesome in a burrito. The breakfast burritos and the super nachos (tremendous value) are also worth noting as well. Being that it's essentially Food4Less you can guess the prices of the groceries but the prepared food is what you should be here for. Today I went in to buy my usual groceries and shopped approximately 45 mins I then headed to front asked an employee to unlock bathroom for use and was told twice and both said no bathrooms out of order signs on both doors. I unloaded my groceries and went to laundromat outside where another sign says out of service. This is an inconvenience for elder people like myself that can't wait or hold myself I've been thru this pandemic alrwady and know the essential grocery stores have to have working bathrooms where do employees go??? I am absolutely disappointed with the kitchen staff, my coworker and i went on our lunch break from work I ordered a veggie burrito because i do not eat pork, my coworker explained to me how they might have gave me the wrong burrito because the lady working there might have mixed up 2 burritos as someone else ordered one with bacon instead of marking it right away she did not and did not even bother to check if it was correct or not, as i bit into it had bacon on it i do NOT eat pork what an absolute mess!! We were trying to call so they could have our order ready when we get there but they had us on wait waisting our time for lunch now by the time i get it redone my lunch will be over! Im super angry and when we spoke to the manager she did not even seem to care or bother all she wanted was the burrito back as if i didn't bite into it,luckily i didn't throw it away. This is not the first time they mess up our orders i don't know if the staff needs more training because my coworker wanted no beans as well and they put beans on it. This place is always a mess outside. The baskets are gross and wouldn't even want to put my purse in it or let my son get in their baskets. The laundry mat across the way always has the quarter machine broken or it just steals your money. When it steals your money you have to hunt it down at the gas station.
