I feel bad for being the only low star review for Strawberry Fare. My friend and I came here for dinner services. Honestly I think its dinner that was really bad because everyone seems to come here for desserts and brunch. This was what we ordered: Kikorangi Blue Cheese Plate Salmon Ceviche Braised Lamb Pappardelle Tropical Coconut Freeze All the dishes lack in flavor, especially the Pappardelle. Watered down sauce, with no flavors, and the pasta was not good. The lamb was so tough and it shouldn't be because it was braised. As for the ceviche, they give you a lot but its does not look like the normal ceviche you would get anywhere else, just gross. We did like the Tropical Coconut Freeze. It was our only dinner in Christchurch and it was disappointing. Also, service was super slow even when the restaurant was not packed. I just don't understand the high reviews.

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Christchurch. It is the perfect spot for all occasions: anniversary, Sunday brunch, casual afternoon catch-up with a friend, drinks and especially dessert! The second story seems to attract a little bit of a nicer-dressed crowd while the lower level seems to be for those who just rolled out of bed or came from a workout. I wouldn't come here in anything less than a nice pair of jeans, at least. Strawberry Fare prides itself on serving local, fresh and organic food whenever possible, so you won't find fresher food anywhere else. For breakfast I have tried the french toast (which I think is their best breakfast item), the BET (which just seemed plain, though the flavors are nice), the blueberry pancakes which are delicious and looks like the batter is poured over a scoop of large blueberries on the skillet. The Corn and Capsicum Fritters and Salmon Deluxe were huge favorites with my friends. For lunch I enjoyed the bruschetta and the summer chicken salad. The bruschetta is fresh and the summer salad is refreshing but also has large pieces of asparagus. For dessert I absolutely recommend the Sunken Chocolate Cake. It is gluten free and vegan, but you would never know. It is also beautifully decorated with thin, frozen honey drizzle. The little girls I was with devoured their ice cream sundaes (but who doesn't love ice cream?) The cool thing about Strawberry Fare though is their baking school! You can take classes at the restaurant to learn to bake (almost) as good as their chefs. This is definietly an experience everyone must do! If you haven't been to Strawberry Fare, put it next on your list - you'll be glad you did!

This place is well known for its delicious desserts and for good reason. Bring your appetite, the dishes we had were generous in size. Not much more to say than if you're craving for a sweet treat then this place will do the trick.

We are tourist who came for breakfast and decided to do dinner the next day. Excellent choice on our part. I had the fish and my daughter had the filet, both were excellent! Their sauces are amazing! Not one piece left uneaten. Save room for dessert. Dessert prices are high but the desserts are fabulous. Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner. What a meal to remember

We started our South Island trip in Christchurch and this was our morning fuel up stop before we headed out, and what a good decision it was to come here. Impeccably decorated, clean, gracious service and delicious food. The upstairs looks out to the street which is lined by weeping willows, and downstairs you have to option to sit in the sunny balcony. Breakfast eggs, waffles, French bread they have it all. Highly highly recommend, this was of the the best places we tried when we were in New Zealand.

Enjoyed great service and superb food here. Been to breakfast and lunch. Great steak with true taste of quality. You have to try Salmon Croissant for breakfast. See pics bellow

An overall solid place for dinner or just for dessert. We sat around 8pm and it seemed like most parties seated came especially for dessert. Highlights: Each dish was placed beautifully. Get their fish of the day pan fried. They also cook a good steak. They have more desert options than meal options and the creme Brule was AHMAZING. Low light: Pork cassoulet was way too salty but otherwise well flavored.

We got eggs benedict! By far the best Benedict I have had to this date. Their poached eggs were the best. . We also got the warm raspberry drenched cake which was a bit sweeter than we expected but nevertheless great because of the texture

Delicious food and delicious coffee. The eggs Benedict was to die for as well as the tomato chutney that came with the eggs and toast. The flat white was my favorite so far in NZ. The service was exceptional and the waitress was willing to give us all sorts of recommendations of places to visit on our trip.

Easy to find, can park just outside the restaurant, friendly staff but most importantly the food was amazing. Was there for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict and a Duck Confit Hash. It was soo good.

Wonderful atmosphere and the service was incredible. I had the duck hash and would recommend highly!

    Bread is lovely.

Went for Saturday brunch and got a nice window seat. Decided to order BET - bacon eggs n tomato on kitchen's own seeded bread. Figure if a restaurant can't do basics, it'll fail everywhere else. And it was quite nice. Eggs nicely poached, bacon crispy, tomatoes ok. But the bread is delicious. Pity they only served one piece!!!

Absolutely loved the Addington. Great atmosphere, great menu. Highly recommend…read more We had brunch here: - salmon benedict (4.5 stars) - avo (4.5 stars, 5 stars for the halloumi, which was life-changing) - mushroom (5 stars), but then again I love mushrooms - scone (4 stars) - sweet and buttery, but I'm not much of a sweets person. Plus I had a BLTA sandwich (5 stars) as a take-away as I embarked on my day trip to Arthur's Pass. Ate it next to the mountains... so good.

Busy busy place but it's big and spacious inside so they can handle all the people. You might have to eat on the sofa in the front by the front door but ayyy food is worth the inconvenience haha. They always keep their menu simple which is nice because it makes deciding what to eat easier. One page and they vary it with a few options. The famous English style breakfast, eggs benny, some more general breakfast choices and what I got, the french toast plate with streaky bacon. In NZ they like to cook their bacon a little underdone which I didn't think I would like but I love it! They put in between the toast add some fruit, syrup and cream. It was amazing! I'm that guy that usually orders the best thing out of my friends and they all wish they got what I got.. this was one of those times haha. Definitely recommend.. It's a bit pricey here, between $17 - $23 depending on your choice. My French Toast was $20. They're famous for coffee here but I'm not really into coffee much(don't hate me) but I did get hooked on Chai lattes. Spicy or sweet, it's up to you. I wasn't feeling so spicy that morning, hangover vibes... so I got sweet. You order at a counter and then seat yourself. Instead of giving numbers to ID your table they give you a random country flag. Funny enough, the cashier said I look either Canadian or from California. So she gave me the Canada flag. Thanks EH. Do I really give off such a strong California vibe? I got that a few times when traveling around hahah. Amazing food, nice interior vibes, Chai was dank. 5 stars!
