I have been consistently going to mystic fitness over the past year, most of 2024. Mainly weekends…read moremixed in with super early weekday mornings, so you can imagine it has been relatively quiet and easy to navigate new workouts and all machinery. I find this to be the most convenient local gym of its kind. With an app based keyless entry and great customer service you really can't top the 24-7 gym experience local to mystic ct. However I would have liked to see more ownership/staffing presence for cleansing and maintenance purposes. A proper changing area would be an awesome addition as well. Some of the machines could use an overhaul or just straight up replacement. As a result I have not renewed this 2025 membership and in the process of remodeling my basement to workout from home. Lastly I wound have liked to see a month to month option included in 2025 memberships. I know I would have more than likely joined for the rest of the winter until my home set up is complete. It's so nice to have the option to workout whenever you want day or night or to go to guided classes. Having a supportive gym community and having someone guide the workout are what motivates me to consistently go to the gym. You basically show up and the workout is already coordinated. You'll receive feedback on form correctness throughout the workout to ensure you're doing the exercises safely and most effectively. It's a really great gym - you should definitely check it out if you haven't already! If you need guided workout classes like me, I highly recommend checking out Zoe's or Eric's spin classes and Xan's full body circuit classes.

I was a true fitness beginner and a little intimidated by gyms and trainers, etc., but the folks at Advantage were patient, understanding and supportive right from the beginning. The trainers really make an effort to know you and your goals, and the atmosphere is always supportive and upbeat. You really feel like you have a team on your side! The Mystic facility is easy to get to, has ample parking, and is just the right size. The shake bar is fantastic! The gym and locker room are super clean, and they have been on top of all covid protocols and provided excellent communication.

The instructors crank up the heat during yoga classes that are not designated at heated classes. There is no way to tell which classes will be heated ahead of time and there is no way to email the center to ask questions about the classes because the online "contact us" form on the website is designed so you can't read what you are writing. The people at the desk don't know anything about the classes. The new online calendar is difficult to even find classes and there is no longer a printable class schedule. Not so zen lately. Hope it gets better!
