The equipment is very new…read more(touchscreen for selecting songs, and nice LCD screens including a big one in the main area), and easy to use (even for people who don't read Chinese) and has a good collection of songs. Best time to go is during the week (not Friday/Saturday nights) because its only $5 per person per hour. Though if I could change something to make this place better, I'd probably waive the $50 cash only deposit (especially if no-one drinks anything)

That was almost an hour and a half wait. We thought it'd be fine to wait it out if we got drinks and chilled. We entered. The placed was decked out and bumping for sure. Very spacious, very modern. I loved it. I felt like I was in Rush Hour 2. Got a shot. 10 bucks. Ouch. But standard I assume. Didn't take card cause they had a minimum. Ugh. There was a common area for everyone to observe whoever it was's turn to sing. To even get a chance for that, was another hour wait. Friends didn't like their pina coladas. Bathrooms were dope and beautiful. Took some bathroom selfies, not gonna lie. Left soon after we took our shots. Gotta plan ahead of time before coming here. Don't go on a whim like we did unless you wanna be disappointed.

Whilst it can't really compare to the buffet + ensuited karaoke rooms of Asia, in Sydney nothing beats big echo for a cheap singing fix. There's a wide variety of songs (I even found a Christian one in there last night which amazed me) and generally they are quite up to date with the latest English and Chinese songs. The newer English songs even have the actual music video in the background so we can stop watching clips from the 1980's of women walking around a fountain with big boofy hair and oversized bright clothing. So I've always taken full advantage of the happy hour sessions where you can sing for 3hrs plus get a free drink for $12/pp but yesterday I was happy to discover that there are now "all you can sing" sessions where you can sing for up to 8hrs for $12/pp. BARGAIN!!! The only catch is it's for a minimum of 5 people. Looks like I better get cracking at finding 4 others and buying some soothers to take in with me. http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/TdDANZuiLc-erFYUs9tH1g?select=P6QCum1o9p-Cy-m7t8We-g http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/TdDANZuiLc-erFYUs9tH1g?select=yx8KXJUs8iHHJ-Kxw7B7Lg Oh and looks like I can finally successfully hold my Jay Chou karaoke marathon and get through his 11 albums in one karaoke session :p

They have variety of songs which is a good thing, however the system is kinda sluggish and old. An upgrade is in need! The sound system is so-so, nothing to complain for that. Other than that, i'm happy that I got to Sing for just $12. But c'mon you can do better than that.

Range of songs, is OK, not amazing. You need to buzz the person to order drinks and can't do it on the screen. They only have beers or wine by the bottle and a limited range of spirits. Nice customer service though. You do have to leave a bond of a $100 in case someone 'spews'. Her Words, not mine ;)

Atmosphere was a little cramped in what is supposed to be a '21-30' person room. But all in all...solid start. I was sufficiently inebriated at this stage and so, fiddling with remote controls and shuffling through songs felt like reciting Pi to a 100 decimal places. Add on to that a system of what looked to me like hieroglyphics and things were getting rocky. It took 15 minutes to attempt a system reboot in order to reset this indecipherable language into English. In this time, I was sobering up and awkwardness levels were beginning to elevate. Enter CEO panic mode. More sober friends arguing with management and voila we set foot into the practically Coliseum like entrance to the CEO room, fit for, well you guessed it...a Chief Entertainment Officer. Speaking on behalf of friends who have greater recollections of the events that unfolded (six shots down at this stage..), the music variety was limited for a western audience but the gimmicks made up for this. Large flat screens, premium 'dance' floor space and very comfy furniture...albeit slightly hazardous (as I found out later) glass tables all made for a top night despite the prior shortcomings. Enter next star deduction. Time to refund my deposit CEO after a non spewtastic evening! Oh wait, we are not able to refund you because the card details we have on hand are not the ones you specifically listed out to me barely a day prior. Words to the wise. Thanks! We had beers and played pool downstairs before heading up to the alley and knocking down those pins, some better than others. What I need to do in order to improve my game is work on not turning my wrist when I release the ball, I had a bit of trouble there, and my friends didn't make it any better, but I reminded them, some of us may be in the gutter, but at least we're looking for the spares. Strike bowling is the perfect place to meet up with friends if you're all keen on throwing large heavy balls down thin wooded aisles to hit a bunch of white pins. If that sounds like you, then this is the place for that. But what it also offers, apart from group packages and functions, is downstairs beside the bar they have a laser tag arena. A simple game where you put on electronic vests and back packs and run around shooting each other through a dark and moody maze in some kind of, as the introduction video states, post apocalyptic world torn apart. Between shooting friends with lasers, bowling gutter balls and drinking beer, Strike Bowling Bar offers a great and different night out.

It has really brought bowling back as a night out. I first went here for a work Christmas party and it was so much fun. I've also been for a few drinks and a burger and some bowling, as well as with a private party. The best part about it is that it's not just bowling, the entry level is a bar with pool tables and arcade games and a dance floor. Upstairs is the bowling, and there is a bar at the end of the lanes, where you can also order food. There's also laser skirmish, which I am yet to try (it's booked in for a friend's birthday next month). As well as karaoke rooms (also yet to try and not likely to happen). After 4pm it costs $16/game, or $24 for two. On a Saturday night this goes up to $18/game or $28 for two. Its cheaper during the day before 4pm ($14/24) and for kids during school holidays ($8) There's also a bowl and blast combo, with 1 game of bowling and 1 game of skirmish for $20.
