Owner of JTH Builders, Jad Harb is a man whose word means nothing and to whom signed contract is…read morenon-binding. During the project, Jad provided minimal supervision and direction to the subcontractors and so they would all make decisions on own as they went. Any corrections by the client to bring the project back according to the building plan are considered that it is the client changing things and delaying progress. When any questions were brought up by us, Jad would ask us to speak directly with the subs, but then would rage text both the client and the subs, not to speak to each other. Our project sat idle for weeks because Jad didn't order windows ahead of time, the house wasn't fully enclosed until 7 months into the project with materials sitting in an open garage for months, because the correct garage door wasn't ordered in time. It is always someone else's fault but never Jad's for not overseeing the work. The building was taking so long from the contract sign date (18 months) that suddenly the price went up by approximately 80k! He would ask for payments prior to completing stages of work as in contract. Subcontractors would have to comeback multiple times to get the job done because the site wasn't prepped. Materials and equipment couldn't be delivered because the trucks would get stuck on the driveway that wasn't done for 7 months- we started in June and then the fall and winter came as a surprise with the weather so it couldn't be done. We heard that our building project wasn't his priority; then we heard the diggers were broke so the driveway couldn't be done; the garage door was badly damaged in shipment so needed to rush order another one for wait time of 5 weeks; windows were delayed by 20 weeks, but he said he had them ordered when we were waiting on the permit. The man has an excuse for everything all awhile he was constantly posting on his instagram (that has since been removed) the work he was completing for other clients around Fairfield County. Absolutely nothing was done ahead of time or anticipated by him as general contractor- his reactions to anything are outrageous. When we refused to pay until things we already paid for were fully completed, Jad walked off the job leaving a complete mess all around.

Alan Dinsmore Contracting - Craftsmanship and Professionalism…read more Alan and his crew did a fantastic job on my kitchen. Every time I mentioned something I wanted, the response was "no problem." It was especially helpful to find a contractor who could handle every phase of the project: cabinet refacing, flooring, plumbing, electrical upgrades and tiling. These guys were professional, neat, and easy to work with. The price tag was also reasonable, so I was able to keep to my budget. Kitchen remakes can be a long drawn out process, so be sure to pick a contractor you can trust, and who is accommodating when things don't go as expected. Alan's experience and knowledge helped when it came to making remodeling suggestions, and he followed up on every question or concern with the professionalism of a master craftsman.

He was also calming...helping me not to panic when I saw pictures of severe wood rot and exterior damage to my home.Once the structural issues were attended to we moved forward with the fun part! He designed a lovely and functional bathroom complete with heated floors...a rain head...and gorgeous tiling! I would love to show a picture as words dont do this project justice. He was patient with decisions and made minor adjustments throughout the project. Every detail was attended to including the final painting. In addition to the high quality work, flexibility and attention to detail Alan and his team were very dependable and respectful of my time. They were always conscientious in cleaning up every day. We trusted them enough to have full access to our home when we were working and besides slipping my puppy an occasional dog treat my house remained pristine!
