Looking to get myself a pair of Tigers, the staff were really knowledgable about the history of this retro-cool brand and how their original trainers from the 40's have now become fun street wear while the serious running business has taken off with ASICS. I probably wouldn't normally notice stuff like this when buying sneakers, but having been flat-out ignored at no less than 5 other branded sports stores, this turned out to be a more review-worthy experience. The store links in with an ASICS concept store too, so if you need to get your gait checked and all the heavy duty stuff, you can run in next door. Otherwise, just enjoy the colours and stuff available at the Tiger store, some of which are exclusive to the concept stores. I liked a pair of street shoes but got talked into some comfier run-arounds that also suit light exercise - which is what I was actually after. I hadn't been expecting anything more than straight forward sales here, so it's good to know you can get some decent advice even just for every day shoes.

They are worn but still gorgeous, faded but still functional, tired but still comfy. They are one of my favourite pairs that I have ever had. I got them from here. They replaced the broken zipper on one boot on one pair of boots, and it is an exact mirror image of the other zipper. Bliss. And the turnaround time of a few days was also quite reasonable as well, and on the overall scheme of things quite quick too. I am a happy fan already. The staff went the extra mile (all I wanted was the zipper fixed) and the next minute it looks like I have a brand new pair of boots, and the total investment was only around half of what I paid for a new pair of boots; not to mention what one originally paid for these boots to begin with. Going the extra mile came from putting new soles onto my boots and polishing off the sides to make them black without anymore specks of white. If anyone needs their shoes repaired; this place will be mentioned first to go to for assistance. Like many others, I used master cobbler because I saw a flurry of good reviews. I had recently purchased a new paid of shoes, and I wanted to get rubber soles added to them to increase their longevity. When I got home and had a chance to inspect the work that had been performed, I was rather disheartened. So much so, that I put the shoes straight back into their box and didn't touch them for 2 months; only wearing them for the first time last week. The rubber soles were installed poorly, with damage done to the sole and leather of the shoes. The heel replacement, which these new shoes did not need, was also installed very poorly, damaging the stitching, leather and wooden sole of the shoe. Please refer to the photos i have uploaded to this page. The real kicker was it cost me $100, which was more than I spent on the shoes. Overall, the experience was not pleasant.

Shoes are great, but living in Hawaii and California for nearly all my life has conditioned me to wear sandals on a regular basis. Many shoe stores I've visited rarely stocked orthopedic footwear- the only exception being the podiatrist clinic. Unfortunately, there is not much selection in design in such places. While my primary aim was to find orthopedic sandals, I also had a strong preference with ones with pretty designs. Although I have a foot problem, I don't necessarily want to advertise it to the world! Some footwear brands, such as Vionic and Orthaheel, offer this extra feature. I like the illusion of wearing cute sandals that don't look like orthopedic crutches. If I'm going to be spending extra money on special sandals, they best look nice! In actuality, I didn't have to spend extra money for nice sandals at The Walking Company! They were having a sale and much of their shoe prices were reduced. A pair of Ahnu sandals that originally costed $149 were on sale for only $89. The prices are still a little steep for me, but most orthopedic footwear is expensive. This was a pretty good deal. Also, they have a return/exchange policy that's pretty good. You can try out the shoes and see how it feels at home for a few days, and if it's not the right fit you are welcome to return it. The staff was really helpful and friendly! I am probably the most indecisive person in the world! It takes a while for me to decide what I really want. When it comes to making a decision that's going to affect your daily life (i.e. shoes, sandals), you want to make sure it's a worthy investment, right? The lady helping me was very attentive and wasn't put off by my lack of decision-making skills. After spending a while deciding between all the options, I decided to check out the Ahnu sandals. It can definitely be difficult to find shoes that's just the right fit. If you want a wide selection of footwear, I would definitely recommend this place. They cater to both men and women.
