This may sound crazy but Stripes may honestly be the best breakfast and lunch deal on the damn island. Hot and fresh made tortillas along with some serious taco combos (courtesy of the laredo taco company). I personally enjoy the barbacoa tacos and the beef fajitas. A buddy really likes the carnitas and green pork. Tacos are $2 each or you can get two tacos plus a 32oz drink for $5. Breakfast tacos are a dollar. I have friends who when they come to the island end up eating Stripes tacos at least once a day. I've done the half chicken plate and the sausages before as well. Both are worth checking out if you're in the mood. Can't go wrong with Stripes. Oh and they sell gas too. read more

This place is awful. Store looked like it hadn't been cleaned for awhile. They were completely out of sugar for the coffee (or at least that's what they told us but perhaps they were just too lazy to restock). We had to wait about 20 minutes in the line for breakfast tacos, because the prep lady was taking so long for each order and no one was helping her. She was nice but older, and I did have to ask her to wear gloves when preparing our food (uhm hello we're in a pandemic) . The cashier was very rude and acted disinterested in helping us out. No hello or thank you or anything. Also, they don't have plastic bags here (city ordinance is what they said) but in that case they should be able to provide a paper sack like most other places do. read more

The place is dirty amd slow. The concept of having hot food fresh is a good one but its high time they bring in some MBAs to fix service issues. Hell a VP with a college degree could fix this. I have always been a fan of the Laredo Taco company. I am originally from Harlingen and have gone to almost every Stripes that has the Laredo Taco company locations in them for years. I've always told my family and friends, "The best tacos come from Laredo Taco company". That being said, this Laredo Taco company in this particular Stripes is horrible. The beans are watery; the food is flavorless; the staff is poorly trained to handle the volume of customers that they see in the mornings; coffee is frequently empty and the tables are filthy. Overall, customer service is at an all-time low for this particular Stripes and Laredo Taco company, in my opinion. read more
