Restoration work is more difficult than new construction, since it involves walls and surfaces that may not be straight, antique cabinetry, more abundant and varied millwork, and much already in place that has to be worked around. Neither job was simple, and our current job has presented extra challenges in fitting stone (and a weird sized sink) into existing original cabinetry. Measuring and fabrication was more difficult, and they had to return to adjust a piece due to a very tight fitting issue. We have been so grateful to work with a family company with experience and the determined perfectionistic commitment to getting things right no matter the unique challenge presented to them. The son, Grant, was personally involved with everything. He pointed out several safety hazards that would have been missed otherwise, and helped us find locks and doors that met our unusual needs. He also automated their administrative stuff so it was really easy to work with them. The dad, Gary, came over to double check that the workers did everything to his standards, and even made them double reinforce the ceiling mount just in case it got overloaded. I could not be more impressed with their integrity and high standards. Especially with the safety stuff where they could have cut corners and gotten away with it on the county's dime. Shawn did a project for me that initially looked like a long term fix. After I saw some settling a year or so later I reached out to Shawn and he agreed to come out and take a look. After the meeting Shawn said he would be out within about two weeks to come take care of the issue with a little more lifting. Now a year later after texts, phone calls and emails that have all been ignored I am sitting with an issue and no warranty repair. Shawn was eager to talk about his warranty and his website boats of an industry leading 5 year warranty but do not believe it! It is just sad because my fix is so easy and he is still has no follow through and does not care about honoring our contract. Look elsewhere for your project.

Easy to talk to and get along with. All true. But more than that he performed above my expectations. And my expectations were high because of the reviews. He has all the equipment needed. Talented and hardworking crew members. It's like a 'well oiled' machine. Kinda like a symphony to watch them work. They came when they said they would. They got to it right away and got it done in a very timely fashion. And, I must admit that I was really surprised how nicely they cleaned up when finished. They left our yard cleaner than we they got here. We had a large silver maple totally taken out. The stump is just over 4' in diameter. Must have been 50+ feet high. And we had two large branched in an ash tree to remove. Another silver maple we had them trim it up and it looks great. The last tree was a sickly evergreen about 35-40' tall. That one took them no time at all. So that is a total of 4 trees they worked on. I 'highly' recommend Mike's Dirtworks. Mike, the owner, is a great guy and one hardworking guy.
