Okay I normally don't do this but I'm doing it. Rant Alert…read more I went to Diamond Nails at 4:40pm, I was seated by 5pm and showed the nail tech a picture of what I wanted. See pic attached. He nodded and got to work. I thought it was odd that he did literally 1 coat of polish and sent me on my way. I got to my car and looked at my nails. They were completely see through, the hot pink polish that was previously on my nails was still on my nails and "coated" over. I also check their Facebook menu pricing, it said "full set with shellac polish, $40.00", I was charge $53.00 +tip. I walked back in and politely asked for a color change as I didn't not like the color provided and you could still see my old polish. They told me to take a seat and a lady came and got me. Instead of just using polish remover she complete shaved down my nails, re buffed them, and painted them the pink I had chosen. She proceeded to charge me $24.00 +tip for a color change. The owner/manager could tell I was not happy about this and handed me a $15.00 gift card, I went to use the gift card to pay for the polish change that should have been free since it wasn't done correctly the first time and the owner/manager proceeded to tell me I couldn't use the gift card until the next time I come. I'm screaming mad but am terrible at confrontation and don't want to "be a Karen". Ladies, learn from my mistake. Do NOT go to Diamond Nails in Waterloo. I have gotten my nails done for years and I have never paid almost $100.00 for a full set with pink polish (no designs). Okay rant over, thanks for listening.

Not sure how knowledgeable staff is and may need to work on engaged/ customer service if they plan to retain repeat business because it was kind of awkward. No interest in learning about the customer unless I asked questions about her, she wasn't interested it seemed or social. I had booked a 2 hour express color with an experienced stylist and kindly explain what I needed. Wanting to go dark like my natural roots and cover my blonde after weeks over growing it out and needed a reshape my on layers. She ended up deciding that a gloss would cover my blonde, applied, processed laying my head in a bowl for quite awhile without any much explanation. Brushed out, did a basic trim on my ends and declined a styling after drying. Color wasn't dark as my natural, pretty red which is typical for gloss, just disappointed with how it just seemed like there was no effort. Appointment was just over an hour long and cost $100, no tip was an option on my bill so I assume that she added whatever she thought was appropriate. Needless to say, I know gloss will fade after a few washes and definitely recommend better customer service, more dedicated to the services provided and being transparent on cost.

Then, for whatever reason nastily reminded me of her no call, no show policy. So crazy since she cancelled on me!!!!!! But, I headed to the salon, 'cause i needed the service, and it was too late to scramble to find someone else. Chloe was very busy so Latasha took pity on me and she did a super job. Thank you, girl! I searched on the Paul Mitchell Locator and found Rivers Edge Hair Studio. I was super surprised to see a real Paul Mitchell salon in Dunkerton IA. I instantly had comfort the quality was going to be good as I've never been disappointed with a Paul Mitchell salon, but I felt like they went above and beyond plus being super affordable. I'm used to salons charging extra for blow drying and even the mention of a style will cost extra. Maybe it was because I was getting my hair done for my birthday but she blow dried and curled my hair. I felt like a million bucks when I left. Thanks for being awesome!

There was a couple with their daughter in there while we were waiting, and he was super through with them to explain the kind of jewelry their child had and explained how they can switch it at home and what they needed.
