Which is nice since most studios do 60 minute sessions but it's nice to have enough time to really warm up. Katie offers tips and tricks as well as modifications that have allowed me to safely accomplish moves that were previously uncomfortable. Karla is fun, calm, supportive and extremely encouraging. Karla's approach and style of teaching and coaching is very unique in the sense that Karla often focuses on how moves feel in the body versus how they look- I absolutely love this! Karla creates a safe and comfortable environment for me to express myself and reconnect and explore mind and body connection. Both Katie and Karla are great assets to the industry. Aresha is kind, professional, quick to respond to emails/calls/texts, and always delivers great customer service. The studio is a vibe- I appreciate the lighting because it makes all the difference. An area for improvement to consider is the ratio of class size to pole availability. Classes are often overbooked which forces us to share poles. This reduces the amount of time we spend using a pole while still having to pay the full rate for less pole time.

After his class they gave him ribbons that said he was ready for the next class and one for completing his 1st swim class. He was so thrilled! They have so much to offer. Tried out the newbie's pole class recently. I have zero experience with pole and was pretty nervous…read moregoing in. I arrived 20 minutes early and was given a tour of the gym by the staff. Another person and I taking the class were told they would open the door to the pole studio 10 minutes before, as they only give the code to gym members. The other person and I waited outside for 15 minutes; we were also joined by 2 other people waiting, but no one opened the door for us. We knocked multiple times, and a staff member had to unlock the door for us. We entered the studio during the class, which had already started. Immediately, the instructor by the name of Nina berated us and told us how rude it was that we were 15 minutes late and made the 4 of us do jumping jacks. I was instantly turned off and almost got up and left the class due to the instructor's behavior. The class was not beginner-friendly; she went through demos extremely fast, and the overall unwelcoming vibe from Nina was the worst way to introduce me to pole. Thankfully, this experience did not turn me away completely from pole, but I will be taking my business somewhere that is more welcoming and friendly. I DO NOT reccomend this place for beginners, and I DO NOT reccomend Nina as an instructor.

First off, it is an odd area and when you first walk into the business complex it seems a bit sketchy. It is not. You are in the right place! The studio itself is beautiful and cozy with lots of mirrors and a nice seating area. My first beginners class with Thalia I was the only student! What could have been horrifying and awkward turned out amazing. Thalia is a very knowledgable instructor- patient, supportive and incredibly sweet. She will push you through and not let you get away with half-hearted moves. :-) On top of all this, the environment in just fun. The classes are small and everyone gets a pole. I'm writing this review as a mama of two littles who took multiple classes at RPA... and as a current dancer in the adult classes as well. From the moment we walked through RPA's doors the whole studio made us feel welcome and like family. I can't tell you how kind and down to earth the entire studio is. I've had the pleasure of taking classes with just about every teacher and they are all extremely talented and easy to learn from. Annie (the owner) is who I have spent the most time with and she is wildly talented and such a great teacher. She is really good at meeting every person where they're at and taking them where they want to be... all at the same time. She equally makes learning fun while challenging you. Josh's choreography is continually breathtaking and tells a story! I learned so much from him and gained confidence from his teaching in just a year. Sarah, on top of being an amazing tapper, has a fun and infectious personality you can't help but love! Her classes are such a joy to be in. Vanda is warm and inviting. I love that she choreographs hip hop to the lyrics-- making it that much more of an immersive experience. Another thing-- these adult dance classes are truly all levels, all experiences, all ages, all genders. It's a "come as you are" experience and it's really quite special. I am so grateful to have found such a warm home to enjoy the arts. And if you're looking for one... come on in!
